Classic stuff.
My grandad is a die hard city fan. Season ticket for over 50 years. I once asked him who he thinks the best ever is and without a seconds pause he said “Duncan Edwards. He could do everything” and I could see the emotion in him. I only ever got to see Duncan on videos and tv but good god he’s phenomenal
Never compare Duncan Edwards to anyone.
fergie did with phil jones..... Phil is no where near Duncan's level
M Ali almost no defender is (well maybe Beckanbauer or Maldini), if he played out his full career... if only
Especially Bale, looking at what he's been doing recently
So true.
Saw Duncan play many, many times both for the youth and first teams, truely awesome talent !!!
please share! How was he in person? be detailed I'm so curious and there isn't much video of him anymore
Please share your story🙂
I genuinely want to listen to your story, please share if you can
That have been a dream come true watching Duncan edwards
Duncan did really pure talent for football. And Manchester and everyone lost him. Shame of us, shame of passion fans of football. Salute from Turkey, friends! We(Galatasaray Fans) always love and respect to the United!
Thanks, bless you sir.
Before my time but God Bless him and all Uniteds players and fans, past and present !!
DUNCAN EDWARDS (R.I.P)................LEGEND
Duncan Edwards always has a spot in my all time United XI. ❤️❤️
I saw Duncan Edwards many times he was brilliant two footed and very strong and skill full there were also many great players in that Eddie ( snakehips) Coleman was a joy to watch along with Liam whelan a wizard on the ball the whole team was brilliant remember Bobby Charlton struggled to get in that team
I onle saw him once it was against either blackpool or Bolton season 1953/54 he was doing his national in the army the reason I remembered Duncan playing .( I was only ten) was that he split his short he went to the dug out with the crowd laughing and pulled on another pair of shorts over the top also the programme had a cartoon with reference to Duncan wearing football kit wearing shiny parade boots hope you get the gist life long United follower
@@gerrysmith7031 The best British player?
Still the best player that ever lived rip
If the English Busby babes players had have lived on imagine how good the England international team would have been Busby babes + 1966 Team + 1970 Team the English Busby babes might have been nearing the end of their Prim by the 1970s but they still would have made an huge impact on the England international team through that period. A real lose for England imagine how Meany international tropes they might have won!
in all probability england would have won or gone v close to winning 1958 world cup but for munich.not only did we lose duncan but roger byrne(england captain)tommy taylor england centre forward(and a better header of a ball than uve ever seen, unless u saw tommy lawton)plus colman and pegg would prob have made the squad
What a player ⚽
5 TIMES respect
SL JR 👍
You Scouse Bastard!
@@disobeytoday4685 hes giving respect you stupid twat
Respect to a genuine LFC SUPPORTER
I actually live so close to dudley. I had no idea. I will make the pilgrimage.
If Duncan Edwards had lived, Bobby Moore WOULDN'T HAVE picked up the World Cup.
I'm not so sure. I agree Edwards would have been a certainty to play and would have only been 29 in 1966 but I think Moore would still have been the skipper. Edwards was (imo) the greatest English player of all time but for me Moore was the PERFECT Captain and the two things aren't always synonymous. A great player isn't always a great skipper and (purely in my opinion) strikers are not generally a good choice for the armband. I've always felt a central defender or midfielder makes the best skipper because they can see everything and get to every player on the team without getting themselves or their team mate too far out of position.
If Duncan Edwards lived they would have never won the World Cup because bobby Moore stoped pele from scoring a goal then bobby whet on to get an assist
@@lucaiovene9959 that was 1970 you numpty ?
Nah Jack Charlton would never have picked up the world cup
He played at left wing half...that wasn't Charltons position ye Wally
Big Dunc a truly GREAT player. Versatile, incredibly quick and unbelievably skilful. England may have won the World Cup more than once. Oh what could of been.....
heard he was the best ever wow!!!!
He was my Great-nans Cousin
what he was my great nans cousin!
