  • Been here many times and each time has been a beautiful and eerie experience and somewhat disturbing. Welcome to Dogtown. An abandoned ghost town that was established in 1641.
Mostly known for Roger Babsons boulders carved during the Great Depression. Roger hired out of work stonecutters to chisel out meaningful words & quotes. It is also known for its dark side. Haunted woods, where wolves, shapeshifters and witches. Also a very brutal murder in the 80's. Today it's illegal campsites, a homeless haven, drug use and lost hikers.
One of a few illegal campsites: 23:49
    Is this dude okay: 27:50
    Lunch, chit chat & a train: 30:55
    Haunted History: 41:37
    Puddles, gunshots, outro & thank you’s: 44:50
Happy New Year everyone and thank you for a great year!

Always love these adventures. history mixed with the woods and the inspiring words etched in stone were incredible! The coyote was so cool while the campsite and sleeping man would get my heart rate pumping a bit. Very relaxing hike ... Full steam ahead through the water 💦 ... Dang those gun shots sounded too close. Definitely a fantastic day my friend. Happy New Year 🎉🥳🎉🤠🌲☕🤗

It was a great hike out for sure, looking forward to going back as there is something else I need to find/see out here.
Seeing that coyote was a moment for me.. sounds ridiculous but I felt connected to him. Seeing that man and not knowing if he was sleeping or passed was eye opening.
Thank you for checking it out friend. Appreciate the comment. Happy New Year 🎊

Thank you so much for this incredible journey.
One thing i remember is before you shared a adventurous video that you gave an in depth history of the subject matter.
This particular journey you pointed out about how people thought this man was insane.
But in reality he was carving a path of his future to share with people.
Every piece of work had a special message to the world.
And look at what happened ..his work and his messages carry on leaving significant messages on rocks to endure the test of time.
I for one am thankful i discovered you on UA-cam and the Many wonderful explorations youve encountered.
Also..thank you for the time you took to make this and to bring your viewers alo ng.
The editing was "Spot on" !
    (
To think i first viewed your first video by accident.
The one when you went to Hingham
    armory .)
Thank you for the May years of excellent entertainment and to wish you an abundance of good health and happiness this 2024!)

I would like to add something if I may.
I went out hiking deep into the woods behind my church.
I came across a tent just like yours and some empty food containers with experation dates still new.
What was supposed to be a nice day hiking turned into a random act of kindness.
I managed to get out of the woods in.a hurry and bought some provisions and left them by the tent.
Nothing fancy 12 cans of Chef boy r Dee some wooden matches. Some gatorade.
Not knowing if anyone was actually out there I went back and seen the bag gone I left by the tent.
Im.sure the person you seen sleeping was getting some heat from the sun
It's sad how people end up in life.
But it doesnt mean we cant show our kindness.
I will pray for safe travels for you and good health.
Thank you for taking me along on your travels.

That’s awesome Gary. Just because someone is down and out doesn’t mean they are a danger to anyone and people are quick to judge these days. I wish i had a blanket to give to that dude I saw on the rocks. Glad you did what you did and thank you so much for sharing that.

Bahaha yep that would be my response to that Coyote also! :Hi puppy!" 😂Im digging the boulders
and the sound of crunching leaves! I dont know whats scarier on your adventures......creepos in the woods
or creepos in the bandos ! Great video and glad u survived this adventure! Happy New Year 💜

He came out of nowhere was just standing right in front of me before i could whip out my camera then trotted off into the woods. I don’t fear coyotes but definitely not dumb to touch them. Hopefully that dude has shelter from the bitter cold. I may go back out there and leave blankets on that rock, idk….
Happy New Year and I always appreciate your comments and support my friend 🫵🏻💜🤗

I was holding my breath as you were walking towards the reservoir cause I knew there is a homeless camp out there. It was a lot bigger a few years ago. Crazy you found that guy sleeping! The second time I was there I came in on the Reservoir side...almost got hit by a train...scared me and the driver of the train.. Then I ran into the homeless camp! I didn't stay long at all that trip! You are so brave! Happy New Year, I look forward to your new adventures..

This is a beautiful set of woods but as you know can be sketchy. Theres something else I want to find out here.. but that’s another day. Thank you Annette.

@@ExplorewithmeMarloC hey there, yes the place can be sketchy, especially going out there alone. First time I was there I had a couple people with me, second time I was alone and that’s when I had issues. I’ve found most of the boulders, not all. I want to find the Whales jaw, or what’s left of it, and also Peters Pulpit. I don’t know if I’ll ever make it out there again, but if I’m ever in the area again I’m going to make a point to go back to Dogtown and find the rest. It’s an amazing and beautiful place and the HISTORY is just astounding! I’m a huge fan of Cape Ann so who knows… 😃

Happy new years Marlo. you were in my area or not far I should say. I have never gone to see Dogtown, I hear its a dangerous area even though it looks lovely. I really enjoyed this and I laughed at why you don't make yearly resolutions because why set yourself up for failures. priceless. looking forward to what your bringing in the new year. Stay safe dear

Awesome video!!! Happy new year!! I love historic places like that. What a great place to hike!! The guy sleeping on the rock was scary. I don't know what your concealed carry laws are there but please carry something for self defense. I always carry a handgun when I go into the woods. At least carry some bear spray with you just in case. Stay safe and thanks for another great video.

Thank you. I carry mace and a knife. I let my LTC lapse so I need to go through the whole process to get it back. I definitely need to carry when I’m out here doing these hikes and campouts.
These historic places are always interesting to me for sure as well. Thank you for your comment, appreciate it and happy, healthy New Year.
