Gilbert was a character created for a late 80's Saturday morning show called Get Fresh (with Gaz Top). He was voiced by the 'other' DJ (Dave Clifton) from the Alan Partridge series as well as Stella Street. I used to love watching Get Fresh with my bowl of cereal! Might have to keep an eye out for that game myself. All the best mate!
I kind of remember him, but I was a tad too old by that point to watch the slimey green git! Thank you for the information though mate.👍🏻 It's quite a difficult title to find, but was re-released under the Alternative label too. Thank you for watching mate! 👍🏻
Hahahaha i remember that Gilbert thing on a kids TV show! dont recall the game though Great watch and lovely to see some of the less common speccy titles
Thank you Stu! I think Gilbert was slightly out of my age range in the late eighties, I don't really remember it! I did still enjoy watching Inspector Gadget though! 🤣🤣
I'll need a good five year rest before considering that one mate! 🤣 Those compilation alone are a killer, let alone the wrestling game! It would be a great one to collect for though. Thank you for watching, and leaving a comment 👍🏻
Someone had the brass neck to put Sqidj on a compilation????. Can't wait for you try that one 🤣 - Gilbert The Alien was the puppet on an ITV Saturday morning show called Get Fresh
I'd never heard of the game before mate 🤣 I'll give that a go just to see how bad it really is!! Thank you for the info re Gilbert 👍🏻 He's a disgusting looking thing! 🤣
I remember the adverts for it, but i think it was released before I got my Spectrum, so it passed me by. It's a very competent shooter though, and I did enjoy it once I got used to it. Your showing your age now mate (Before Shmup!🤣)
JET SET WILLY - YEAH 😺👍🕹️!! I bought DRAGON SPIRIT for my Commodore 64 as a tape version in a compilation called TNT (Tengen / Domark) from a local game store in Tikkurila Vantaa (Finland 🇫🇮) in October 2022. It cost only 10€ 😺👍🕹️.
Thank you Steve mate! 👍🏻 I hope you're staying out of mischief! I've never played Soul of a Robot. It's one I need to try as I've heard good things about it.
That C5 Clive is a new one on me but doesn't look too bad from the gameplay I got all those Ultimate cardboard games on Speccy but not really played any of them Turbo Esprit and Shinobi are nice finds and Silkworm looks good, never had that. Used to love the original Jack the Nipper, mine worked last time I tried thankfully. All the best Paul 👍
It's not a bad little game James! It gets a tad hard very fast though 🤣 My mission is to finish off the Ultimate collection this year, as I don't have too many left to get. It's got to be easier than the Hit Squads!!!!! Thank you buddy!! 👍🏻
Light Force is a cracking game I have the original release on FTL I also enjoyed the Amstrad release great nostalgic pick ups as always on the Specie mate
Never played Turbo Espirit? Wow, absolutely brilliant game! Light Force is impressive for its achievemens but I can't get into it TBH. Silkworm another great one, especially 2 player back in the day. All good stuff MrBad, some cracking pickups there.
I know, it's not something that I should be admitting too 🤣 I have heard some great things about it! There are some nice shooters on the Spectrum with Flying Shark and Uridium being my favourites. Thank you for watching mate! 👍🏻
@@MrBads_Games have you played the homebrew game Redshift yet? That's an incredible shooter. I did a vid of it a while back. I have sucj memories of Turbo Esprit, really felt like a real world back in the day. Got plenty of your vids to go back though🙂
I’ve lost track of which speccy budget sets you are going for now. The whole of Mastertronic? I’m mulling over falling down one of the smaller rabbit holes myself but the ones I think of as small (Firebird, Alternative) may not be. I guess Hi-tec are a known quantity. Also waiting to see which Amstrad set it is that you are going for.
I've lost track as well mate! I would love to get the Mastertronic set, so I'll keep picking away at it for now. I think that there are over a dozen subsets within the range though, and it will be a challenge to complete (Over 300+ titles). The Alternative set is very similar, quite large (200+ titles) with multiple different labels too. I loved collecting the Hi-Tec and Encore sets, which are both complete (minus any variants) I am not going for Code Masters on the Spectrum, unless I find a bundle containing the hardest ten to get (Which may never happen 🤣) Kixx is similar to The Hit Squad, and equally as difficult to complete. I have never considered Firebird (Not sure why!), so that is a bit of an unknown quantity to me. There are just way too many subsets, as you well know Will!!
@@MrBads_Games Atlantis is another I have thought about. Hmm, you’re “not going for Codemasters *on the Speccy*” you say? Leaves open the Amstrad perhaps? 🤔 Very interesting.
Not seen those blank cassettes before mate, everyday's a school day. Fairly sure I either had a demo of light force or it eventually ended up as a freebie with your sinclair? Thought the graphics looked great on Dan dare but I didn't like the games much, not my thing. Not a fan of underworld, great gift though. Never heard of time scanner, looks like a decent pinball simulator. Fairly sure I had a pirate copy of turbo esprit. Gilbert was an alien on one of the Saturday morning kids show, can't recall which one though, I have the budget re-release I think. Love your sinclair, great pick ups as always matey.
Now them blank cassettes are appearing everywhere I look on eBay! 🤣 I don't remember Light Forces outside of the advertsing. It's a good game though! I never got very far with Dan Dare either mate!! 😤 Thank you Dave mate!! Ah, your gift arrived today! Thank you very much Sir!!

Nice one MrBads, some good pick ups there. I recon it’s time to acquire the Codemasters set 😎

Light Force was originally released by FTL (Faster Than Light) which was an off-shoot brand of Gargoyle Games.
I don't think that I've ever played a game published by Gargoyle Games 🤔
Thank you for the info Darren! 👍🏻

Thank you, Adam! 👍🏻👍🏻
The Design Design game you were thinking reminded you of Underwurlde is likely to be ‘On The Run’
Thank you again Darren! It's much appreciated mate! 👍🏻
One the Run! That's the one!! That looked really good from what I remember.
Light Force was probably our favourite shooter (we didn’t even know the term shmup then😂) when we were kids👍🏻👍🏻
I remember the adverts for it, but i think it was released before I got my Spectrum, so it passed me by. It's a very competent shooter though, and I did enjoy it once I got used to it.

Loving the new vids Paul. Keep it up mate :) Underwurlde seems to play a lot like Soul of a Robot ... the way he falls etc...
