If it was me (only MY opinion), I would concentrate on one area, like the bedding I would put it away nicely (get nice tubs to put them in) then stack them from biggest to smallest if you need different size tubs.
I think that things that are neatly folded take up less space than things just piled into bags and etc. Also for instance keep like things together when folding. That way you will know where things are,
I really like your basement videos. All the previous work you & Robin did before has made it easier for you to clean up this time. You had a section for tools, painting stuff, yard stuff, decor etc,. Having said that, I think you need to get rid of a lot more stuff if you’re ever going to move into a smaller home.
We recently moved to a smaller property without storage area, shed or basement. The amount of stuff we binned or donated was unbelievable. When you have storage you keep more - even if you really don’t need it or use it regularly. We only took what we really need and the difference to how tidy our new property is was a huge eye opener. Keep decluttering as you are doing a great job ❤️
I don't know if it's feasible or possible but my recommendation would be to use the room to the back in the basement for all the stuff for when family comes and kitchen stuff you only use when company comes etc.
Maybe you and Robyn can rearrange a few things. Like maybe putting the piano by the bookshelf. Getting it away from the sawdust when he cuts wood. Also rearrange the things in the cave. Putting all the stuff for guest and your grandkids together and then all the Xmas stuff together. It’s just some suggestions
It would be fund to see you follow the principles of Dana from a slob comes clean or Cas from clutter bug to tackle your basement. I need to do mine as well as it is the catch all to deal with another day but it is packed!
You got a lot of stuff put away in that hour. Brilliant job Karen! 👏👏 I noticed the section under your stairs seems much clearer now. Good that you have gotten rid of so much large furniture. 💛 I see Robin has still kept the low blue chairs though. 😉 Have you decluttered your old dining room table and chairs yet? I couldn’t quite tell if they were still in your basement or not. I think maybe when Christmas is over you should consider going through each of your basement shelves one-by-one and have a clear out, because with a new grandchild arriving in the house in the summer you are going to be accumulating stuff and you’ll need a shelf or two to put those things away. So it definitely complete that task early before you run out of time to evaluate everything.
Love the basement videos..Are you still planning to get the chest freezer gone? You are just getting started with grand kids. Will you be able to hang on to all the stuff you have for their visits? I thought the nutcracker pillow was cute!
Karen, please, please, please vacuum the space bags or move the stuff to bins with labels or a little of both if there are ones you use more than others. Also, maybe try to put labels on the black shelves for your categories so everyone knows where things should go and are at. One more suggestion if you want to down size is to try and use less of your basement. Like, say you're not going to use one section, so if you had to move the stuff that is there, what would you do with it all. Might help you be a little more ruthless with what you keep
In a previous video you showed the wooden nativity set you have for grand babies. Are you able to share a link to the website you bought it from? Thank you!
I was laughing when you said to down size. You have a grandbabie on the way 😂
My thoughts too.

Agreed! I think bins would be so much better for the bedding.
You made such a difference in that hour!
Thanks! It felt good! 😃

Ikea do clear zip up containers cheaply I fold sheetsor blankets and throws, they stack both flat and horizontal I can see through to what is in them
Excellent power hour! It's nice to see we have more basement projects to look forward to.
Love the cute-not-creepy nutcracker pillow! And it was a really good deal, too!

Great job Karen. Place for everything and everything in its place. Thanks for sharing. 🤓🇬🇧🎄
Hello, Karen. Thank you so much for video.
You might want to take the batteries out of that music toy since it’s only used occasionally. It will be a while before Ivon’s baby can use it.
Hi Karen, what a great job 🎉May God Bless
🙏
NOT creepy- So cute! 👍

I made a list last night of little things that needed done. As I watched I got about half done. So appreciate the continued motivation. 🌻🍄
Yay!! 🙌

Always love a basement tidy... especially after your inspirational, epic, great basement declutter that you tackled in the past.
Thanks so much!😃

Karen, you are inspiring. The basement looks so much better. And you now really know what is what for the holiday season.

Is there a link to Rachel’s art?
Thank you for asking!! We hope to have it ready in a week!!
Yes, very motivating! I had worked in my basement briefly today too. Much more to sort and declutter down there. Thank you for keeping us going. 😊
