Oh you are BETTER than ever! So thrilled to see you back and I remain eternally envious of your ability to share and enjoy fabulous motherdaughter time together. Truly precious. Your enthusiasm is contagious, your videos stunning and your advice priceless. Thankyou....
Sorta saved watching this like a fine bottle of wine… so nice to see the fun on the trail and reminisce on the warmth and frolic of summer… and what blows my mind is that I never knew you guys were green screening… be well! Happy holidays!
When I was on Hat Creek Rim two sobo section hikers who had parked at Dunsmere offered me a ride to Seattle. I declined, telling them I preferred to walk.
What?? You guys are still out there!! Cool to see you guys again. Two more years....and then I get to go.... Great advice today.....little chunky goals.
I love hiking in the fall/winter. I'm 80 miles from Desolation Wilderness, and I will tell you, after the first snow, there is no one. (Some at the short day hike areas near Fallen Leaf Lake, etc., but after that, you have the Wilderness pretty much to yourself.) BUT...there are bears...Many bears. Hungry bears. Protect your food!
Good to see you guys finishing up the NorCal part of the PCT. Did not find your channel until you were mostly done. Besides your awesome PCT videos, you caught my attention with your Sisters, Oregon home base. As a teenager (am now 75) I lived on a cattle ranch 5 miles SE of there for 4 years and went to school in Redmond. Am currently retired with my wife of 50 years living in Eugene. No thru-hikes in my future. But, I do live vicariously through UA-cams of those of you that do. I still manage to get outside when deer and elk hunting in eastern Oregon, volunteering to backpack fish from an ODFW hatchery into small lakes in the edge of the Jefferson Wilderness and doing an annual 3-day, 2-night backpack trip with a brother in the central Cascades Wilderness areas, etc. Here's wishing you all the best on your continued hiking. Don't feed the bears (lol).....
I just bought two boxes of four complete cookies. What can you tell me about them? Stomach distress or just plain bland or ? Was looking for something different from the Cliff bars which I just can't eat anymore.
It is great to see you on the trail again. The two of you are so much fun. Your advice is excellent. Every prospective through hiker should listen to this segment.
Hi Ladies, great job! Did all of you bring chairs? if you didn't, do you wish you would have? I've carried a chair when bike touring, but never hiking, just a butt pad. Need to find blogging Trail wives, if I hike PCT again, you received awesome trail magic. LOL Thanks. Craig
The bear tracks and bear poop in your fake video is a nice touch. Good thing about a treadmill is that it is close to the bathroom and kitchen. Loved your videos and re-watch them from time to time. Your thru hike went by to darn fast though.
I enjoyed following your PCT ThruHike and just wanted to thank you for introducing us to Ridge Merino Wool. I live in Florida and prefer wool over synthetic shirts while hiking. After seeing your video visit of Ridge, I promptly order several shirts. What a great service to us wool wearers, BAAAA!
You guys are getting such great weather. If you had hiked there in the summer you would not have seen Shasta for the smoke. Great advice about backpacking/day hiking versus through hiking. I’m a day hiker or backpacker. Being on the trail I just go into pokey mode so I enjoy walking in the woods snd mountains. But I enjoy watching pct through hikers cuz you get to see things that I don’t get to see on a regular basis except on video and I e lived snd hiked all along the general area of the pct and day hiked portions of the pct. so you through hikers amaze me. My knees are destroyed from a bad car accident when I was 48 years old. They are better and poles snd braces help but there are some trails I can’t do anymore cuz I can no longer rock scramble. But as long as no scrambling the muscle memory gets me up snd over all sorts of trails with no rock scrambles. I know you muscle memory will kick it at the latest as you pick up trail is ending. But thanks for sharing your journey. I’ve do loved your energy and if I lived in nor cal I’d have loved to be one of your many trail angels. Keep up the good work. I’m glad you are finally getting to enjoy nor cal cuz it is beautiful when it’s not punishing heat and ablaze with multiple infernos
So glad you got out to mop up these miles. 'Heading Somewhere' ended up with a 120 mile road walk when the closures hit. Some completed all the PCT which was open. I think this is a great way to complete your through hike. As for the 'fake news guy', well, less said the better. Great video ladies.
Great to see out there finishing those miles in some good weather! Great advice on making smaller goals on a daily basis. The mental game is the real challenage!
Awesome… glad to see you two out wrapping it up officially AND no Heat Dome 🔥 The fall colors are beautiful , love the bear tracks. I have the Gossamer DCF Two tent. It’s a good choice 👍🏼.
Your advice is exactly right about the first two weeks of the hike. Much harder than the backpacking trips I had done all my life. Half the folks in my bubble dropping out in the first hundred miles, quite a few by Lake Morena at 20 miles. Many blisters on many people. Section hiking gives me the chance to experience this each year, though my preparation has gotten much better. It also allows me to meet many wonderful & interesting people, including you two amazing hikers who were flying up the trail south of Donner summit. Pine.
As a 2022 PCT hiker, this is great advice! Dixie has a video where she recommends certain towns to send boxes. Have you guys seen that video! If yes, would you agree with her statements since you did it 4 years after her?
Fun to see you two on the trail again. Beautiful weather and scenery! We have stabbed a lot of leaves on our trekking poles this month on our day hikes🍁’ Love hiking in snow so we can see what animals went before us. Bear tracks- coyote are ok but would be uncomfortable seeing cougar tracks. Nice ⛺️ tent. Stay safe!
Oh man wildlife prints! Exciting and a bit scary. I felt nervous for you guys when you showed those prints. And just to say I met up with these “frauds” in Washington for an overnight and the treadmill experience was amazing!!🤣🤣🤣 I’m sure the person who made that comment would not even have an ounce of the courage and grit you two awesome ladies have. Hike on you two....hike on. ⛰🥾
Your are lucky you didn't / haven't run into this guy (that is off his medications) on the trails. I agree with your comment about the different levels or types of hikers that are out there. We have been hiking for over 30 years now, just short hikes, nothing big. But, once in a while we have run into people who just shouldn't be outside on their own, without supervision. I think we just need to hike deeper into the backcountry to get away from those types of hikers. Getting yourself thru the beginning of the longer hikes, you do have to make goals. My brother and I did a hike which we connected to the PTC above Etna and my brother was tired and I boosted his spirits by tell him we did 1,000 foot elevation in 5 miles (in 2 hours) and if we were to do longer hikes, we would break them up into 2 - 4 hour hikes before taking a break. Then we could get 20 miles with no problems and if we didn't get 20 miles, who cares ?????? Hike our own hike. I agree with oldkayakdude on the purple poop.
Oh you are BETTER than ever! So thrilled to see you back and I remain eternally envious of your ability to share and enjoy fabulous motherdaughter time together. Truly precious. Your enthusiasm is contagious, your videos stunning and your advice priceless. Thankyou....
It's WONDERFUL. I don't take a minute with her for granted....
Thanks for sharing this awesome hiking adventure 👍
Great first day back. Love the bear tracks. Blessings and safe hiking.
Thanks for the mental tips. I always say, it's the journey, not the destination. Enjoy the journey!
Wonderful advice! Finished AT looking to section hike PCT next year.
Sorta saved watching this like a fine bottle of wine… so nice to see the fun on the trail and reminisce on the warmth and frolic of summer… and what blows my mind is that I never knew you guys were green screening… be well! Happy holidays!
I know it has feel good to get back out there. ✌️👊
I was worried about it, but it felt great!
It's nice to hike the PCT with your Great Grandmother 👵 😊
As someone who didn't get a permit...thanks for the words of encouragement. And thanks for the tips on chunky goals and mixing it up. stay safe.
You'll get one Doreen!
I love you girls!! Chunky days….
Bear poop probably a mix of acorns, service berry, choke cherry and whatever else you have out west along those lines.
Always a pleasure to see you pop
Up on my YT feed. Have fun!
Great advice! The trail looks really nice. Nostalgic for your videos.
Just walk on.....we can do that, 2022!!!
Go class of '22!!

