Thank you for taking the time to do this podcast. It was convicting and also helped me see areas in my own life that need to change. It really was simple and easy to understand.
I randomly came across this podcast. I have been saved three years. I was so drastically and radically saved that i love Jesus with everything inside me. I had gotten sucked into a seeker sensitive church, as a new church plant. I was becoming so hungry (under fed) while being at this church. I was in leadership for 2 years. I have stepped down and am seeking another church. God was clearly showing i couldnt grow there. All i want is to follow Jesus and be around people that desire Him and the word of God. Being in lukewarm churches make lukewarm believers. It steals that fire. God showed me the idolatry wrapped up in these churches. They praise the church, they praise the pastor, and they glorify themselves through serving, making it unclean. The vine is useless and burned up in the fire and has no fruit. Thank you for speaking on this.
Love these messages. I've been watching them out of order so after this one I'll be caught up on all episodes that are currently out. I was going from church to church especially the consumer churches. I fell victim to a lot of the false promises and false Gospels. I would frequently raise my hand for altar calls or to say the sinner's prayer because I thought this week would be the week that I finally got it all together. I always say that when you're hungry and you're going through all these churches the crumbs that they give you feels like a meal because you are starving. Which is why people get sucked in just long enough and then they end up leaving. Then the consumer cycle repeats. Yes, at different points I did get revelations through these different churches or learned something in the season I was in, but I wasn't doing Church. I was fortunate enough to come across a church that does discipleship and teaches about deliverance and healings and it radically changed me. It revealed to me the power of being a believer. It taught me how to fufill the Great Commission. However, recently it's been starting to look more like an institutionalized church. I feel closer to God when I am doing small groups, leading my family, or ministering to people in the back of my lyft or that I meet on the street. My wife and I are now talking about starting to do organic church and I feel like we found these messages at the right time. Thank you and I pray that these messages touch more believers and show them how church is actually supposed to look. God bless you both!
I really appreciate you sharing your story. I believe the more open we are about our journey the more others will realize they are not crazy and are going through similar things regarding "church". Excited for you and your wife and the journey God is taking you on! Thanks for encouraging us, we pray that our conversations continue to encourage you!
At 27:00 When Cvd hit I had a dream/vision where God showed me there would be a mass exodus from the church but that they weren’t leaving HIM they were walking away from the building… the pastor at the time (who was embezzling money and being a major divisive presence in the church at the time unknown to us at the moment of this conversation) he asked me what I felt the Lord was saying to me and I told him exactly that and he PANICKED, black balled me and told all the families with children to stay home (so that the older members could attend and pay the bills) we then started meeting in our homes and then all that was in secret came out and he is no longer “in the ministry” and the 30s somethings woke up to what the word of God SAYS and we can’t UNSEE IT. Your conversation with Torben was a MAJOR factor and model for how we started and I am thrilled that you guys are speaking LOUDER 😊🎉❤
Wow..Thank you for sharing that! Though I haven’t had a dream like that I have been feeling that exact way for about 7 years! We have seen the fruit of what we are talking about here and believe God said it is time to speak louder like you said. And you are exactly right, once you see it you can’t go back!
I have binge watched your vieos and am amazed God led me to your channel because I can relate so much to your lives. I hope you guys make more videos :) I turned on notifications to your channel just in case!
A new Apostle was selected to replace Judas because the Apostles knew they were the ones that would one day judge the twelve tribes. They needed twelve Apostles to do that.
YT algorithm connected us, for that I’m thankful! I watched a bunch of your videos and looks like we walk a very similar kingdom/ biblical gospel centered life. A sincerely honest question… I see the good intentions of homeschooling kids, but how one reconciles homeschooling with removing Holy Spirit filled disciples from being salt and light in the dark of the world? How is that so different than hiding the light inside of a building or under a basket (using your analogy)?
Good discussion on consumer Christianity. I would however take issue with the idea of losing your salvation if you fall back or aren't fully committed. This person may indeed be saved but they are not disciples. This idea would say that salvation is by works. Salvation is Christ's finished work on the cross...period. There are many lukewarm and or carnal Christians in the body of Christ. Again, they are saved but did not go on to be discipled. This may or may not because of their choices. In many cases its the fault of leaders who led them to Christ without discipling them. Paul speaks of these types of believers in this passage of scripture: I Corinthians 3:14,15 4If what he has built survives, he will receive a reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as if through the flames
Keep these coming! 🔥🔥🔥
Fellow homeschool family here for all the convos. My husband and I are beginning this journey of renewing our minds with regards to church etc.
