This video saved me from buying a new washer. The explanation was clear and it made the process so simple to understand and so it was easy to do! Thanks so much!
Used this video to fix an old Kenmore. Older than the model shown here, but substantially the same. I had to replace both the water pump as well as the coupling. Getting the old water pump off the spindle was a struggle, but in the end I was able to pry it off. In the end, it worked, and I'm running it full time catching up on all the dirty laundry that accumulated while I was waiting for the part. Thanks!!!!!!!
Kryodawg, I want to thank you for showing me how easy it is to change the coupler on my washer. Your no-nonsense simple to follow instructions where extremely helpful. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Instructions were spot on for my washer. I’m a total amateur and I was able to make the fix in a little over an hour. Bought parts on Amazon for $6.
may god be with you for fixing the Kenmore washing machine. making this video to help others in need of help with they washing machine
Dude; You Rock! Thank you so much. Your directions and explanations are spot on! I got that thing apart exactly as you showed and am just waiting to get the part ( store is closed, now ). Great Job!!!
Thanks so much for your video, I was able to fix my washing machine for a little over 7 bucks. I followed your video step by step an order part number from your video timestamp, that awesome.
Thank you, thank you, thank you..... this video helped me fix my washing machine!!! Something my husband was going to pay someone to do!!! thanks for helping us save money!!!
DUDE! you rock, man. what else did I have to do during this Sunday while quarantining? my 16 year old and still running (well, not at the moment) 70series Kenmore wasn't spinning after drain cycle, and followed your instructions, and sure enough, broken coupler. Will try to source locally tomorrow or else online. Thanks, man.
Thanks for the video, I needed to know how to take our machine apart for cleaning. It works fine, but a lot of grease seems to have leaked from under the machine. Is this normal?
Thanks for this video. Was exactly the issue. Appreciate it!
This was very helpful. Thank you for making the video. It made fixing this a pleasure. Thank you!
Great video.. I have a whirlpool top load that runs the same way and the setup is the same, direct drive shaft.. Mine was agitating but not spinning when it reached that cycle. Changed the clutch still didn't spin. Checked the coupler and it was good. With the cabinet off I checked to see if the clutch was spinning when the machine was on, it wasn't. Took off the transmission and manually turned the motor, didn't turn. Decided to go into the transmission. As soon as I set free the plate that covers the transmission, where the oil and gears are, about a cup of water rushed out. So I decided to drain all of the oil that was in the transmission, and half was oil and half water. Cleaned the transmission with kerosine and a clean paint brush, allowed it to dry, topped back up the transmission with 16oz oil and assembled the machine.. Machine is now perking, agitating, spinning and working like brand new.. Before this episode I had to change the tub, upper and lower shaft seals due to a leak. I guess what happened was water leaked into the transmission causing the gears to slip.
Done did it thanks to you !!! Great job buddy :)
absolute life saver bud.
@kyrodawg I had the motor coupler and clutch changed but when the washer comes to spin, it doesn’t. It makes likes grinding noise. It’s like it wants to spin but is being held back. Any suggestions
Awesome! You’re a life saver!
gracias por compartir sus conocimientos son de mucha ayuda esperamos mas videos
Thank you for this video, you saved me alot of money
Good video and explanation man ! thanks for the help
Nicely done
I have a 70 series Kenmore model 92573200 and it looks so much like the one here. Thinking I might get the same part and take a chance. The washer is 25 years old, but still giving good service until it began making the exact same noise, and not spinning....nothing to lose but time and a little money on a part. Hate the thought of spending lots of money for inferior products due to all the new water and energy sparing regulations. People need to wear clean clothes without all that hassle. I think that is a basic human right!
Thank you so much for this video! $6 and I fixed it!
Thank you 🙌🏽
I have the exact same washer and having almost the same problem. It agitated but once the dial gets to spin all you can hear is like a egg timer ticking and then nothing. No noise no spinning. Any thoughts on whats wrong?
Do you have a repair video for a model 110.2703*? I looked under the machine and there is a large round object that blocks access or a view of the motor, pump, clutch area. What is this, and how do I remove it?
What would be the cause if my Kenmore 400 series washer machine is skipping the spin cycle when I run it for a normal wash cycle, and leaves the clothes fairly wet. But I am able to manually move the dial to spin and then it completes the spin cycle. Is it still the same as this video or different issue?
