Cant wait for part 3... and beyond. They hinted the ff7 universe wont end after the trilogy is finished. Im expecting spinoffs
I like the OG and I like remake and rebirth
Both are different, but also good games in their own rights. You can enjoy both.
Power of friendship ahh comment. gtfo
I dont care abt graphic but the game play was top notch bring me my memory childhood since 1997. Thanks Squaresoft!!
Still hilarious that in both versions, Hojo won't remove his labcoat to relax on the beach........
I watched a podcast recently where someone criticized Rebirth for not removing Hojo's lab coat for the beach scene because they misremembered the original and somehow thought that Hojo was half naked in the original lmao.
I agree and can be fine with that, ain’t nobody wanna see these old bones
I like how they made it made sense for him not to remove it in a way. He was working
Thanks. I've been looking for something like this. 👍
how far along we've come
You kind of need a crt tv to appreciate graphics of the original. 240p would be drawn every other line. It’d still look really polygonal but the backgrounds would look a lot nicer. The emulator makes it look all pixelated and way worse .
Max payne 1 2001 had batter graphics than gta 4 2008 (・ω・)
When I first came out of midgar into the greenlands nostalgia hit me really hard man from OG.
You still get people say Rebirth ruined the OG FF7.
I loved the OG don't get me wrong, but rebirth is an amazing Remake with so many great ideas, they have still respected the FF7 universe so to speak, whilst keeping things fresh for people who know the OG from the back of there hand.
No. Just no. Remake is a terrible game. I couldn't even finish it. I'm sick of tediously crawling through narrow areas.
I'm also sick of Tetsuya Nomura as a game director. Every single one of his games are the same crap.
Bless you for uploading this, exactly what we needed! it's amazing how much the FFVII world was recreated to accurately. Masterpiece.
38:24 gave me Tears. 😢
Amazing Video what Shows what a great Job Square really done with that Game.
Man this game is amazing
Thank you so much for this😍
After all these years, Aeris‘s death hurts so bad. Brought me to tears again 😢
they are both great. when part3 comes out, ff7 remake part1-3 will be prasied even better than original. some people say rebirth's storyline(include zack, multiple world) kind of confuses and i agree that too, but there's also so many better scene, showing of characters' partnerships than original. i hope this game would not be devaluated by haters.
It’s sad there are some people out there that didn’t live long enough to experience the magic this remake captured. Might be my game of the year.
I will buy the games when the third one is out.
Not trying to tell you what to do with your money but if Rebirth wont get more sells i'm not sure we gonna have a part 3, at best it's gonna have a smaller budget. Right now it's just not looking very good for square commercially, and that's a shame cuz the game is amazing.

Its such a shame the comment's in every ff video turns into a competition...ff7 vs ff7r , tifa vs Aerith, cloud vs zack ...shut the fuck up already , the fucking internet is poison. Being someone who played the og in 97 and it being one of my all time favs, it was a dream come true seeing these characters brought to life with modern day graphics..like if you truly love the world of ff7 then surely seeing it brought to life like this would be an emotional moment it was for me and ive embraced the changes. Also if you actually are paying attention to the clues and hints, it's not straying too far from the OG as you might think. OG is great and so are these remakes.
They made this incredible as remake
You skip corel ascent that was in og too. You went straight to rails.
It is awesome how they remake places like gold saucer or cosmo canyon but it is also a shame how they remake shinra manor (I hate that lab with cait sith mini game). I hope in next game we can explore all the forgotten capital (I know it is an empty place but I would like to do some research there) in OG FF7 after aerith fate you are also there and go north however in rebirth the last cinematic is not in forgotten capital. By the way rest in peace bone village and its diggers they never made it to rebirth
This comparison video is really good. 👍
I love Tifa saying the Highwind "would've been perfect." Like okay devs reel it in, Cloud JUST said you need a whole (experienced) crew to fly it. A large, ostentatious flying vehicle is the worst choice for a group of vagabonds on the run.
這是Rebirth,不是Remake
I CARE ABT GRAPHIC SO REMAKE FOR ME
I prefer the original.
Did Zack make an appearance in the OG FF7?
Yes
Yes, he wasn't really important at the time of the OG until Crisis Core where he gain popularity
He appeared in a couple of flashbacks. Zack had three important things in the story - that he died, that he was aeriths dead ex and something that hasn’t been fully covered in the remake yet. He was always dead from the start and there was no alternative universe stuff. Him being dead was a really important plot device and honestly in many ways he was a better character because he served a very distinct and important purpose which was greater than whatever it is they’re doing with him now, which mostly seems to be fanservice. The point of his character was always that he was dead.
