This well filled album contain the complete transcriptions for piano that Rachmaninoff made of compositions of various composers. Also on this album is the complete Moments Musicaux, Op. 16 by Rachmaninoff. Being a celebrated pianist and a genius composer, Rachmaninoff didn’t literally transcribe, but added his own unique pianistic and compositional features to them, creating as much his own masterwork as is the original. Ranging from Bach (3 movements from the Violin Partita in E), through transcriptions of his own and Tchaikovsky’s songs, Mendelssohn’s Scherzo from A Midsummer Night’s Dream of hair-raising difficulty, he ends with fashionable transcriptions of Kreisler’s Liebesleid and Liebesfreud, a pianistic tour de force and favourite encore.
As a substantial bonus Alexander Ghindin plays the complete Moments Musicaux Op. 16. Ghindin, one of Russia’s foremost young pianists, has the true Rachmaninoff feeling, a mix of melancholy and grandeur, playing with stunning virtuosity and panache.

Thought he was only a composer like the Masters. Good to know that he is a piano wizard as well.
"was"

@Pedro Leighton i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Rachmaninoff: the composer's composers, leaving the rest well behind. He understood the human soul and composed his music from the depths of his own.
Finally, one of the best interpretations of these beautiful & difficult pieces ever!

Here are some of Rachmaninoff's most delightful and esoteric pieces, beautifully and deftly interpreted by the genius of Alexander Ghindin, who truly shines here. This obscure, difficult repertoire is lovingly brought to life, as if it were a sculpture in bas-relief.
"The true Rachmaninoff feeling, a mix of melancholy and grandeur", thanks for the definition, that seems to me to capture the essence of music and personality of Sergej Vasil'evič Rachmaninoff, "The last romantic".
Спасибо большое за замечательный сборник. Полёт шмеля просто поразителен! Благодарность исполнителю за изумительную скорость.. Это одна из гениальнейших композиций всех времён!
What a beautiful compilation of works by the titan, Sergei Rachmaninov. The pianist, Alexander Ghindin, is superb in understanding the nuances of Rachmaninovs works. Notwithstanding, the sound of the piano is INCREDIBLE!
I love Rachmaninov's work, this is amazing!
Those transcriptions are as gorgeous as difficult to play. Nice performance, it's a huge endeavor to record all these pieces.
Those ads in the middle of this beautiful music is criminal
Yes, but its free baby boiiii
Quel plaisir d'écouter cette magnifique musique !!! J'adore Rachmaninoff !!!! Merci !!!
Hats off and a superlative thank you to brilliant Classics for this new treasure! It is a blend of genius-level transcription and genius-level playing. I'm so delighted with this!
Hermosos los "Momentos Musicales", poco conocidos y geniales sus diversas transcripciones para piano. Toda una novedad. Gracias.
As transcrições dos Bach são lindíssimas!
A brilliant set of performances by Mr. Ghindin.

Hello everybody. Does anyone know some info on the painting featured on the cover? Thanks in advance.
Check it out on your next trip to Moscow! "Summer Landscape" (1879), by Ilya Repin, Pushkin Museum

helpful!!
I wonder why "Daisies" is the most repeated part of this? It's lovely but not outstanding. I would have guessed the Flight of the Bumblebee would be most replayed.
Thank you!
