I got to work on a rocket program when I got out, the SSG at the end is right, you can work at some sweet places, and that TS/SCI clearance is worth its weight in gold.
These people are also the triple A farm team for the FBI. These military occupations in the Army and Navy provide the FBI with suitable undercover agents.
You’re not gonna be jack reacher by doing this mos nor can you compare them to a tripe letter agency. Remember this is an ad where they try to hype it up. I know tons of people that went CI after they switched mos and trust me some said its not that deep.
My background is in cyber security and penetration testing .. counter intelligence and system forensics is really part of the job. I just need the combat training and I think I’d be a good fit for this job

If you’re a stud and proficient in all aspects of being a soldier, your commander will do what he can to further your career and get you trained. Do good at PT and don’t be a shitbag and be good at your job and I’m sure your COC will let you take the DLAB and go to DLI if you qualify
My Father was CIC. He served in post way Germany. I have his paperwork when he finally retired, and a photo of his CIC Credentials. He ended his army service at the Goat Farm in about 1962 or thereabouts. The term Goat Farm should tell you something if you were ever MI or CIC in Germany. Prior to that, we'd been in Giessen, (in the early '50's), later on in Bad Wildungen, and Bad Hersfeld.

You can wait til you’re 20 and if it’s open you can request this job before you ship to basic instead of something you may or may not want.. if you’re already in the army, you gotta be 21 and you have to “reclass” so you got to have a 110 GT score , a minimum of I believe 2 years at your duty station or into your current MOS, but you can always re class but your current MOS I believe has to be over strength and the one you want 35L can’t be over strength. Check with your retention nco when that time comes, if you’re in.

Well, your recruiters work hard to time your graduation from basic combat training to as near as possible to the start of your advanced individual training, @@unknownhero1785 . So after all your medical clearances, months later, you will be sent to BCT and then to AIT, at Fort Huachuca, in Arizona, where you will wait a few days or weeks, at most, to then begin your classes as a 35L. Does that answer your question?
It's entry level as of now, you wont receive your B and Cs (credentials) until you're 21. You have to be 19 and you'll be a probationary agent for a year pretty much. You could also do 35M or 35F or whatever other intelligence MOS and do the Inservice recruiting which is what i'm doing.

it requires prior service, so i would enlist in the national guard for infantry (shortest a school), go to college and attend an rotc program, graduate as second lieutenant officer w/ whatever degree you want, then switch to counterintel officer

This is a packet mos meaning you can reclass despite your current mos being under strength or even because with your normal MOSs it depends on how many soldiers are in your current mos .

I would assume that it would definitely get a foot in the door for you. Since you have previous experience and passed and a security screening. But keep in mind, a lot of the civilian intelligence analyst and operation specialist in the civilian world requires at least a bachelors degree. So you might need the to work for the DEA, FBI, CIA, etc.
I highly recommend it. Here’s how I did it. Associate degree criminal justice, bachelor’s degree in homeland security and master’s degree in intelligence management. You’ll have better opportunities with education. As a CI special agent education and your brain is ur backbone and ultimate weapon. One mind any weapon.

I wouldn't say "Don't" like the gentleman above me. I would however suggest you do Civil Affairs rather than PSYOPS. And if you're enlisting to go AD then you will have to be an E4 I believe with a certain amount of AD service time. My friend in my battalion just got selected and is leaving soon. So I'm sure I'll hear good things about it. Civil Affairs was my first goal to do before enlisting. I've since then changed it to some other cool stuff.

Yes, it is now an entry-level MOS. If interested, talk to your recruiter about it. But keep in mind, chances are the recruiter will not know much about 35L. So do your own research, and talk to people inside the MOS, and if it really is what you want to do, don't let the recruiter try to convince you otherwise.

haha so funny story about that, I am an MP, and I was originally going to go active duty but MEPS was like “we don’t have a spot-“ blah blah and They said what about reserves? and I said whatever, sure and instead of assigning me to the MP company in my reserve building, they slotted me into the CID spot upstairs😂 and they all stared at me dumbfounded cause everyone is usually E5 and above but here i was, fucking Pv1😭😂 but, by the grace of god my commander kept me because she saw promise in me and I’ve spent 3 years there so far. Though, just leaving for a new unit but i can’t really say cause i’ve barely done MP work, but that will deeeeffinitely help you get in, and i can tell you that you’ll have a high chance. Once you find a CID unit, usually you have an interview with the chief and they’ll decide from there. Though now they are using IPPS-A which is so dumb and broken but slots are getting smaller and they are minimizing CID as a whole so i’d you are set on it, do it now :) and if you have a degree, that helps too. majorly.

are these agents equivalent to 1811 special agents? Fed law enforcement credentials, arrest powers, carrying, etc.