@@jaybee4288 Awesome explanation 👏. Would you agree Zack is a better overall character than cloud?
Yes, in a Flashback
No matter what i keep looking at the left side 😅
Loved the OG and Remake. Was enjoying Rebirth until they added the multiverse bs.
characters look odd in the remake.., more traditional anime style would have been better.. there are great anime style artists they could have chosen from
The only place I didn't like redone was Shinra Manor
Yes! I wounder if they had problem to agree or didn't know how to expand this area. Becouse it's so ting from my eyes.
You skip temple of ancients too😂😂😂
Sooo dramatic 26:00 I prefer version of PS1
Lowkey mad they neutered Shinra manor
Shame about the plot ghosts and multiverse nonsense. Otherwise this is a great remake.
The tonality and atmosphere of FF7 is impeccably conveyed, and I wish Rebirth had done a better job at crystallizing the original's perfect balance between goofiness and darkness. The music when you find the beast you had to go through hurdles to avoid or kill is eerie, tense and riddled with the desperation of a tormented Cloud set on stopping a megalomaniac. In Rebirth, the visual beats strike with an almighty crescendo but it's a little too overbearing. When you find the snake in the PS1 version, no glissandos, diatonic changes or complex modulations are necessary to evoke that fear. It's just a spooky melody.
Some of rebirths sound was just a bit odd choices. Like the Kalm music changing 3 times in short order when you walked around the town (Kalm, chadley, jazz) or the Cosmo canyon battle music that sounded like two tracks not fitting together properly, the scarlet boss music being too low volume, and the weirdness of the commentary and tracks in the keystone arena quest. Most of the new tracks was forgettable. I do like Gus’ theme and Regina’s theme though.
some of the music in rebirth feels so out of place
I hate new Kalm, the original one set the tone for life outside Shinra run cities like Midgar or Junon being full of depressed ex workers dependent on the energy source that destroyed their economy. now its a bright hipster paradise full of flowers and baristas with everybody walking around having loud conversations about how great life is, card games, and chocobo ice cream.
That stuff is still there, but depicted more realistically. Surprisingly, a realistic town has people who find happiness where they can and DARE to have hobbies and sweets! Who knew!?
Towns wise Kalm was the biggest upgrade from the OG in my opinion. i love it.
the original is still much better
They've ruined Corel Prison
It used to be a dangerous place with creepy NPCs. Now it's just Wall market with sand, a place with cheerful people where you can play minigames, not to mention the fact that Dyne used to be "The boss" and he was feared by everyone, now the boss it's some random guy named Gus that acts like a full anime character and Dyne is just some lunatic that got captured by Gus goons
Gus was in OG iirc, but he was afraid of Dyne too. Wasnt he the guy who told the party about how they needed the chocobo races?
I love the OG but I really like the changes they did with Barret and Dyne.
@HeartlessSeph In the OG there was Mr Coates. He was Dynes “right hand” kinda. He decided who got to go to the Chocobo races. Gus is loosely based on him. It’s supposed to be him for sure but he’s different and so is Dyne.
@bukojoetheslapsoils8273 Do you like the changes though, or just did you like the cinematic of it all? I thought the scene was good because it had voice acting, but the changes were basically Player sees that Barrett wasn’t responsible, Dyne got beat up and tied to a chair by baseball bat guy, your whole party got beat up and taken hostage by baseball bat guy, the prison isn’t scary, it’s a fun minigame place, Dyne has anime robot arm now, Dyne gets killed by Shinra as a hero rather than take his own life, you get no time to rest because palmer shows up and then the Turks and then car racing.
To me all these changes were worse. But it was still a nice scene with the music and VA.
@@jaybee4288 the party getting beat up by random thugs makes no sense, considering they've fought Sephiroth and Fate (literally) in the previous game, they would be able to beat those guys in seconds
リバースは出来が悪くて
面白さと言う点ではオリジナルに遠く及びません
余計な要素が多すぎます
True FFVII vs old trash.
hahahaha! Yes
Having played the games in this order:
FF7 Remake
FF7 Original
FF7 Rebirth
I have to say. While I appreciate the combat in the remake version of FF7, cos turn based ain’t my thing, so much of the charm of the OG is lost in the remake versions.
