This was absolutely incredible. I've been following since the start of the a6300 days and you it's so awesome to see the improvement of your storytelling and quality over time. You guys seem to be doing well and living a very fulfilling life. I take lessons from you both. Keep on livin' guys!
Just watched this on my new MacBook Pro 16 M1... And I can actually finally hear all the small sounds and effects that made this a lot better then normal on my old MacBook. Not a shoutout for Mac, but its incredible that I can hear everything else I normally couldn't with your videos!
Even your welcome mat that says "Hello" makes me smile. Hope you both know you have it knocked at this moment in time, savor it. Yes, never complain about an adventure as there is good, bad and ugly and it is all GOOD.
Ha hard to remember that in the moment but it's always good to practice. We're just trying to enjoy these things while we can. Glad the videos can bring a little joy your way !
So nice. Your music in the beginning was so languorous, almost melancholy. I still can’t believe you do all your filming yourselves while doing your adventures. Thanks for doing these for us.
Glad you enjoyed it Scott. Sometimes I wonder if the music choices are appreciated. 😅 But yeah it's a ton of work. One day maybe we'll be in a position to hire some help but for now it's fun to do it all ourselves. Btw we're stoked to meet you soon! I don't believe you're on Instagram... But if you feel like making an account we've got an Alaska group chat going that I can add you to :)
Awesome video! If you two are ever back down near Joshua Tree, I’m very close to there so let me know if you need anything. Enjoy the upcoming holidays!
My wife and I will be out west for 3 weeks in January doing some light overloading and some hiking with our German Shepherd. If you two are out and about, it would be awesome to meet you two.
🎉Happy Birthday Cody!🎉 I strive do be doing what you're doing when I turn 30. I am 23 right now, and aspire to enjoy life just like you are! Thanks for sharing your birthday with us, felt like I was a part of the party ;)
Haha thanks Jayden. Crazy to think how long ago 23 was 😅 I've grown but definitely take the whole thing a little less seriously. Hope you can sort it out sooner than I did - no point waiting till you're 30. 😉

As always you guys motivate me to keep up! I'd love to see a video about rock climbing. I'm barely getting into it and a "tutorial" would be amazing for all the new people like me.
Hey Carlos. We might consider it. It's a touchy subject because people can literally die 😅 so who knows. If you really want to learn tho I'd highly recommend checking out your local climbing gym
Where abouts were you guys at 5:17? I'm doing Death Valley for the first time next weekend and looking for some good spots to car camp. Just subscribed keep up the good vids!
Love watching your videos since you guys were in living Tahoe. Originally from AZ and moved to NL Tahoe in July 2021, so awesome you have a connection to both! Always great content and chill music. Now with Van Life and the cute pup, what more could you want? Forecast for snow this week around the basin! So I'm sure i'll see you guys up on one of the mountains shredding. Thanks for the great videos!
What did you guys do with your doggo while you were out climbing in Jtree? I've always wanted to go but unsure of what to do with my pup! I've read that dogs aren't allowed in too many places in Joshua Tree.
Yeah it's a little tricky bringing a dog to any National Park, unfortunately😕 We went to Joshua Tree in November so leaving her in our van wasn't an issue. We also stayed at a few campgrounds in the park so she was able to hang around the sites. -V
Just so beautifully done. Some of my favorite creators on this platform. Always look forward to sitting back, plugging in my noise canceling headphones and relaxing while enjoying your guys' adventure and cinematography. Question though, I gotta ask, are you still using your Cine 4 PP? Some of these shots look so well exposed + the dynamic range.. its making me second guess why I'm using SLOG3 lol.
Duuude! This felt like a movie and you three (hazel) are for sure the main characters haha. And that ending with the camcorder was like a early happy 90s film. This style video was definitely top tier! Probably was super fun to edit too 👀😅 lol
Hi Cody, love these outdoor adventure vlog videos! I was curious if you are still shooting on the A7iii with your same Cine 4 profile? I've been using your profile the last 2+ years and been loving it on my A6400! I was also wondering which of your LUTs you are using in these videos lately? I purchased one of your BLUE LUTS packs a couple years back, but I'm not sure if you are using different ones for these vids. Thanks!
Love the shots and tempo of the video! I'm still kinda sad that you quit the more in depth camera and tutorial videos, but I might love these type of videos even more. Seems like they keep getting better and better too. Oh and happy birthday ofc :)
@codyandvictoria Love your videos. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Technical question for you, this video looks very different from your previous ones Image-wise verysharp and detailed (video looking) and less softness (film look) would you share what you changed in production? Thank you in advance!
Randomly found this video and it gave me all the feels! Made me miss touching actual rock. I never got to climbing in Joshua tree cause the rope my partner brought was too short Does your dog just patiently wait for y’all while your climbing or do you guys leave it in the van? I have an Aussie and i have taken her climbing once outdoors but we were with a big group so someone was able to watch her, if not I feel like she would have been running around looking for us haha
Depends on the crag/climb. In JT dogs aren't allowed so we leave her in the van with food and water and toys. The van is nice cause she can move around and actually "do things" whereas in a regular car they can't move much. Other times she will just hang at the base of the crag if we're climbing a single pitch. She never goes too far away and always comes back if we call her. :) We wouldn't leave her at the base without us though.
@@codyandvictoria How do you deal with no OSS? Is it a problem to you? But video looks really great. I guess Sony A7IV with active stabilisation will improve it even more. 😎
