Happy Monday Marlo! I used to help a friend of mine who was an HVAC tech about ten years ago and we used Reflectix to wrap return air plenums and sometimes ducts. You showed a great use for it for car camping! Blacking out the outward side is definitely a good idea. You actually gave me an idea for blocking morning sunlight on one of my bedroom windows. When the sun makes it over the top of the hill, you would think a movie crew had lights shining in the south facing window! It is so bright, especially during the summer. I don't always want to get up at daybreak, so this is a much better idea than cardboard, lol!
That salad looked great! I could almost smell it through the computer! 😆One thing I used to do when using a picnic table in the winter is put my stove under it near where I was sitting. I had a single burner Coleman stove which was very similar to the stove you have and the heat would collect on the bottom of the tabletop. It didn't make me super warm, but it helped some. I would have worked better if I had draped a tarp over the table on the end closest to me and the opposite side. I don't know why I never did that since I usually had a tarp or two with me.
Having your truck nearly paid off is certainly Happy Dance worthy! 🎵"Dance to the music!" 🎵It's a great feeling for sure! I was sure happy when I got mine paid off!
When you mentioned there was something that peed you off, I'm glad you didn't say, "That AE guy!" Whew! 😆JK!! Someone parking right next to me is my number one pet peeve when there are plenty of spaces available. It's one of those, "You gotta be kidding me" moments, especially when it's my '68 Ford and I've parked about two miles from the door of a store unless it's a nice car and someone else is doing the same thing. Parking together eliminates door banging on one side of each car. Otherwise, nope! It used to really tick my dad off, and my mother would say, "You can park in the middle of a forty acre field and someone will park right up next to you." The first time I heard her say that when I was a child is when I dubbed it "The Forty Acre Field Effect." Something else kind of related to this is someone walking right through my picnic area when I'm eating, or through my campsite. There's "only" about 4,000 acres to go around, right?
I really enjoyed this video Marlo! I started to say, "I really enjoyed watching Marlo" but that could sound kind of creepy! 😂I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the stillness when you were panning the lake was amazing!
I hope you have a great rest of your week sweet friend! 🌄🏕👊👍😊

Saweeeeet tomatoes! Always fantastic to spend time in the woodlands without many people around. The reflectix is such a great piece of kit, so many great uses and awesome ideas plus tips on how to use it. Ooo a simple sexy salad Ooo Yeaaaa 🤤😋😅 .... One time I had the same experience in a parking lot. Car pulled up right behind me with all open space around my car it was quite annoying 😤 .... Look forward to the amazing adventures coming soon my friend, it's going to be absolutely awesome! 🤠🌲🤗

Thank you. Ya, I love this material and find there’s a ton of uses for it. There’s absolutely NO NEED for anyone to park up next to me or anyone else in a huge EMPTY parking lot.. it’s weird to me and rude. The salad was bomb and eating healthier has made a difference in how I feel. Always appreciate you my friend 🍃

Hi Marlo 👋 Thank you for bringing us through this adventure. Great advice with the blackout tips, reminded me of limo privacy glass. Having a sunroof for ventilation with but screen is advantageous so not to let lit-up from mosquitoes and gnats. And your salad cracked me up 😂.. With car camping, it could be awesome to do a state-to-state (and a month off of work)! Looking forward to your next adventure 🔥✌️🥗🍄

Great job on the window covers. Look well done and should serve you well. Yeah they are a little weird there, meaning park employees. They stare at you. Probably the same fella. We have the Albany Pine Bush or Barrens with the pitch pines and scrub oaks. Smells like the Cape. Loaded with ticks though. Too bad ya didn't get yourself some Fatwood. Believe it or not there is a difference in aroma from NY fatwood. I think the coastal air has a lot to do with it. But any case it all works the same and takes a spark. Miles Standish is a very cool place. When I went it was not that crowded. I think it might have been April or March. Cranberry bogs all over the place in that area. Carver area. Well anyway, yes, like fishing. You can be the only one there and somebody will show up and start fishing right next to you. When there is a whole lake to walk around. Very annoying and unsportsman like. Like they are missing out on something. Lol. Weird. And to update you, the Dragoon will be arriving on Wednesday along with the Conifer from Onetigris. Great job look forward to your next video. You should look into visiting the Adirondacks. NPT trail or one of the mountains on the east side of Lake George that overlook the lake. Trout Pond I believe is the name. Great job. Look forward to the next.

Ya, I love these window covers and they were easy to make. Satisfying doing it yourself and not just buying them. This area is pretty cool and I’ll be back to hit the trails on my bike AND collect some Fatwood 😉
Can’t wait to hear about what you think of the Dragoon.
Ive been to the Adirondacks but not sure if Ive been in that area you mentioned but in the Spring Ill definitely go out there to hike the NPT trail, thank you for that info. I appreciate you checking this out and commenting. Have a great rest of the week 🙂

Hey Marlo, great video! I like the window covers, they look good. Being able to sleep in your car opens up a lot more possibilities for places to camp and explore. Your salad looked scrumptiously sexy, lol. Myles Standish is a nice forest with some really great hiking trails. Glad you enjoyed your visit. I think it's a hidden gem.

