I didn't remember that final episode to be so long. In the manga it's so fast. The next opponent, the blonde guy, will be a little more troublesome than any of the enemies in the muscle tower.
It is alot faster in the manga, because the manga tends to focus primarily on the fights and not as much on character development. So the characters in the manga have comparably little personality. And Dragon Ball is not a unique occurrence when it comes to this.

So even though they have a higher potential to become stronger, their biggest weakness is that they suffer is not having the drive to fight like pure bloods. To fight stronger enemies and get stronger all the time......

Goku lets Piccolo and then later on Vegeta live for kinda selfish reasons, he wanted someone strong he could train for and go up against, tho for Piccolo he also had the reason of Piccolo's and Kami's link meaning if you kill 1 of them the other days and if Kami dies no more dragon balls and at that point in the series he doesn't know there were other sets of dragon balls.
Both parents are Brunette/Black haired. They most likely have a recessive Gene for red hair in them both. I've met a redhead with two Brunette parents before.
I don’t know why some people don’t like this arc. It does drag a little in places but the story and world building are done really well
