So glad you enjoyed! The entire album is fantastic! You are the best! Explanation lyrics from UA-camr Patron Thorn Mr. Ruben, I have taken the opportunity to breakdown the lyrics for you. Some of it might seem incorrectly stated but it'll give you a summary of what it is about... “Blessed be the tailors The masks are cut to fit Blessed be the woodworkers The crosses and the gallows Blessed be the forgers of iron And the spikes and the barbwire Blessed be the stone cutters It took a quarry to bury the dreams” This is an indication that whatever your profession is, whatever you are good at in life is essentially pointless and advances the destruction of mankind. It serves no greater purpose than to end it all. Whether you are under the illusion / delusion that you are helping people you speed the end of all things to come - That is what nihilism, extreme nihilism. Your life, your dream, your world, your ambitions have no intrinsic value; the goal is to have to purpose and not living a delusion that you are worthy of anything. “Blessed be the misery, the filth, the discord and the horror Blessed be the lies, the guilt, the fear, the woe and the betrayal For these ones didn't need any outside source For these ones come from within” These are the so-called flaws of humans. There was never a need to feel these things or commit yourself to it, since it has no intrinsic or abstract value to exalt yourself. All these “man-made” characteristics and values serve nothing and that you, as yourself should not be influenced by it, since…well, life has no meaning, whatsoever. “And here it is Grown from within An invincible stronghold Adorned with death A suit of shining armour Replaced the skin And calligraphed sins Are as coat of arms Hollow!” This is the end phase of denying all forms of right and wrong. Belief of yourself to be above these “moral” attributes and exhume the “sins” people create to control others. You embrace the concept, as futile as it would be and rise above the pettiness of humans. Judgment upon you is as pointless as human nature intended. It draws the concept from religion to reverse or inverse the concept to draw out intelligence above power-hungry sycophantic nonsense. Using the so-called sins as your standing ground to prove a point - the point being that is has no point.
Mgla are the best black metal in the last 20 years, and for me top 5 metal band. One of few BM bands that are good enough to transcend outside the genre, If you are a fan of metal chances are you will like Mgla.
The drum Rythm changing up at 5:10 really makes for a difference... Sounds a bit more aggressive than in the first part and goes incredibly well with the Vocals. They know how to step it up and make it sound melodic, dark and still not over the top. Blastbeats are great and all, but there's to much BM that consists 90% of it and Mgla has found its own character here, for sure.
Glad you enjoyed it! It would be great if you reacted to Kriegsmaschine. It's another project of Mgla's musicians and it takes a more unorthodox approach to black metal, centered around inventive drumming. Personally, I can't decide whether it's Mgla or Kriegsmaschine that is my favourite band but it's definitely one of the two. Really anything from "Enemy of Man" or "Apocalypticists" is worth a listen but I especially recommend: "Lies of the Fathers", "Residual Blight", "The Other Death".
I would recommend: Elkenwood - Winter Cometh ua-cam.com/video/wYVjzlRyv8s/v-deo.html (That's the full Album/EP, it's the second song on it) A band from Australia which describes their music as: 'Progressive, atmospheric black/folk/ metal'. I originally thought they were from mountain Germany (Austria) ^^ But .AU is not .AT...
What is in your head? Mgla is a satanic band . They do not show and do not stick it out with great pathos like others. A thousand times I come across inappropriate / stupid comments. You many just get dirty in black metal. You do not want to think about its essence.
I'm quite surprised, I've never seen you react to a black metal act. Did you listen to Akhlys yet? A full album stream of their second record would be great idea, since it's...quite the journey, to say the least.
please, if you enjoy athmospheric black metal, you have to check out Panopticon from Minnesota. Especially the albums Autumn Eternal and Roads to the North
I started listening to BM in middle school when I bought (only cause I liked the covers) two albums by Gorgoroth, and it turned out that I really enjoyed them. They were "Destroyer" and "Incipit Satan" and honestly I still listen to those two, even if I'm not really into BM nowadays (I'm huge Laibach fan though). I'd recommend those two, plus maybe other projects with Gaahl, God Seed album and his Gaahls Wyrd, which is releasing debut album soon. In my days I was listening mostly to Darkthrone (still have "Under the Funeral Moon" hoodie), Marduk, Burzum etc., so rather bigger names. I would think that Agalloch may be to your liking from those more respected BM bands. You reacted to one song by Sigh, so you can return to them, they just released a new album "Heir to Despair", which is really good. Lately I was also listening to Kanashimi, which is Japanese atmospheric BM band. And on the doom (drone, sludge) side of things you could try listening to Corrupted, Boris ("Amplifier Worship" or "Vein" for example) and Birushanah. And you could try reacting to remastered version of DIR EN GREY's "UROBOROS" or their 2 cd version of "THE UNRAVELING", which are in my opinion their best releases. Cheers (and since I'm not a native english language speaker: sorry for any mistakes).
It sounded very muddy compared to what I usually like but I totally get what you said about it not wanting to be too polished. I really liked it overall. My only complaint is that the vocals seems very subdued, I can barely hear them over the guitar and drums. But when that shift happened, wooo ! I don't really care anymore about that ''detail''. It's a very enjoyable track.
Yuri for the most awesome black metal band from poland check out Deus Mortem they released album Kosmocide last year and it's fucking awesome, just as cool as Mgla, perhaps better in terms of pure black metal too. Easily one of the best black metal releases of the recent years, best one being Marras - Where light comes to die, that one is absolutely unbelievable black metal.
Weirdly enough, it's a pleasant listen. Not crazy about the vocals because there's no variation and I love varied vocals in a song. It feel very ambient somehow. Liked it! But not sure I would have made it last that long.
blessed be the cymbals
So glad you enjoyed! The entire album is fantastic!
You are the best!