I am with you Marlo. Only recently, we, as a family went and had fish and chips at a bay area near a park. Plenty of carparks and we parked the furthermost away as that as how we like things (or I like things haha) and this car came and parked right next to us and that made me feel the need to pack up and go somewhere else. I feel that way if there are many seats and someone randomly sits next to me,, or stands in my personal bubble. I am happy to meet and chat with people but I don't like people moving into my personal bubble unless invited. I think it reflects a lack of boundaries. It rubs me up the wrong way for sure..

    • @ExplorewithmeMarloC
      @ExplorewithmeMarloC  7 місяців тому

Mmm, fish & chips. A favorite but the batter has to be light and not too doughy. Especially if the parking lot is empty… like why come over and invade my space unnecessarily, lol. It makes no sense to me. Im definitely on the same page, I like to meet new people but get out of my bubble! 😅 appreciate you commenting and have a great week. I know it’s your summer there… enjoy.

Hi marlo. I love your hat and the happy dance. the window covers are a good idea. I have been to the myles standish forest for a family gathering years ago, we had a cookout out, the salad looked very healthy. I think you are correct about why people do that but I would agree that it is annoying to have someone park next to you in an empty lot. I enjoyed this video and please be careful sleeping in your truck. I was also wasn't expecting you to have a beer but Im glad you enjoyed your day off. Stay safe dear.

What a good idea for heat under the picnic table 😀🔥
This product really does have a lot of uses and it’s not expensive so that’s definitely a plus. I hope what you’re thinking of doing for your window helps.. nothing like the sun beaming in blinding you.. ugh.
I never understood why people park next to you in an empty parking lot, totally annoying. I’d feel weird parking up next to someone if they were in their car when I had an entire empty lot.

Ok so as I was watching I thought of something you can make with the reflective material, how about a ground sheet for you Dragoon tent I’m sure it can be done and you can fold it or roll it into the tent bag , I will be making one for my Snugpak ionosphere, you can cut it out in the shape of the bath tub of the tent, you do yours and I’ll do mine LOL

    What a great video!
To comment on a few things:
I know exactly what you mean about people parking close to you.
It happens to me all the time.
I think they park like that is because they have a better chance of someone driving through the parking lot without ramming in to their vehicle.
But it irritates me when they park up to my door.
Times like this I wish I had my old Ford with all the dents and repair right next to the drivers door.
    Your salad looked yummy.
I have a favorite salad dressing I like for 30 years now.
    Its really easy to make:
Get a salad bottle with markings on it.
    Good Seasons makes one.
Use the lines to fill in the ingredients.
    I use Balsamic vinegar
    Then water.
    And extra virgin
    olive oil
Then put in dry pack of Good Seasons salad dressing.
Shake well and pour on your salads.
I also use it to marinate fish over night in the refrigerator.
    Its soooooo good!
I cant wait to try your salad idea.
You look like you were in heaven!
    * Another great video with awesome editing
And a great lesson how to cover up those windows.
Have a great week...but thanks alot for bringing us along!
    👍🇺🇸

Hey Gary. That dressing sounds amazing. I haven’t had good seasons dressing in a while.. I’ll have to try that recipe for sure!
These window coverings are going to be great privacy when im in the truck car camping and can’t wait to use them.
It’s seriously annoying when it’s an entirely empty parking lot and someone chooses to drive over and park next to you, I’m always like are you for real?!?
I appreciate you checking this out and commenting my friend.. have a great week 😊

"One thing I forgot to mention is the salad dressing I shared with you:
You can marinate fish or chicken over night in it in container.
If you like spicey and not so hot foods try Pastene crushed hot peppers.
      Excellent on beef!
Most Pastene products are very good.
Let me know how you liked the salad dressing.
It a great compliment to your salad."

Hi. I bought a piece of rain guard for your house gutters from Home Depot, cut it for the size of my window in the back of my car. U can roll the window up and it wedges perfectly in between the window and the window seal. It has a screen and no bugs can come in. Hope this makes sense. If not. I can try to explain it again. lol. I didn’t think to make a video and post on my UA-cam. But it is AMAZING to let air flow and no bugs.. I got the cream or white. So I need to spray paint it black so it isn’t as noticeable. Safe travels. Been watching all your videos. New subscriber here 🙋‍♀️

My mother used to take me and my younger brother out to Myles Standish during the summer months and we would swim in this pond called College Pond. Dont know if that was the pond seen in this video as I know there's lots around there.
