Rachmaninoff’s 24 Preludes are pianistic masterworks of the highest order. Each prelude expresses the deepest emotions of the Russian master, from ecstatic joy and tolling of bells, to Slavic melancholy and utter tragedy.
This unique live recording by Lukas Geniušas is a feat of extraordinary concentration and technical mastery. Played in the big hall of the famous Moscow Conservatory, it displays Geniušas’ prodigious gifts: supreme control, strong sense of structure and a sincere and warm projection of the human emotions of the music.
Lukas Geniušas, born into a family of musicians (his grandmother was the legendary Vera Gornostaeva), is Silver Medallist of the 2010 Chopin Competition, and first‐prize winner of the German Piano Award and the Gina Bachauer Competition

Lukas Geniusas performs Rachmaninoff with such profound feeling and breathtaking lyricism that I'm quite impressed with his efforts and results here, which are astounding. Over the years I've played these pieces which have hidden difficulties and unexpected contours at times, but well worth every minute of the effort, I must say. The acoustics and sound engineering are also great. Accolades to Brilliant Classics for posting such a monumental oeuvre as Rachmaninoff's complete Preludes. This has been a totally sublime listening and nostalgic experience for me!
I too ATTEMPTED to play seven of them(Opus 23, Nos 1 and 6; Opus 32, Nos 5, 6, 7, 10 and 12-my favourite of them all) for local amateur concert items and my own enjoyment MANY long years ago, but I enjoyed this seemingly effortless, powerful and polished performance by Lukas G. far far more.

This was a great performance of these monumental works. Rachmaninoff's preludes ain't for the fainthearted or amateur: They were written by a top pianist for others of his ilk, but I have not previously heard any of the modern breed play them as whole opuses. I feel the present young South Korean piano lions could also do them justice if they wished. Thank you BC, with Lukas Geniusas you've done it so well again.!!!

Hi guys! Just a suggestion: Try to better place the ads! I am a fan of Brilliant Classics and this video is excellent but it'd be great if you could put the ads in a different part of the video, and especially not in the middle of a piece! Thanks for sharing this marvellous music.
ads are my nightmare... try some ABP, yes, it will make your browsing slower but at least you'll be able to enjoy a quite without getting the startle of an adv.
Rather than reposition them, how about you just get them the hell OFF.