The story of the original game is convoluted enough as is, but remake series insists on adding more characters, and confusing plot elements to make the story even harder to understand. From Zack being an almost nothing character in the original game. To now being shoved front and centre for fan service wore me thin really quickly.
But… The thing I found most unforgivable was Aerith’s death scene. That scene in the OG is so raw, and shocking at the time. Whereas rebirth applies twists and turns of confusing time travel multiverse slop that rips the impact out of that moment. So sad.
I just finished FF7 rebirth yesterday. Im happy to see someone else shares the same feeling i have toward aeirths death. It was really disorienting and out of place.
That's the stink of Nomura.
It’s great graphics but I just wish they properly remade it, so the exact same buildings in the same places, the NPCs saying the same things and the story being the same. I hate all this silly multiverse stuff and they made it worse overall.
No normal human being talks like how npc talks in og ff7 (or any classic jrpg).
So you want a remastered version not a remake. There's mods for that.
ps1 is better
no
OG still the better game!
No.
Yes 😂😂😂 you just can't beat the original source material...this generation cannot perfectly replicate lighting
@@user-uu2uv8bw2shuh? The remake is led by folks who worked on the OG.... it's just as good as the original...it all comes down to preference...and we have yet to see it completed. I wouldn't judge until part 3 is out...
@lex1070 well i would love to ..except its trapped on ps5!
@@user-uu2uv8bw2s give it a year and it will be on PC. Just like remake and soon to be FF 16.
The original will always be preferred by Millennials, while the remakes is aimed at Gen Z.
Big disagree the millennial who not fixed on nostalgia will like both
The original will always appeal to Millennials. The remake was meant for Gen Z.
Gen z isn’t playing final fantasy like that. They’re playing live service stuff
OG > Remake
All those graphical changes and couldn't capture the spirit of any scene or the quality of gameplay.
Take off the nostalgia glasses. People like you never admit that the only reason you dislike Remake/Rebirth is because it's not turn based.
Is the "spirit" in the room with us right now?
@@kurisu3000 I kind of agree an I'm not nostalgic for the original. I feel like the vibes in a lot of these clips are a lot stronger on the original, I don't like how muted the color palette is on the remake by comparison. The scenery is a lot more grey in the remake.
I think rebirth is a solid remake, though I haven't played the original, hence me not having nostalgia for it. I do think that the original FF7 has some personality that the remakes (mainly rebirth) are missing though in large part because of the art direction change.I think 7 remake felt more accurate to the vibes of FF7's Midgar than Rebirth feels with all of its locations, they aren't bad but side by side they don't feel like they capture the original's atmosphere.
Not bad at all and the scope of the game is massive so I don't think they could labor over every location as much as they did for Midgar to make sure they retain the original's atmosphere, the locations obviously have to be much larger and explorable from all directions so it takes a lot more time to build out a modern FF environment than it did for the old pre rendered ones.
For a remake of a game I love and grow up with, I kind of want them to retain the original atmosphere and feeling of the world, this is why the ps4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus was a massive disappointment to many SotC fans, they really fucked up the atmosphere by removing the mist, removing the expressions and many animations from Wander, and just having photo real textures/dense polygonal detail which betrays the original art direction by Fumito Ueda. They should've looked to The Last Guardian more as a reference while remaking SotC because that shows what a more modern Ueda game would look like, the mist and lighting are super important to get right.
If I grew up with FF7, I could imagine that those inconsistencies would matter a lot to me in these remakes, just like they did for me and SotC.
@@kurisu3000 It's only an improvement in graphics and mechanically.
facts, not even remotely the same spirit or feeling delivered
A REAL game vs. some blurry outdated boomer snoozefest 😴. Imagine trying to play the original on your little nintendo or whatever. How could people have enjoyed that? 😆😆
Funny you Say "Blurry" when Rebirth is known for having Blurry graphics, anything that's not a cutscene looks atrocious, especially If you compare it to other games of this gen hahaha
The original is better
Remake is better.
They are both great, and they both have flaws that are made up in each others games. :)
the original far better version, and the disney theme park version!
Remake is better.
Junon region is straight up superior in Rebirth. Only coral I like in OG, but Rebirth has a FAR better dungeon in the corel section.
Both have pros/cons. You can't trash the remake because it's led by those who worked on the original. They know what they are doing and it shows. Most folks love the remake.
