The fact that you describe General Grevious as a genocidal maniac, and then say he can’t hold a candle to Shu-Mai, tells you just how dark this video will be. That being said, the ROTS Novelisation says in the intro that Grevious was, indeed, the worst of the Separatist Leaders. “Grevious, though…Grevious was a monster”
The novelisation didn't say he was the worst, just that he was overtly evil while Dooku was better at coming off as civilised. It was from a Republic POV if I remember correctly and it was commenting on the propaganda effect of an attack by Grevious on the population of Coruscant
I heard of a part of the Clone Wars (event) where he tried using some brutal enslavement technique involving forced cybernetics. On CHILDREN. Vader at his WORST would only KILL them, while being DISCUSTED with even the most TAME forms of slavery.

I'd like to hear more about the other Separatist Council Leaders. Nute Gunray got a lot of the spotlight in Phantom Menace, and he was one of the Separatist bigwigs but what did he expect to happen? What was his goal for the Clone Wars? And San Hill, the banker that seemed so eager and high and mighty when the treaty was being signed. All these people had different goals, even Dooku, had a different vision for the galaxy when the war was finally over. The only one who saw their goals realized... was Palpatine.
And Gunray, who, amungst other things, is the sort to try and sell anyone and everyone else out to save himself, and Poggle, who did that whole "Geanosian brain worm" thing.
I remember Shu-Mai being the main antagonist and twist villain in that weird Star Wars: Kinect game. Her being there made me question the decision when I first played it. Now I wonder why Shu-Mai hasn't been used more frequently. She was the literal embodiment of pique corporate evil on a galactic scale.
She would have contested Sidious' schemes if they were to meet late into their respective careers, & went for each other's throats if they were to meet early. Taking her as an apprentice wouldn't have been an option for Sidious, as she was too damn vile to be manipulated & kept around. Hitler may not have cared about Germany, since he ordered an absurd scorched earth policy that no one followed. Hitler cared about Germany for a while, because they were his power base, and once they were spent he wanted them to die as well since in defeat they had proved unworthy of him.

It's refreshing to see how much depth the Separatists get via the novelizations. Grevious saw the Republic steal victory over his people's centuries long oppressors, the murderers of his wife. He saw the desecration of his culture's most sacred sites and his people reduced to crippling poverty, so much so that he was willing to swallow his own pride and honor and sell himself into slavery to the Banking Guild. All because the Republic couldn't mind their own business. Even without the Siths manipulation his hatred for the Jedi and the Rebublic would have turned him into a monster. Shu-Mai grew up in a world so crippled by sanctions that sentient life was worth less then a scrap of food. All because some bureaucrats half a Galaxy away felt like it. Not because they had to, but because they could. She didn't escape any of this because of the kindness of another, but because of her own ruthlessness. Why would she develop a value of sentient life? Ironically, the Republic created some of it's most monstrous enemies.

The ROTS novelization makes me desire a cut where Hayden subjects the Separatist leadership to his comedy routine as he kills them. Anakin/Vader silently slaughtering them was scary enough, but if his replies to their pleas for mercy were dad jokes that are actually funny, that would show how far Anakin has fallen.
This character makes me think of these Sload people from the Elder Scrolls universe as their entire species was like this character as they viewed acts of Cruelty torture murder and exploitation as signs of one's intelligence and are things that made you a good person.
