a dragon guarding the reactor would be so fucking weird. putting the materia keeper there is better. also, remember the Hell House? when it was only encountered in random battles, but they turned it into a freakin' boss fight? they probably did the same with the dragon.
I love this game with all my heart but I really think they should stay with the original story. I prefer that they lead every character to their original role.
Wait... you've played the original and still think Sephiroth is mysterious? That doesn't even make sense... you've PLAYED the game and beaten it. You're projecting on new players as if they have the same experience and knowledge about him as you.. and they don't. You're basically complaining about nothing at all.
Its a remake though. It doesn’t matter whether your aware of it or not… the original game spent midgard setting him up and the remake sort of squanders this by just having him do the scene in the first HOUR of the game. Hell… you fight him as a final boss. There are some things you don’t just blow your trap card on in the beginning of the game

If seeing Zack alive didn't turn the light bulb on in your head that the Sephy we are seeing is not the OG sephy and the game we are playing is not the exact game... then I don't know what to tell you. Sounds like it's not a dev problem but a you problem.

What makes me upset is that for a game called Final Fantasy REMAKE, the whole point is you are remaking the original source material for a newer audience, not completely changing the canon. If that’s the direction they were going with… it should’ve been called Final Fantasy REIMAGINING, but instead they chose Remake because that’s an easy way to hook audiences to buy the game. Don’t get me wrong… I still love FF7R… but the OG is my favourite game ever made. So I’m allowed to critique things I like/don’t like. If said reasoning behind why I dislike FF7R is stupid… then that’s just my own fault. However if its reasonable, its at fault of the game too. For instance… why tf did the game seriously make me want to care for Sonon when we knew he was dead meat because he never existed in the original (that and Yuffie never went to Midgard in OG)
Lol i will never understand the appeal of these games, every sentence coming out of them is worthy of a cringe award. It’s like a 13 year old wrote the script and 14 year olds acting them out. Im so happy i bever played them so I have some nostalgic nerve for them so I have to defend liking it. Liking final fantasy is like enjoying the smell of cigarettes and alcohol because that’s what your mom smelled like who was nice to you most of the time…

I hope the release version doesn’t have Cloud at lvl 40 same as Seph. That’s the only part of the demo I didn’t vibe with.
