Somewhere In Time - Original 1981 VHS Release

"Somewhere In Time", the classic romantic drama starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour was released in movie theaters in 1980. The home video version was released on VHS in 1981. Back in college I used a friend's rental membership card to rent a VHS tape. We all watched the film and someone else took it back for me. Well, they called him and said he owed them for the cost of the tape because the VCR ruined it somehow. He told me and I told him to just ignore them and we never went there again. A few years later after he graduated and got married he went to apply for a credit card or get a loan or something like that and it showed that he stiffed the rental place and he had to pay $120 if he wanted to move forward on any loan. True story. He told me about it and I offered to pay him but he said "nah, it's okay"

This particular movie was a favorite of my sister's. For those of a certain age, it was like "Titanic", just not as much of a blockbuster.
I'm old enough to remember when the hardware store that my dad wirked in rented out VCRs and VHS tapes. This would've been the early 1980s. We could never get our hands on "Star Wars", but one night we rented "Poltergeist". I wasn't allowed to watch all of it because I was too young!

I think the Poltergeist house is in Simi Valley! I haven't seen the movie but I'm fascinated by finding locations and I might go try to find it.