Oh you are here as well :D
Nice to see you here Ruben. High five
The band name is Mgła, it's a Polish word meaning "fog". The pronunciation is closer to "Mmgwah"
i think "mist" sounds better
lol
@@Daniel-ve2bn agree
YOU HAVE TO SEE THE DRUM CAM FOOTAGE OF THIS SONG!!!!!!! THIS DRUMMER IS KILLER AF!!!!!!
Mgla are the best black metal in the last 20 years, and for me top 5 metal band. One of few BM bands that are good enough to transcend outside the genre, If you are a fan of metal chances are you will like Mgla.
A very conceptual album about misanthropy and decadence of the humanity...no minute more, no minute less...Masterpiece.
I really want to hear the full record.

Thanks for this video! I'm new to your channel and already like it! Try reacting to live version of "exercises in futility vi"
Drums build up here is fantastic
Their drummer is a monster.
I would recommend: Elkenwood - Winter Cometh

Really cool cymbal work.....lol....just wait......
MGLA is my fav black metal band.
I never liked the obnoxious satanic black metal.... kinda seems silly.

@@eventhorizon8087 how is it satanic? I only see nihilistic lyrics with some mythology, and great instrument playing ans vocals

I've covered some black metal, just not a ton. I'm really picky about it. I don't think I've heard Akhlys yet.

Awesome suggestion. I'm really picky about Black Metal, but I will give them a shot.
Worms by Ultar. You'll love it. You'll love their whole catalog

React to exercises in futility I. Probably my favourite song on that album.
Try Batushka.
React to Harakiri for the Sky - Heroine Waltz, Stillborn, or Voidgazer.
Mgla is pretty special brother they are amazing! :)
Yes they are. I'm very impressed.
If you like this try "Drudkh". Their newest Album is absolute Nuts.
Kroda and Kampfar too
Drudkh- his 24th spring. Will blow your mind!!!!

THOTH is the greatest Polish black - doom metal band for me.
I'll have to check them out.

I agree. I personally might have trimmed the length a bit.