A great loss to the world
He was my great nans cousin :(
Edwards like all genius, was a one off
It's so upsetting his story wot if he lived now that would of been amazing
Dudleys greatest player💙
After training Matt Busby would make the United players practice what they were weak at, Duncan went home.
is going to be an insult to compire great Duncan Edwards to any other player in the world
Duncan Edwards makes Chuck Norris look small
My Dad said that like Matthews fans from all clubs would turn to watch Duncan play.
Don't you dare compare the great Duncan Edwards with a golf player like Gareth Bale
In my opinion the 3 greatest player's of all time, are British, John Charles, George Best and Duncan Edwards, Edwards being my number one, all greater than Pele in my opinion, many will disagree, but I believe these 3 were something else,so fortunate to have all come from the UK, freakish.
You are unbelievably biased.
Huey Freeman .. pl
Neil Carpenter Great players but no, I don't think so. Stupid patriotism has obscured your thinking there.
Neil Carpenter well pele said himself geogie (george best) is the best and pele never compliments anyone but himself lol
Wouldn't say Best is British he always referred himself as being Irish
That’s right it would of been big Duncan that would’ve lifted the World Cup in 66, he would of been 29 and at his peak
bobby charlton raved about david moyes
If the Munich Air Disaster never happened there would probably be no George Best and Denis Law
there would have been a george best
There would have been Best, Law might not have been signed (but if Busby would have shown interest he would sign) and United would have won multiple European cups!
@GJ 30 ya that team probably would have won 3 or 4 minimum considering the age they were. We’re favourites to win it in 1958
You don't compare Duncan Edwards with a golfer aka Bale.
He was a 1 off...
Rooney was called White Pele until he proved nothing for England
I've never heard that term been used for Rooney where I live.
TheKestevon zico was called white pele u idiot
why are you commenting this on a video about duncan edwards?
TheKestevon not talking about Rooney
That is a good point about the Babes. They were a great side, but would they have improved and fulfilled their potential. Rooney was dynamite as a teenager.
hi there, do u believe on God?
Duncan Edless
I think duncan is more simmilar to javier zanetti rather than gareth bale.gareth bale right foot accuracy isnt that good. Bale also not good player when play at central areas. he's one of the fastest player in the world, duncan is fast, but I wonder if he's the fastest in the world as well. I think zanetti is more all rounder and duncan is more simmilar to zanetti. so zanetti but good in the air also, is duncan edwards.
Maybe mixture between cristiano ronaldo aerial ability with zanetti all round peformance
+I'm Braam yes
No.... Zanetti was a legend with a incredible career but he was no where near as good as Duncan or similar to him, Duncan was on a level with the likes of beckanbauer, John Charles, bobby Moore
" Bobby Charlton said Duncan Edwards was the greatest player ever...".. Ya. Like the english would NEVER overhype their talent.....
***** You kinda prove my point. Charlton is English, so was Big Dunc... And they both played for the same team. Hard to take English players/ teams seriously and when they have sucked shit at International level...Its very easy to look good against Northampton Town lol
Nah the English are the worst. All these so called "world class" players and only 1 World Cup to show for it - won at home; in dubious circumstances. Atleast Italy has FOUR!
How else should we assess the level of players other than hubris and speculation. Its very touchy feely and very subjective. Surely a team of world class players should be able to step up in big game competition????
+vja1970 maybe you can check back some international match around those times. From what I read England was pretty good then, when Duncan was playing. And United was good too, they made it to semi final, if I'm not mistaken or maybe quarter final, in their first European Cup. So maybe Duncan was that good.
That being said, I'm a big United fan lol and I'm completely aware of England 'Golden Generation' in every World Cup.
He was presented a gold watch by Real Madrid around the time when Madrid won five European cups in a row. Well that should answer your question of overhyping the English talent, because he was not just any English talent.
only lord bentdner is comparable to duncan edwards
Shut the fuck up.
not a patch on georgie