I got a permit for late may, thank you very much for your advice! Congratulations on completing your thru hike and thank you for sharing your journey!
I just bought two boxes of four complete cookies. What can you tell me about them? Stomach distress or just plain bland or ? Was looking for something different from the Cliff bars which I just can't eat anymore.
They're fine! Just a bit dry and bland. Some flavors are better than others....
Missed watching you both hike!
It is great to see you on the trail again. The two of you are so much fun.

Thanks Michael!

Hey you girls, thrilled to see you two…..happy trails to you; hope it will not be too cold.
Nice to see you two out on the trail again. I am going to hope for being a member of the class of '23...
WOOHOO!! '23!
Me as well? I may take a leave of absence from school. I did not get a permit this year.
Hey, congrats. A lot of people wouldn't have gone back. Good Job!!
Wow! Bears n stuff 😬
Be looking forward to your next video.
Thanks for taking us along. 😉

It was kind of magical and I agree... much better than we we came thru the first time!
Chunky Goals, is that like chunky peanut butter? lol. Nice video.
JUST like chunky PB.....
Treadmills 😳🙄😂😂😂
So glad to see you finish. Baum lake hat creek area is our fishing spot. Greetings from Redding! I so have enjoyed your hike!
love from india keep going may be someday we will meet🤞
INDIA! Wow.... thanks for watching!
You two are amazing on trail.
You can really move out and clock the miles

Thank you for the advice. Love chunky goals! I will be a section hiker class of 2022. Doing CA/OR border to WA this year. Any specific Oregon advice?
I have one, beware of mosquito season.
@@kristymoore7052 Agree! Avoid July if you can. A last week of July start date might be perfect?
You guys are amazing. Great advise. So glad you laughed at the guy who thinks you guys are frauds. What a goof. Keep trekking. 😀

For a while it was "in" for some dudes to always comment: "I call B.S" It was a thing for a while.
So weird... but wildly entertaining!
Are you guys toting bear cans on this trip or did you hang your food here? Just curious. I love that you ventured out to complete the miles.👏💪
Thanks! We did not bring the cans.... we were just super careful.....

@@hrconthepct2724 Still waiting for that gear list video. Also, did you do a vid on where to send boxes, and what to put in them?

Purple poop maybe from too many purple shoes?
Purple shoes!

I'll have to check that out. We sent 12 boxes.

Megan thanks for keeping our secrets! #treadmills
Of course!! How you were able to get the smell of nature to be included on the treadmill walk was a bonus......must be some form of fraud magic!! 🤣🤗🧐🤣
All that bear activity and you cooked food at camp?! I'm going to be pissed if the next video is like the ending of Grizzly Man!
I think the bears are always out there... we just got to see their prints in the snow...
That dehydrated meal looks good.
It was YUM!

Great insight!
Ugh, Complete Cookies. No clue why some people love them so much. Tastes like flavored drywall.
YES! So dry....
I laughed at the muggles. That’s what geocachers also call non-cachers.
That's awesome!
Ha. Then I am a fraud to as I know I didnt see you at frog lake/wapinta pass in July. Gah.
