I've dated younger since I was 25 because they ask me out in real life. But it's because I look younger.
I've always felt uncomfortable around men who look like he's my father next to me because people glare at me - presumably they think I'm a gold digger, which I'm not.
I've had friends assume female friends my own age were my mother.
Having said that, if i met a man suited to my temperament & I my interests, I don't care what age- except I doubt I'd date anyone over 20 years or so younger- because it just seems too ridiculous.
Mam, you cannot be serious! I promise you, you do not look younger than your age no matter how much you believe it. You are just used to your own reflection in the mirror and you have not noticed yourself aging because you see yourself every single day. People you hang out with every day also do not notice you aging gradually. But folks you went go high-school with or worked with at some point in the past can see that you’ve aged. Strangers also can see that you’re no young spring chicken. It’s obvious. See, this way of deluding yourself that as a granny you’re still a youthful-looking girl, is what gets most of these catfished victims into scams. Also, I’m much younger than you and I consider men in their 70s the only appropriate age for me to date. Men who are my age are out there chasing 17-year olds. When I hit 50, if I still haven’t connected with anyone by then, it is 100% over for me at that point in terms of dating. Not a lot of 80 year old men running around looking for a girlfriend. The majority of them are dead and the alive ones are in senior living facilities wearing a diaper, being fed meds for prostate issues, and dementia.

I'm a 77 year old man and receive scam text at least once a week. Fortunately I'm Internet savvy enough to know a scam when I see one. I've actually answered obvious calls I knew were BS and played their game while playing senility just to waste their time. Unfortunately, I having a couple of family members who have been scammed costing them a few thousand before catching on. What you do is awesome and although it's hard to believe people fall these scams, their are some lonely old people will do anything for attention. Thank you for helping the seniors that fall for these tricks.

I think as we have seen with the Trump election, some people just have trouble determining reality, and are easily swayed by false markers of honesty, like saying “something confidently and repeatedly = must be true.”
They just don’t respond to evidence and facts as most people do, and tend to believe what they want, and have ludicrous explanations for why the contradictory facts don’t count.
