My name is Crosby and I'm a solo traveler, digital nomad, and full-time traveler! After a few corporate jobs throughout college, I quickly realized that the 9-5 lifestyle wasn’t for me. FYI: The Indonesian Ministry of Health have released their endemic announcement letter on June 12th, 2023 All travellers are welcome to Indonesia. No vaccine certificate required anymore effective on June 9th, 2023. Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Air Asia have updated and dropped their covid restrictions for Indonesia on their official websites and there will be a link on it to take you the new updated Indonesian Ministry of Health letter Number 1 if anyone is interested to read it if you can read Indonesian. Hope that helps.
However ( ! ) DON'T forget the airlines also have their own rules! Many Chinese and Japanese airlines still require vax and/or masks!

You can try taking from LA- Singapore next time and it will be less than 40 hours of flight, prob half of that.

My longest journey was from Darwin Australia to London England, Darwin to Melbourne then Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur , KL to Dubai, Dubai to Heathrow.
Then on my return Heathrow to Dubai, Dubai to Brunei, Brunei to Melbourne, Melbourne to Brisbane, Brisbane to Darwin, I have spent an hour or two in between each leg of the journey waiting but it was an amazing 1 week holiday. (Yes....1 week holiday)

Just a word: it's often considerably cheaper to book a one-way flight from your home to a major hub. Example? I travel this route quite often and take one-way flights from my home base in Albuquerque to major west coast interntional airports like LAX or SEA. If I booked directly from Albuquerque to Denpasar (Bali), the flight could cost between $400 and $800 more . I can fly to either LAX or SEA for about $120. Example: one-way, Sept. 5th: Albuquerque to Denpasar: $977,
Albuquerque to Los Angeles (LAX): $99-$124.
Los Angeles to Denpasar: $690.
(P.S. I'm doing Seattle to Denpasar in August - via Singapore. 16-hour flight, but a 22+-hour layover in Singapore - which is the only thing to look forward to!)

What did you think about Frankfurt Airport? I changed from one Lufthansa flight to another last year and felt like I had to walk a mile and went through two annoying security checks on the way from one gate to the other.

Please report how you are liking your new Osprey 40L. I have a Osprey Waypoint 65 and need to get a smaller backpack for the same reasons.
For this length of a trip, it's a bit too small I'm finding but it works really well for a few week trip!

40 hours? wow..... I think there is a flight via Japan or New Zealand/Australia to cut that time.
I have a question. I have never traveled to Europe, Bali, or long distances like those. How much time off of work do you take? Is your whole vacation, flying, relaxing etc, 7 days?
2 weeks minimal if you want to explore Bali. That included a lot of other beautiful island like Lombok, Komodo, RajaAmpat or others amazing place in west part of country
