Beautiful, prescient film that restores the history of who and what a Briton really is. And how heartbreakingly beautiful are the shimmering, star-making turn of Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Belle and Sam Reid as the striving man of conscience who so completely and passionately loves her. A classic.
