  • In this video I'll be showing you how to smoke a whole Pineapple. It's easy, quick and requires very little prep, so it's great for times when you want a quick and easy smoked recipe you can do on a weeknight. Especially when the weather is nice and you just kinda want to be outside anyway. For this smoked pineapple recipe I seasoned the outside with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar. Then I spritzed my pineapple a couple of times during the cook with some Fireball Whiskey. No fuss, no babysitting the grill for hours, no need to rest it for hours before we can enjoy it. These are the kinds of cooks I enjoy most. Simple, easy and quick.

Thanks man! Pineapples are around all year but they’re definitely better if you buy them during the spring/summer. These were very good but not as sweet as they could have been.

Besides mixing it with rum, the best thing you can do to a pineapple!

It was cool man, but I need to do it again when it’s in season.

Very nice. Did you use just straight charcoal or did you use any hard woods? If so what type of wood did you use? Is it done once the cinnamon and brown sugar caramelize? Thanks!

Well, you have to add some wood to charcoal to smoke, so I added some wood chunks. Just a couple of pieces of Applewood.
I find that more delicate foods taste better with fruit woods, while hard woods work better with bigger pieces of meat. But it’s all about preference! There are no rules.
As for time, I think i left it on about 3”-45 minutes. Definitely no more than an hour. I kept temps fairly low so I didn’t get a lot of caramelization. . But I’ve seen several guys do it at higher temps, with great looking results. Like somewhere between 300-350.
