I remember playing on and around that station as a kid in the 70’s ......it had waiting rooms the length of the platform ,and a signal box there too back then .
You should! If they would cut the bush down at the end of the platform it would be even better! Let me know if you go, I'll gladly give your video a watch :)
I highly recommend going on a weekday at around midday to afternoon. Obviously, you’ll get more passenger traffic than me after the timetables have gone back to normal. Those 170s aren’t doubled up all the time! Have fun and be safe JBW :)
Thank you very much Daniel! I did see your comment on the first video but I messed up the headcodes of the last clip so I thought I would fix it today :)
StarlifeStudios Rail Videos yes got to love those HST’s ❤️😎👍🏽 43366 (43166) has been pounding that route on and off now for 39 years, as it was originally built for XC under BR as part of XC set 253042 (43165 & 43166) in 1981.
It’s becoming harder and harder to get them now! But of a shame it was held up by the 37 in-front but still a good classic mix. Very interesting, I’m not sure what future these have with CrossCountry.
StarlifeStudios Rail Videos I think they will have a future for a few years yet, as they have just spent good money making the 5 sets compliant and whoever wins the franchise in the future will probably have cascaded MML 222’s to add/bolster the XC fleet. XC is the “poor relation” compared to other premium franchises as it does not directly serve London anymore, so the DFT looks at it as a ‘make do and mend’ franchise, but you never know. Perhaps the new operator in the future will jump on the Hitachi 80x bandwagon and order a fleet of these? If that happens then yes, the 5 XC HST’s will probably be consigned to History.
Container trains are dependent on when ships dock and drivers are available. When these all align, they often run early since its better to arrive early than late.
Hi Thomas, I haven’t done many videos in Wales or West. It’s something I’m looking to improve on. I will try and organise a visit to those stations soon 👍🏻
Hi Thomas, Central Rivers TMD (also known as Barton-under-Needwood Depot) is just outside of Burton on Trent. I believe the current Bombardier depot replaced an older depot by the same name. Thanks for your kind comments 🙂
Yes your very right! I always make sure I stand behind the yellow line and observe my surroundings. The wind muffle noise has been fixed on my up-coming videos.

Would it be possible for you to do a video of trains at Salisbury and a another video of trains at Cardiff Central please?

How many trains stop there
Currently, I believe its one train every 2 hours in each direction (1 to Leicester, 1 to Birmingham).

When the Voyagers goes fast, they're make a lot of wind even the freight train so be careful bro.
