Ocean France did make some quality ports
They certainly did! i thought Pang was a superb conversions, as was Toki 😍
Jurassic Park CD32 was developed but never released. Think i might even have a backup of it somewhere.
Hi, Robert! Thank you for leaving a comment. You worked on Jurassic Park for the Amiga didn't you? Was there much difference between the floppy disk and CD32 versions of the game? Why wasn't it released for the CD32? I ask this because Ocean did release quite a few titles for the system. Sorry for the questions! I'm just a little curious!😁
If you do happen to stumble across the backup, I would love to have an iso of it (If that's possible)😉
All the best!
Yeah i worked on the game but i didn't do the cd32 version. Main changes were just to make the game os friendly. We couldn't get the hardware chunky to planer to work any faster than our software did. Not sure why it was canned, probably because cd32 didn't really take off...
I remember Liquid Kids releasing on the PC Engine and Sega Saturn.
It's a game that I really need to spend some time on. I don't recall the game at all to be honest from back in the day.
Thank you for watching!
@@MrBads_Games It was featured in a German gaming magazine, I think. I think the magazine was called "Man!ac"
BTW: My Amiga game OceanThrill Murder Mystery is on Kickstarter right now :)
Fascinating subject this I always think Paul, unreleased games on any system are great to wonder what could have been.
Personally would have loved to have WEC Le Mans on the Amiga, that could have been fantastic
Thought Universal Monsters looked good aswell and you're right Snow Bros is great
Enjoyed that 👍✌️
I reckon WEC Le Mans would have been great on the ST and Amiga, especially if they did use the Batman the Movie race track as well! 😍 I'm really surprised that Ocean France spent thousands of man hours on games that Ocean DIDN'T get the licence for! 🤔Some of those games did look great though didn't they!
Thank you for watching, James! 👍🏻
90 Percent of Oceans games were pure shit. Bad euro coding.
Been looking forward to this...
Then you showed me renegade 3 🤣🤢🤮
Mutant league hockey is great fun, didn't know it nearly made it to the amiga.
Billy the kid, I neeeeeeeed it 😭.
Enjoyed that mate.
I've always got my eyes peeled for your missing Ocean/Hit Squad games mate.
Just when you thought that Renegade III couldn't get any worse!! 🤣
Good watch that Paul
Thank you Stu! 👍🏻
Some absolute treasures in there - finding Adidas Championship Soccer, Billy The Kid 😋 not to mention CD32 International Open Golf. I always think of you when I see adverts for Ocean’s FA Premier League with that fantastic Bob Wakelin artwork of Mark Hughes and others. I wonder if that will ever show up 😅 Issue 1 of The One reviews Where Time Stood still and says an Amiga version is coming - I think they made it up most of the time, the next page says Super Hang On won’t be coming out of the Amiga 👎
There are some right treasure in there mate! I feel really lucky to have come across some of those Ocean titles. I can't imagine that there's a copy of FA Premier League out there! We can only hope though mate! It would look fantastic too wouldn't it! I am slowly but surely learning how bad the magazines really were back then, with their BS!
Thank you for watching mate! 👍🏻
Great vid! Love the SNES box set in the background. Sold my Amiga 500 to get the original SF2 bundle. Regretted it a year later, sold the snes and bought an Amiga 4000 I think it was. Championship Manager ftw! :)
Thank you!😊 I would love to get my hands on an Amiga 4000. It's certainly one of my collecting objectives for this year.
I spent WAY to many hours on Championship Manager on my Amiga! What a game that was! 😍
TFX for the Amiga is now alot more playable on the PiStorm32. It runs at about 50 FPS.
I've never used a PiStorm32. I'll have to check it out! I bet TFX looks great running at that frame rate! 😍
I'd love to say I worked for ocean and have all those games...
Unfortunately I didn't and I don't...
Nevermind....