This was exactly what was wrong with my machine and, once I got the control panel tipped up, all the steps matched what I needed to do. Thanks for the useful video!
Zac Jacobson Great! Glad it was helpful to you :)
I have been looking for my washing machine that don't spin model number 110.26002011 Kenmore having no luck finding any information on this washer....If you know anything on this please let me know.
Oh, wow, THANK YOU!
I really hope you respond. I have the same washing machine but I didn't know it wasn't spinning until after i had a full load. Mine doesn't make a noise
Brittany Martinez the motor should work as usual even if tub doesn’t spin. If the motor is making a noise that doesn’t sound normal that would mean the transmission or motor may have issues. Best thing to do is empty the washing machine unplug the power chord, hoses and drain, lay it on its side and check if the coupler is cracked or broken before you take it all apart. It may be difficult to tell, if so you’ll need to take it apart as shown in the video...good luck!
Perfect!
So cool
I checked couplers, clutch, water pump not clogged, brake was good..the motor turns on but still no spin cycle at all. Please HELP!
सर अाप की विडियो देख कर मुझे वहुत कुछ सिखने को मिलता है
This was SO MUCH HARDER than things had to be! To remove and change out the coupling- I figured out you can just do it from underneath. There was NO NEED to disassemble the top, back, and the cover! I spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME STRUGGLING and taking the hard way out.
ALSO! It would have been nice to show how you put the motor clips on. I spent over an hour trying to put them back in.
I thought same thing when I watched this
Our washer is sometimes spinning and sometimes not, would this be the problem? We have to spin the clothes 7 or 8 times before all the water comes out.
+Kristina Schlueter I don't think this would be the issue. Sounds like the motor may not be spinning it fast enough to remove the water or there is something possibly clogging your drain hose preventing the water from draining like it should. Good Luck!
my washer starts but you can see motor slowing down mid cycle and goes to humming
where do I buy the part?
I got mine from Amazon
KOBE #GOATBEAST!!!!!.
MY PROBLEM IS THE AGITATOR DOES NOT SPIN, BECAUSE THE DOGS ARE STRIPPED. THEN THE BOLT OF THE AGITATOR STRIPPED, SO I DRILLED THE CENTER, AND USEING A SPEED OUT, BUT THE AGITATIR KEEPS SPINNING! YES I WAS HOLDING THE BOTTOM OTHER THE AGITATOR, AND IT STILL SPINNING! HELP! THANK YOU!
My Kenmore went thru the wash cycle fine, runs on rinse, but when it got to spin it will not spin nor drain, any thoughts of how to drain the water sir
I'm having the same problem. I'm draining the water by hand with a bucket.
Maybe the lid switch
how do I know if my problem is the drive coupler, clutch, or transmission? All three, from what I read online, may be the problem. The top part of the agitator spins, but the bottom won't budge. Removed both and the spindle in the tub is locked up. Did this after I manually drained the entire tub of dirty water. It filled, but there was no spin, so it was stuck in there. And when it tried to spin, I heard a grinding noise.
regression coupler is the cheapest fix if you take the motor off and the coupler isn’t broken then checking the transmission is seized up.
@@kryodawg Is there any way of telling if mine is drive by a coupler or belt? I mean, taking it apart will tell me, but i'd rather do that when i have the part ready
You can lay the washing machine on its side and look from the bottom to see if the coupler is broke you should be able to see it.
@@kryodawg Yeah, I think that's what I'm gonna have to do. Thanks for your video! If I need to change the coupler, I will definitely be watching your video for help.
so i tore it apart and looked underneath. the coupler is broken!!!! i'm so happy it's a simple fix. i'm gonna go get the part and fix this thing. thanks so much, dude
What if the problem is a bad clutch?
If you know it's a bad clutch then you find a video that shows how to remove the agitator and pull the transmission to check the clutch ring. If the clutch moves easy then use a pair of pliers to pull it out and replace it with another good clutch. Then reassemble the agitator. There are quite a few videos showing how to do it. This video is only for the coupling, which was the problem I experienced. Hope this was helpful.
I can't get the sides off of the top to get to the screws! lol You'd think they 'd just pop off.
You do NOT need to take the housing apart for this repair. Watch the video done by ChrisFix. It can all be repaired from under the washing machine, supporting it with a jackstand.
Good call Rutger! With this method it’s a 45min to 90min job. ChrisFix’s video: 10min job. It’ll take you longer to watch this video than to do it using the ChrisFix method.
