I can actually see how both sides thought and would make the decisions they did. One species grew in relative peace while the other had to fight just to stay where they were. It's not surprising the Mon Calamari and Quaran would view things differently especially when it comes to change. For the Mon Calamari it brought great positive while for the Quaran it brought hardship and death. No wonder the Mon Calamari were so welcoming to newcomers while the Quaran were always suspicious.

Considering the Siths long plan was well underway (if anything it was closer to fruition than its starting point) I'd bet a dollar or two that they had more than a little to do with ensuring those plans didn't come to be. After all pretty much everything she wanted to do revolved around peaceful integration of the outer rim and contact with those beyond as well as solidifying republic holdings. Which would have been in direct opposition and set back the Siths plan centuries if not outright murdered it.

I actually just rewatched this arc last night. As fascinating as it was, I wish that we got to see more of Riff Tamson’s people in the show. Was not expecting Riff to bite into Padmé’s helmet when I first watched it.
It is interesting in The Mandalorian the offworlder Mon Cal and Quarren can exist relatively in peace. Even if the Mon Cal seem more industrious and Quarren still coming off to "gangster" mentality.

These guys are interesting. I've heard of rivalries lasting a long time, but they had a very long rivalry. Also, say what you will about the Galactic Empire, but at least they, albeit unintentionally, managed to end the rivalry between these two species. XD
