I used this video to diagnose my engine fault code. I replaced the Delta P sensor and the pipe it connects to. The light stayed on at idle, but after 230 mile with a empty trailer, when I stopped for fuel and turned the truck off, when I turned it back on the light went out. Thanks for your videos. That EGR pipe is called a Venturi. Also you are doing good, I do this for a living and have for 40 years. Have also been to school on the DD series engines put on by Detroit Diesel.

Check your turbo actuator arm. I had that issue without codes. Turns out the actuator arm was frozen.

In my particular case, all I had to do was clean the 7th injector located behind the turbo and problem solved. You can try that before anything else. After I cleaned it, the light will still be on but will eventually go off after a few cycles. Again, that was my particular case with same codes.

Buenas tardes @francisco Amaya oye una pregunta, tengo dd15 y le cambié la Egr actuator y el engineer harness pero sigue fallando mi camión, me marca que mi EGR está fallando, pierde un poco de fuerza y mi freno de motor dejo de funcionar. Acabo de limpiar el delta sensor y las pipas pero no cambio nada, mi último recurso es cambiar el delta sensor. Mi pregunta es si mi delta sensor está dañado eso causa que no habrá ni cierre el Egr valve??

First thank you for your videos I watch them all very informative. I had my wastegate replaced and now engine keeps calling for regen with derate I just found three loose clamps and one clamp not tightened at all could this be causing my problem. Thank you for your time
En 2014 Cascadia el boost pressure no pasa de 24psi y no tiene check engine o fallas alternas ya esta bypass el Def pero esta asi desde antes de hacer el bypass. Alguna idea que me pueda ayudar?

Question got a 2015 cascadia with a dd15 ran great when first bought it serviced it and then after that it’s like when you step down on the throttle to pass someone or just get going it has no power fuel system seems no leaks or anything but it acts like it’s not getting enough fuel any ideas on what causes this
Hi, does having this problem make the trucks temperature go up even when idling?
Damn I need that software in my life. All the times I tell the service tech what the truck is doing while I'm driving and they can't replicate it at idle so the problem never gets solved.
You can get an unauthorized copy from epcatalogs. I think it was about $250. It's been several years since I bought it. The expensive thing is the USB link device to connect you ECM to your computer. Those cost about $700. You can get a cheap Chinese knock-off for about $200. I didn't chance it though and shelled out for a real one.

I have a 2015 cascadia with dd13. Its was pretty much doing the same thing. Its still under 30 day warranty. Took to shop all they did was check for code and change that same sensor. I think they should have check the things u did. How can I get them to do what u did?

Hello tocayo! I have a 2012 Cascadia with DD15... I just had an inframe overhaul done... truck runs good but loses power on uphills even with light loads... check engine light turns on and off... and sometimes stays on for a few minutes... I had it in the shop several times but no one can figure it out... computer shows all operations are good.... any ideas? Thinking there may be a problem with the EGR System ??

Please help. I've been having issues since October 2021. Check engine light, solid engine light, red stop light, followed by derating 25%. I eventually broke down. Replaced turbo & EGR actuator, delta P sensor twice, cleaned holes.
Same issues intermittently without breaking down. My mechanic found the actuator isn't closing the egr valve 100%. Do DD13's need the spacer bushings behind the actuator where it mounts to the block? He thinks the actuator arm is not lined up correctly if the spacers are missing. Please let me know what you think. It's been 5 months with no solution.

Hey I have a 2011 dd13,I had the same issue just built up in the egr cooler, after I installed the cooler, the egr vavle at idle is constantly cycling in an out of egr flow you can see the egr actuator constantly sweeping, ran dddl troubleshooting out any help would helpful, tested mcm harness as well as harness plug for egr actuator, as far as reading for egr vavle goes for 10 percent to 40 percent constantly, Parts replace EGR cooler, Delta P ports clean sensor replaced, ehr actuator replaced also slow learn routine done, mcm was updated to current software, any help would be great

Took it to numerous mechanic it idles rough like a tick noise sometime and when in 10th gear it feels like it's going backwards when I'm Bob tailing so I keep having to downshift. Engine boggles down

If you deleted your DPF system and there is not warning lights related to it, you must check your DPF filters since they get clogged after a while.

Great video. I have one question. I have taken my truck to the mechanic shop 3 to 4 times already.
The problem is when the truck ask for regen and then I park and start the regen manually by pressing the regen button and then it starts revving up the RPM as usual and then after few mins the fan starts and then the truck jumps every time when fan clicks like it misfires or something and then after truck regen sound goes to normal but RPM stays up between 12 to 1300 rpm and its not doing anymore regen but acting like it's doing. Please advise the truck is 2014 cascadia

This means a low regeneration temperatures and it was cancelled.

Would a bad egr cause low intake pressure, I changed sensors and air filter and everything I could think if however I noticed that my egr isn't rod isn't moving back and forth like it use to do.

@ob834 I don't know if it was a bad CPC4 causing my issue or not but since replacing my CPC4 in Nov and having it reprogrammed I haven't had that code pop up but again most of the time the code would throw in warmer outside Temps we will see as we move into warmer weather. Check back with me at a later date and I'll let ya know if it throws a code.
Thanks much for your reply! I was told by the Michanic that it could be my MCM failing I just replaced it and after driving 100 miles same issue again. The codes sometimes clear out for just a few miles then pop back on the two main codes are spn 5357 fmi 18 and 3563 fmi 18.
@ob834 this shit has too many computers and electronics on it to really pin point the issues, but I'll know more about the intake manifold pressure code when it gets warmer outside. If it doesn't trigger the code then I'd have to say it was the CPC4 starting to fail and I'd recommend getting yours repaired and reprogrammed, I'll keep ya updated

Just had this problem today. 2012 dd13 Took off the egr pipe no clogs cleaned sensor took off egr cooler pipe to egr no water egr actuator moves freely egr valve moves freely could the vpod be why I am getting the low air flow? I replaced air filter 3 fuel filters I can start truck and as soon as I go on the road and press Accelerator pedal it does nothing dead no power kinda jerks gains power for a second then nothing again had to creep to yard at 5 mph it will rev at idle then if I hold it it will lose power at idle very aggravating. Was setting the egr code 2659 after cleaning everything now the code is low air flow 2631 but same symptoms NO POWER I have a snap on scanner and I can actuate the jake brakes but when I actuate the egr it does not change % on scanner I hate these freaking trucks when they break down. Any ideas would be great. Also my fan is staying on all the time this all started when my water pump went bad shut down light came on replaced water pump and fan is staying on all
Kt Carroll sounds like a engine harness .. these trucks have issues with chaffing wires.. with the low air flow code.. I usually find wiring issue along front of the oil pan where the harness runs across..

Spn 2791. Egr valve actuator position incorrect. I've replaced the actuator, the delta pressure sensor and new venturi pipe, still have the code. Also power loss in low altitude areas. It seems to pull better in the north east part of the country than down south, Texas and Oklahoma areas. Any ideas Francisco?
