This day was supposed to be a mountain hike with epic views, I even brought out the drone but turns out the trails were closed due to dangerous ice conditions. Driving back I decided to detour through Waterbury, Ct. and stop at an abandoned religious theme park called Holy Land USA. I haven’t been there in a long time and thought it would look beautiful in the snow… I was right and it turned out to be an amazing afternoon adventure. The replica town of Jerusalem was breathtaking and the stillness of the bright snow on the buildings gave it quite a different appearance from the usual overgrown landscape. I guess when things don’t go as planned we need to adjust and still make the best of the day enjoying the outdoors. Full info on this location down below.

picture it all done up at Christmas time with lights every where. That would be

Ya it does kind of resemble a cemetery.. it’s a cool spot to see and my original plan went to crap so I drove here. This place would look amazing lit up for Christmas. I appreciate you coming by to check it out my friend and hope all is good with you 💯☺️🤗

Hey Marlo! I have seen others make videos here, but yours the first I've seen with snow on the ground and drone footage. I'm glad you decided to stop by here and video it! It is indeed an amazing recreation of Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Having an annual visitorship of 40,000 in that time and day was remarkable for a family owned park. It was quite a vision, and brought the Holy Land to many who would not be able to go. That was very sweet of you to sprinkle some of your mother's ashes there since she had wanted to see it. It's sad to see this place left to decay. I seemed to remember the cross with razor wire around it was still lit at night. I looked it up, and the current cross was put in there in 2013 and lit by 5,000 LED lights. Is it still lit?
The views from there are fantastic! The drone footage was spectacular. Too bad Mr. Hawk didn't think so! 😆I enjoyed seeing this place in the snow and very glad you weren't hurt. ❄👊👍✝
Hey.. good morning. They still have the cross lit at night. When your on the highway down below you can look up and see the cross ☺️ I’ve been here so many times but never came during winter.. it’s a different look and feel.
I thought Mr. Hawk was going to be the new owner of a drone at one point, lol.

I didn't know that we had a Holy Land in the USA! 😁👍You could have gotten away with that nasty spill. There was probably no one there to witness it but you shared it with us and slowed it down so we could see. It looks like nothing was damaged or hurt including your pride. That's good!.
I definitely didn’t do this place justice, theres so much to see here but a lot was covered in the snow but it was beautiful to see in Winter. No harm no foul with the small fall but im glad no one was there to see it in person, lol! Thank you for checking it out my friend 😄
Very cool, this is indeed a nice little park! Glad you were okay after your fall...I kept thinking, "Dear Lord, thank you for the ice, which numbed my bruises, and the snow that cushioned my fall; though both were factors in the accident in the first place." 😮😂

It is, yes.
Sad to see it unfinished and in ruins. There was a renovation to the cross years ago but the structures remain in ruin 🥲
