The probation period is a two way street; I'm evaluating if I can see myself being there on day 91 and that evaluation doesn't take very long (1-2 weeks on average). If I'm left unimpressed, I quit and move on.
Hi there! I work for big 4 in USA and recently had an issue with client and got pretty bad feedback from the client to my leadership team. I am a full time employee recently started with the company and now I got to know from my supervisor that I am being put on probation period because I could not meet the client expectations. I am little disappointed and worried about this “probation” process as I never knew until now!!! Could you please advise on my situation, on what steps I need to take once I get confirmation from my supervisor? It’s not been confirmed yet and this is like my first engagement with this company. Much appreciated!
Hlo mam I have some serious issue. I came from mechanical b. Tech background but the company eligibility criteria was cse/it b. Tech then i just simple apply for the job then the company take my aptitude test and one technical round and one management round after that the company release the internship letter of 3 months but the package was 5.7lpa.Already i sent all my document. It take approx 2 months So now my question is do they reject me because the eligibility criteria was cse/it but my actual branch is mechanical but no one don't know my branch but already i have submitted my document 12 days back and my onboarding date is 15th of july. Please mam🙏
Hi, it’s just 2 weeks of joining the company but I am not liking the job profile and work culture, can I leave the company in the probation period? It’s mentioned in my letter that I have to serve one month notice or give one month salary!
Hi Karnika, You can definitely leave, but without serving notice company might declare you absconding. It’s your choice to do it formally or just leave by eliminating this experience from your career.
I have planned for wedding and I have already booked my tickets for 3 weeks for going backhome. However, my probation period will be ending in July so how can I ask for more than 2 weeks of vacation as company has policy of not to give vacation not more than two weeks? What should I do? Should I lie at the last moment of any medical reason or should I tell them as it is? I have so much confusion.
Hi Arpit, Your company is kind to give you leave during probation, I would recommend ask them for an extended leave for your wedding. I hope there is a provision in your company for the same.
Hello mam, I have job offer in IT MNC company but I didn't get a joining from that company, so i decide to work for another company till I get joining... Now I have offer in Another company CTC is also low but i get joining immediately...may I go that company till I get joining date from MNC IT company... Is there any problem?
Hi Keerthi, You must be really talented to have 2 job offers. Below is my recommendation: 1. Try to talk to the HR about clear joining dates and tell them you have given more interviews along with them so you may get another offer. Do it on a call following by an email. 2. I would suggest if it’s not a binding contract but a limited liability task based assignment consider doing it if you don’t like relaxed break before joining a job but without any obligation. first stick to the offer you have for higher salary and have clear communication with the company HR. Let me know how it goes.
Hi Jaskaran It depends on what is your situation and legal obligations towards the company. This video might help. How to Resign without serving notice period- Resignation letter template included ua-cam.com/video/oZuqobEuJeY/v-deo.html

I was on a 1 month probation period, on 4 feb 2023 i completed my probation and resigned. now company is not releasing my pay, quoting that i will be receiving my salry after 60 days. Mam what should i do pls tell ?
Hi there One month probation is quite less time, some companies do hold the salary for a certain period but there has to be a reason for it. What is the reason for them to take 60 days to pay you??
Hi ma'am, i have something to ask about the probation period. If you resign after 6 months, do you have to pay for all the expenses of your employer ma'am? Pls tell me and give me advice for that ma'am, thank you.
Hi Marie, No you do not pay for entire expenses upon resignation but you might pay for training or any visa costs if applied. It totally depends on the company policy, what an employer legally wants from a leaving employee.
Hi mam,you told probation can be extended.. marriage is the situation when i am new employee.. can we take leave for 10-15 days? How are leaves under probation period?
Hi Chaitanya, During probation all your leaves are unpaid but some good employers have the provision to carry forward taken leaves to be deducted from annual leave balance. Talk to your boss to grant you a carry forward if possible. Let me know if he agrees. 👍
Hi ma'am I join a organisation and work for 25 days and I want to quit the job because of the culture of organisation . Would I get the salary for 25 days if i leave ??
Hi Sanjeevani My answer would depend on company policy regarding your notice if you leave without serving the notice. I would recommend do not leave before getting the first month salary.
Hi Ayush I recommend you keep a record of your daily attendance during your tenure with the company. It could be official emails, clock in screenshots or anything that proves that you worked. Try asking HR for your settlement, in case they deny you can tell them that you have proof of work and will complain against them. Hopefully it should work.
Hi Maam my question is I was on probation period in an edtech company and I was terminated after 50 days regardless I am not paid the salary for a single month. As the hr policy was to pay the salary of 1st month on 20th of second month as they said that many employees leave the job after 1st salary. So to retain them they give it on 20th And I got to know about termination on 21st of 2nd month, so I want to know am I eligible to get the full salary of 1st month.
Hi there, This company is not ethical practices from your comment. If a permanent employee gets terminated, it’s generally 3months severance pay. During probation it’s different based on policy but 15 days salary is applicable for termination during probation. If the have not paid you entirely you could file a labor complaint with relevant proof of commencing your job for the said period. Let me know if you have any questions.

I completely agree with this, it is definitely a two way street unless it’s about earning the bread and butter.
Do we need to serve the notice period if you want to resign during the the probation period??

Is there some salary hike after the probation period gets completed?
Hi ma'am
My joining date is 4 sep 2023 & probation period is six months then what will be last day of my probation period?
