My mechanic made me Change the egr valve the whole kit and the engine harness was the reason why the egr was not working so I had to replace the engine harness after replacing the egr valve which I didn’t need. Thank you Francisco your videos really help a lot
Yes if he used a computer to diagnose it the computer program will walk you through steps and one of them is the egr valve. If the arm wasnt moving to the proper spec it may of told the tech it was condemned. And to replace it.. that is if he was honest and you never know it may have been going bad. Like i said if he was being honest. We've had the same problem for the past 3 days. It turned out to be a faulty harness but it lead us down several different routes

Francisco, I've been getting SPN 4374 FMI0 twenty days after replacing the DEF pump. My garage found some damaged Def lines to the One-Box. We replaced those and it ea good for a week and then it came back, derating 25%, then 55mph and one night I was making it home to get to the shop (800 miles) and it derated 5mph when I was fueling. I reid to clear it with a Nextech but it wouldn't. When I was parking for the night anyway and when I backed up to park the STOP light went out. I didn't test it, until morning and when I started it was not derated and had no errors. These returned when I got home. We replaced the One-Box sensor harness, the DEF pump harness and the main Def harness between them. This was good for two weeks and then the SPN 4374 FMI0 returned. I can clear it but it returns at varying intervals. If it stays out it does seem to dose. It's this possibly a harness issue? This is a 2016 DD15 in a Western Star 5700. Love your videos!

At first we thought maybe the header was split as we've seen temperatures approaching -50f this winter. I suppose it's possible the pump is defective. The fact it works some of the time makes me suspect.
Check with the dddl software, RPM must be at 1100 +/- and press at 145 psi +/- if I remember correctly. Higher RPM and low and equal press as described means bad DEF pump. It happened to me couple times, new pump right, but it is defective. Frustrating... 🧐

Going to replace the harness anyway because the spinner has 1.3V across pin 1and 3, and 1 to ground and should be 5V and I sometimes get these ABS codes at startup but they always go out after 5 minutes and don't always come on anyway. Obviously at 7yrs old the harness is showing its age and this certainly won't hurt.
Can you make a video to replace a head gasket on the DD15. I replaced the head gasket on my DD15. I sent the head to the machine shop and had it rebuilt. After I put it back together it began to leak oil. It looked like it was coming from the head. I again replaced the head gasket and had the head rechecked for warping and cracks. The head was fine. I put it back together and it leaked oil again. Do I need a rebuild?

Hey Francisco, my truck does not start I changed ignition, power switch, I changed the new starter it works few days than suddenly it stops working. To go somewhere I have to start by bypassing the starter to start the truck with a wire.
I have a 2012 cascadia dd15 had a injector harness leak and oil was making contact with the back engine harness. Got a injector #1 code then after I stop #3 would pull a code also. I can unplug the harness and plug it back in and codes go away truck runs normal. It only pulls the codes if I'm pulling a load. Do I need to replace the injectors or the engine harness?

Could the wiring harness cause eec 61, ecu 1, and no eng. Codes on 2013 cascadia? Truck will not start, and before the truck would die and restart while driving, the fuel gauge and def indicator would just quit and stay off. Then the dash would light up like a Christmas tree the engine fan would come on, then everything would go off after 30 seconds then run fine, but did it 6 times when I got truck home turned truck off, and would not turn over anymore sense then. It says I need to replace acm because of internal fault code, but I checked fuses, in sam chassis and ecm but none I found blown, what would cause it, please help, thank you. Joel.
I have same ? Replaced harness and cab computer ! New from freightliner. Still no start ? Moved on to fuel pump and put on a two filter fuel housing. I wonder if plastic gasket material broke off from high pump gasket ? Plugged my injectors ? Can see broken round gasket on old seal ? New seal has bigger ports ? Was this gasket a factory defective? Maybe ?
It’s happened 2 times already I’ve got codes spn3509 fmi 4 and spn 3563 fmi 4 One time truck was towed to dealer shop. At shop at evening time nobody could connect computer to truck. But in the morning all active codes gone and mechanic said that he can’t start working without active code I worked about month and last Thursday it’s happened again . I came to dealer shop in Michigan they said that they can start work only next Tuesday I start moving toward Chicago and after one hour driving with half power and four way flashing everything gone again. At the end of the day I’ve got four active codes an I have to stop for all night In the morning all active codes gone again Francisco, what you would advise to your friend? Change the engine harness? I have a question about a sensor on the 2010 Cascadia. My AC doesn't work anymore and my temperature reading on the info panel in the dash says 00°F. My question is, would the ambient temperature sensor cause the power to the AC compressor to not work? The sensor is on the bumper, on the passenger side. Francisco I have a 2014 freightliner Cascadia DD13 engine and I recently got the delete and two injectors replaced at the same time as the delete and now when when I'm hauling a heavy load up hill my check engine light comes on and then I lose power the truck D rates but when I turn the truck off and let it sit and restart my Truck the check engine light turns off and then it starts driving back to normal and gets its power back what do you think could be the problem that's my question
That is a secondary effect of the delete. All truck have different effects but the common one is that on. It is related to fuel delivery to the DPF, they need to delete the Dozer injection system to eliminate that problem.
Hi Francisco I have 2008 cascadia with series 60. Everytime it rains and I'm driving or when I get engine washed I get check engine lights saying cyl #4,5,6 injector and I barely have any power. What's your guess on that, is it the engine harness. This only happens when it rains. Thanks so much.

The Cascadia come with a Eaton solo clutch (self adjusting clutch), if it has the OEM clutch you don't have to adjust the clutch never until you need to replace it with a new one. BUT the Eaton solo clutch gets adjusted every time you press the clutch. my recommendation, press the clutch two times before starting the engine to get the clutch adjusted. BUT, often. People replace the clutch and the install a eaton easy pedal clutch (manually adjusted) this is not the recommended clutch for a Freightliner Cascadia but people install them because it is cheaper that a solo clutch.

yes, short hood trucks are extremely difficult to work on. the right way to do a engine wiring replacement, the oil pan has to be remove but it can be done faster by breaking the cross bracket of the harness for a faster installation.
Hi, I have a freighliner 2015. HORN NOT WORKING. I replaced the horn and check the Fuse is good, just don’t know if there is a relay for the electrical horn, it used to click when I press the horn and now it is not clicking it anymore.
Replace the steering wheel interface wiring, you have to remove the steering wheel to replace it. If that doesn't fix it, you have to replace the SAM CAB module

That refers to a low DEF pressure, the DEF pump is defective or there is a leak somewhere.

Just a follow up. Left the extra plug loose and everything works fine. Guess they make these replacement harnesses as a one size fits all.

from the pump to the fuel module, yes. no mandatory but it makes it easier.

It is possible, replace the sensor with a new one.

Maybe you have to check the injectors connections, they can be not properly secured.

It varies between 5 to 7 hours putting the harness right where in belongs.