Cool to see the graphics i extracted from the Ocean France Development disks :)
It was great to finally see them! 😍
Universal Monsters was abandoned because it took too long to develop and it wasn't progressing into an actual game, it doesn't exist other than Simon Butlers graphics.
I quite enjoyed playing the coverdisk demo, but it's a shame that it didn't get finished in the end. Nevermind!
@@MrBads_Games Simon still has all the graphics he did for it, I'm not sure how Ocean could have cocked if up, they were nearly as famous for isometric as Ultimate were.
Marvelous video my friend. Ocean France is the best.
Thank you Fernando! 👍🏻
For information, I have preserved and saved Snow Bros original master disk on a sunday, 9 april 2006.
It's great that you did. Both games (especially Snow Bros.) play really well. Did you work for Ocean France?
@@MrBads_Games No i don' t :) I only have a contact.
TFX is now very playable post optmisations and on a PiStorm or 060 it is smooth a fun on an Amiga!
Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment! TFX looks great running at a decent framerate. I still haven't exprienced that myself, unfortunately.
Do you know if there is an ADF that has bug fixes avaliable for download?
@MrBads_Games I think the game was always hard drive only so the fixed version is a lha compressed file.
I remember a game called Project G2 or something like that that was a demo of an FPS/Dungeon Crawler style game. Never saw the light of day...
I've never heard of that one, will have to check it out. There were so many games that were cancelled, games that I couldn't wait to be released for the Amiga, especially towards the end. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment! 👍🏻
@@MrBads_Games no probs, you may need to look at cover disks of Amiga format or power
Will do, mate 👍🏻
If you have some graphics from Hammerin Harry dev disks, i have some :)
I would love to see the graphics from Hammerin Harry! 😍
@@MrBads_Games I contact you on Messenger.
Excellent stuff, Paul. Definitely remember a fair few of those from the mags at the time; Adidas Championship Football, Billy the Kid and Universal Monsters in particular. Disappointing really that some of these didn't get a proper UK Amiga release as a few of them had serious potential. Look forward to the next one mate, always love your passion for the 8 and 16-bit micros.
Hi, Alex! Hope you're keeping well. Thank you for your kind words!
It's a shame that most of these game never saw the light of day. Some of them however were really poor, especially Bill the Kid and Adidas Championship Football. I can see why they were not released in the U.K. I look forward to doing the next unreleased Amiga vid! All the best 👍🏻
Great video. How come you have boxes for games that were never released ?
Thank you! I did explain where I got the boxes from in the video. The first 14 games were not released, or a least not in the UK. The final part of the video were other games that either got withdrawn from sale or went straight to re-release.
@@MrBads_Games I actually watched the video without sound because I was in the train and forgot to bring my earbuds. My bad 😅.
Will watch it again with the sound on. Thanks for your reply.
I love Head Over Heels! I played it on Amstrad many times.
I still need to play that one. I keep meaning to but I never get around to doing so.
@@MrBads_Games There's also a remake PC version that can be purchased on GOG.
It’s weird because as you were showing some of these I could swear some had already been released 😀 just shows you how confusing it can be when there loads of different systems that churned out the same games. Interesting video Paul, enjoyed it 👍
There is a lot of overlap on the old micros isn't there🤔 I remember waiting for a load of these to be released, especially some of the tastier A1200 games.
Thank you for watching mate! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 👍🏻
Enjoyed watching. Some nice artwork on some if the boxes
Thank you mate. The Ocean artwork was some of the best game box art of the era wasn't it. 😍
Another great video paul . I loved flicking through the mags and seeing the awesome artwork on the new games coming out .
Poor ocean France by far the best programmers ocean had . So many of their games got canned .
Toki was amazing, so they knew how to program well and use some of the amigas extra power over the atari st
Thank you, mate! We got our hopes up on many occasions, just to be let down time and time again! 😤
At least we can play some of the games now though, albiet in incomplete form 🤣
Ocean France did produce some awesome games, especially Pang! 😍
