    This really helped me understand the the settings in the dynamics system. The beautiful thing about this tutorial is that you're explaining the thought process behind the settings you're adjusting when you're problem solving. I've seen many tutorials where the instructor just changes settings but doesn't explain why.

    It looks like there's no need for attractor at all, I increased follow position/rotation parameters on the soft body and that did the job. Of course it not relevant to the situation where we need to influence the soft body dynamics and not the object position alone, but in this particular case it worked the best for me, thanks for the tutorial btw! :D

    Thank you! I like how you let things go wrong, (which is something that I often run into!! :D )
    And then you describe how to get out of that problem.
    That really helps learn what went wrong and why.
    Keep it up!

      Hi Segin! I always use Octane to render these and because not everyone has access to the plugin, I don't always go through the process (as it's often the same steps each time). If you want to see exactly how I've done the lighting and texturing, all the final render ready project files (which include all the lighting, materials and render settings) can be downloaded from our website: cgshortcuts.com/product/softbody-damage-in-cinema-4d/ or our Patreon page: www.patreon.com/cgshortcuts . We also have an in-depth course about lighting, texturing and rendering here cgshortcuts.com/product/octane-ultimate-masterclass/ ;) Thanks for watching!

    Once again - smashing tutorial! 👌 And once again I wished the tutorial included texturing and light setup ;) I must admit after following number of very popular Cinema 4d tutorial pages (not going to be dropping names) CG Short Cuts has become my favorite!

    • @CGShortcuts
      @CGShortcuts  6 років тому +1

      Cheers Aran! That's great of you to say mate, really appreciate the support! I put all the final setups and textures on the Patreon page for people if they need it, all funds we get from there go toward buying (the pretty expensive) software so we can keep making tutorials. We finaly just got X Particles 4 so hope to be bringing you guys some tutorials for that soon;) Also hoping to do more lighting and texturing tutorials and courses soon just a matter of getting time while working on the side. Thanks again for watching mate!

    • @CGShortcuts
      @CGShortcuts  6 років тому

      Hey mate, do you mean so it simulates differently every time you play it back? If so I dont think so, but if you want to quickly set up multiple variations you can add small amounts to the values in the scene dynamics tab, if you just add a tiny bit to the substeps for example you'll get a different sim, you can also randomise the postion of the falling blocks with the cloner seed value, loads of options really. Thanks for watching mate!

      @CGShortcuts  4 роки тому

      Hi Татьяна, If you want to see exactly how I've done the lighting and texturing, all the final render ready project files (which include all the lighting, materials and render settings) can be downloaded from our Patreon page here: www.patreon.com/cgshortcuts or from our website cgshortcuts.com/product-category/template-project-files/. I always use Octane to render these filese and because not everyone has access to the plugin, I dont always go through the process (as it's often the same steps each time). Thanks for watching!
