My parents saw him play for England against Ireland in Dublin in 1957. Both said they never forget his pace and strength. My father always maintained that had the Munich Air Crash not happened, England would have won the World Cup in 1958. The loss of Duncan and star striker Tommy Taylor cost England everything.

I grew up on the Priory Estate. My PT teacher at Priory Juniors was Mr Meddings. He always said you're not as good as Duncan... My mum was Church Warden at St Francis
Church and took visitors, mainly United supporters, round to look at the Windows of stained glass ... I did a paper round in Laurel Road as a kid in the 70s. He is spoken of still in reverential tones. A great player. Possibly the greatest ... A nice film. Thank you ... Incidentally I was on Priory Park and met my first footy hero Sir Bobby Charlton when he unveiled the blue plaque. Also Led Zeps Robert Plants gran lived a few doors down from the Church...

Players, particularly managers complain about too much football today. In the 1956/57 season, the year before Duncan died, he played 100 matches comprising 1st team, under 23's and internationals, a leather ball and mud bathes for pitch's, o and all the matches start to finish as there were no subs. Unfair dig at players and managers today.
Football today is a lot more intense and energetic. Lot more ground covered during a game, a lot more sprints. Lot more European football nowadays, many more international teams and matches. Players today play at a higher standard and need to be in the best physical shape. They also have longer careers to safeguard.
And players and managers today don't know their place so will speak our about being exploited so that football authorities can make even more money

Nice to see these places. Thank you. A few corrections.. Munich disaster was on 6th of Feb 58, not 21st. Duncan died in hospital from the injuries he sustained in the crash on the 21st. He asked Jimmy Murphy his coach what time the kick off was, not Charlton. He played for UTD first team from 53 -58, not 52 - 53. He made his debut in the April of the 52/53 season. All this stuff is on Wikipedia should you wish to make any corrections in future via a audio voice over soundtrack

I am not sure ir it was a funeral or a memorial service, probably the latter. No huge crowds, so i met Matt Busby Bobby Charlton and others i can not recall. I got all the autographs and guess what, they are long gone. Our family were split down the middle, Wolves West brom. For my sins i have suffered as a Wolf for nearly seventy years. You need to do the research again and get your facts right. Write the points down for each segment.
Write your script. And stick to it where possible.
Little things, like the crash was 06 February, not 21 February.

They reckon if he'd have lived we would never have heard of Bobby Moore, however. R.I.P. both legends

I think Bobby Moore was great but I think it would be Duncan Edwards lifting the world cup instead

Bobby Charlton and a couple of mates went to pick him up his mam had packed him a few sandwiches for the flight she said"i shan't give you a kiss
cuz of me cold" he never saw her again or she him,, so if you've still got your mam give her a kiss before you go anywhere ,sez Bobby Charlton.. and me

It's very true always give your mom a kiss every time you say goodbye to her even if you are going out for 5 minutes you never know
