I'm doing the John Muir Trail in a few weeks, so I really appreciate seeing the current trail conditions for this section of the trail. Great job so far!
great adventure and you girls are making it look easy. It's not easy!. Good you have less snow while going over these passes and the water levels for crossing are lower so you don't have to wade across them like past years. This is a good year to go through the Sierra's Sheila
I appreciate seeing this! My niece 'Smiles' isn't too far behind you hiking the PCT and will be summiting Whitney as well in the near future. Happy trails!!😃💖
Wow, did it look like the bucket had been there a long time? I hat to be the person looking for their bucket and it's gone. Just saying. Great section. You are hiking animals. Keep trekking. 😀
Congrats on Whitney and Forrester. Interesting that the topo map in your link shows Mt Whitney's elevation at 14,482' ;-) One thing to keep in mind while researching elevations is that as technology has advanced, elevations have "changed", as the means of measuring have become more accurate. I wonder how many of the students out there know how elevations were originally determined. A little bit of trivia for you ladies... How do Island and Donahue passes differ from the previous Sierra Nevada passes?
so jelly of you guys going over forrester in great weather, it started dumping snow then rain with lightning when my group got to the base mid july 2019. we couldn't really stop so it was a bit scary going up and over haha. hopefully that bucket isn't someone's secret food cache or something
That is EPIC!! We have truly lucked out with some great conditions for SURE! Bucket was pretty old and everything was expired or ruined. We think someone meant to use it but never came back for it....
Thanks sticking with us on our adventure !

Good job evacuating the bucket!
Over zealous earth gooders! Bucket left in the ground there or nearby landfill- diff? Hike your own hike!
Peace.

We’ve met her!!! She’s awesome! 🥰
@@hrconthepct2724 sweet!! Hopefully she can catch up to you, I believe she is around Acton at the moment.😄💖
What I found surprising was that someone was backpacking a shovel like the one shown at 12:13. That looks really heavy!
It was buried with the bucket.... right on top of it!
Congrats on Forester! It's all downhill now :)

Yes I hope it was old and not someone’s resupply for this year.
Everything was old and expired and pretty much ruined.....
I too enjoy the duck icon on Guthook.
So little snow! Good for early season hikers, bad for our water supply down in the Central Valley :-(
So true.... tough year for CA.....
So you went out the onion valley trail head? did you hitch to bishop?
Congrats on Whitney and Forrester.

Ooohhh a riddle! We’ll get to work on that one!
Was it obvious that the bucket had been buried a long time ago? It wasn’t someone’s resupply for this year?
Super obvious... everything was ruined and expired....

I think they said the stuff in the bucket was old. Probably from prior years.
Don't you just love the fresh air, water, land? Jealous ,from the city, for now--
It’s amazing!!
that bucket was for emergencies think about that
Nah.... everything in it was old, expired, and ruined. And burying your resupply in a National Wilderness is no bueno.