I tipped it over and took the white thing off but there is a bolt holding the motor. I know this must sound stupid, but I don’t know how the wrench sockets work. I’m so frustrated since I’m here alone now. I am nearly there- but don’t know how to get these bolts off. I’m sorry for the stupid questions.
Ms. Vicki the ratchet needs to be set so that it lets you turn the bolt to the left, if the ratchet is just spinning then you will need to turn the knob on the ratchet to the other side...hope that helps
kryodawg okay I’ll try tomorrow. I had a little meltdown. Thank you for the quick response. Why didn’t I learn this stuff earlier in my life? Ugh
Okay from watching and listening to you- you sound like you are from Texas, like me. So I’m gonna need you to make a new video fixing my Kenmore. 😉 This is way too complicated- will have to call someone.
Ms. Vicki t’s really not as complicated as it looks. Just a bunch of small steps. Although it’s much easier if you have help. But it can be done by one person. I’m from Alabama btw...LOL
You sound like Texas with your “warsher”- love it! My best friends husband is coming over tomorrow I told him you said it’s the coupler (I think that’s what you said). I enjoyed the video. Will subscribe so I can fix my own stuff.
Which model number is this particular machine? My number is worn off and it's the same exact machine.
jeje rin I don’t remember, this video was recorded 4 years ago and I no longer have the machine.
@@kryodawg Thanks. That's too bad because my machine is at least 10+ years old and I can't find the model number anywhere lol.
I have a Kenmore 600 and it don't have that little hole to check it with a screwdriver 😡
Can anyone help me with my problem? I have a Kenmore 80 series and it was not working properly. I first noticed my clothes were wetter than usual when unloading so I payed attention to a complete wash cycle to realize the only noticeable change was not starting the spin at a high speed it had to build up to reach maximum speed. Meanwhile washing still and just drying a bit longer till I figure it out. After a wk or so i was going to do a small load and I had filled with water and getting ready to add detergent I noticed it quit agitating too and since I didn’t add close I didn’t pay attention to whether it spun out at all or as it had prior. Since I had no idea what I was doing and wasn’t positive I figured I’d go ahead n change the clutch and the motor coupling. I did so put it all back together and turned it on- agitated fine when it got to the spin it spun out however it made an awful noise doing so- my question is what could I have done wrong or not got back properly in place to make a noise from hell - it really sounded bad but it did quit making that noise before it completed the cycle. I just feel like it is something I did or didn’t do and I don’t want to mess it up any further, I can not afford another right now. Any suggestions would be appreciated and my apologies if I don’t get back to anyone promptly I do not have internet service at my home so my time is limited.
Shannon Buchko this is what I found on google that might be helpful for you. If you hear a squeaking sound when the drum rotates, it means that bearing must be lubricated. However, if you hear a grinding sound, it means that bearing is faulty and it must be replaced. Loud noise during the spin cycle can also be due to a faulty drive pulley. The washer belt uses the pulley to spin the tub.
@@kryodawg Hello sir, thank you for your great video. I agree with all the comments made by all the previous posts. Wonderful to be able to fix this versus a new machine or hiring someone. I have the exact same washer and a similar problem but there’s no noise coming from the motor when you close the lid or press on the switch on the upper right side for the spin cycle. The agitator works just fine. Any thoughts on this? Thanks
My machine does drain but sometimes it will not spin. The timer keeps rolling.
I'm not sure if I have a coupler problem? Any idea?
Thank you
Motor coupler is shot
Couldn't you just tip the washing machine back without messing with the control panel?
lol...In this case...Yes.
I don't have a "horeshing" machine. Will this work on "washing" machines?
No it only works on horeshing machines.
If you get motion sick, don't watch this. I had to stop, unfortunately.
You ever clean that thing? Yuck...
You sound like Kermit the frog. Awesome lol
too dizzy to finish watching
STOP STOP STOP!!!!!! YOU DONT NEED TO TAKE IT ALL APART LIKE THAT!!!! JUST PUT IT ON IT'S SIDE AND YOU CAN FIX IT!! TRUST ME I'V DONE IT 1.000 TIMES IT TAKES 20 MIN!!!
Poor instructions.
Yu doing all wrong tip it on its side remove motor with transmission in 5 minutes from bottom no need to touch nothing up top all wrong pal do it from bottom
