I used occasionally to do business trips to Russia 2002-2010. It was clear that in case of illness/ emergency, a private clinic was the only safe option. Best part of those trips was the return flight from St.Petersburg to Helsinki :)

Around 30 years ago I read a story about a westerner living in Russia during their economic boom period. He was riding his motorcycle home one night and was in an accident that broke his leg. An ambulance came for him. The ambulance driver was so drunk he could barely drive. He and the attendant tried to pick up this guy with a broken leg, dropped him and caused further injury. They took him to a hospital like Ivan described where he was treated by a Russian doctor. After he left the hospital he had to fly to Europe to repair the damage caused by the ambulance driver, attendant and the doctor at the hospital. No thank you!

@DeniseDDS - And that is precisely why it currently takes a long time for a Russian citizen, to be accepted as a Resident Alien by the DHS = they are coming from a "corrupt country" so why would they also "not be corrupt" is the general feeling. The State Department also feels that way somewhat. This is especially the case since 18 months ago shortly after Russia attacked Ukraine; however, as difficult as it is with a POTUS represented by the Democratic Party, it will be almost impossible if Donald J. Trump; who as a White Nationalist is "anti-immigrant" (whether an Immigrant lands legally or illegally, by the way) becomes President again. Thankfully, all the algorithims point to the Democratic Party POTUS candidates winning on November 5 as of today.

You still don't get it and apparently don't have a clue what's happened in Russia at all. Hint: there was no political freedom ever and any freedom of expression or protest disappeared around 2010. Nothing to do with a physical war. Only the latest, more brutal opression of all freedoms possible are turned to eleven since 2022. Foundation for this shizofascist regime was put in decades ago and usesva mix of Soviet KGB, cheka rat and more modern time-refined means of governance and violent control. You didn't see nothing close to that ex.g. in America or other democratic countries (even if the wars they take part in are not on their soil) while they're actively fight wars. On freedoms, a hybrid WW3 between Russia and its true terrorist allies are in full swing by now, there is no major difference in wartime circumstances between any NATO member or Russia. However you see the differences in measures taken during this war (which Kremlin confirms by many statements), which is incomparable between Russia and its proxy enemies. Only comparable between the former and its closest dictatorship allies.

Hey Ivan, that Soviet style apartment brought back memories for me. I worked in Moscow in the early 1990s and one of the apartments I stayed in was just like that, in one of the Khrushchev blocks. In those days, the district heating system could not cope with the demands from the whole of the city in winter time, so on a rota system districts were shut off for a week or two at a time. I remember it was -20C outside and there was only a couple of electric convector heaters with which to get some warmth in the place. Obviously, I expect it isn't as primitive as that now though.

Keep doing what you are doing, Ivan. You are a natural at this. I and others actually comment to you personally by using your name. That is great as people are relating to you like someone they know.
Do not let trolls bother you but you did a great job in debunking what they said. I know you are Russian as i started following you long before you left Russia. How is the other guy who went along with you and Evelina before you left? I wondered if he was mute as he never said a word, lol.

Back in the day, I visited Leningrad, now known as St. Petersburg. Being a broke student at the time, I managed to fund my trip by selling a couple of inexpensive digital watches on the black market and made a 10-fold profit. It was an unforgettable experience! However, upon departure, I found myself with an excess of Russian currency (back then, Russian customs had strict rules against leaving with more money than you entered with). So, spotting an elderly woman cleaning the streets nearby, I decided to give her all my rubles. To my astonishment, she burst into tears! It dawned on me that what I had given her was equivalent to three months' wages for her. It was nice to leave and leave all that madness behind.

I grew up behind Iron Curtain.
If you didn’t pay you were sick, if you lay in a hospital cockroaches ran over you, if you sit on a toilet you get 🤮crabs, I’ve lost baby due to Chernobyl, what a chaos.
If I didn’t pay under the table my son wouldn’t walk properly.
It is all true, that’s how I grew up in Czechoslovakia.
I also understand, very hard to believe it until you live it.

Ivan. I am a fan of your channel. I am a veteran of the US Army. I was a participant of the gulf war in 92. I understand your decision to leave Russia to avoid participation in an Ilegal war. I like your videos at the Lada dealer in Moscow. I also liked your video at the classic car museum in Moscow and how you were excited to see some American Classics. I could picture you being in America and owning a car dealership. I also thought it was cool see your love of Cadallacs. NOt too many of those in Moscow these days I bet. You stated that you would like to come to America. Your english is very good and as a language major I know how hard it is to learn a foriegn language. You should look into coming to
Florida USA. I live in a city called Vero Beach. We have many golf resorts. We have nice warm weather. You should be used to it by now after your stay in Thialand. You should apply for a seasonal visa worker at a florida golf resort. In my city we have many high end private golf clubs. They always look for temp workers for the season. if you act now you could be here for November. Everyone comes here for our winters. They are spectacular. If you can get a work visa you could come earn a lot of money in 6 months and do youtube in Florida. If you get a work visa maybee you could extend at season's end. We have many lovely beaches and great weather. Check out the Moorings private golf club or the Redsticks golf club. Im sure you could be a server or a bartender they make good money. That is what I do. I commend you for your wisdom and not being sucked into going to war for the Mad Man at the helm. The situation in Ukreane is Insane. Hopefully one day I can go see Russia and meet all the good people there, I am sure there are many. I made friends with a few young Russian girls who were studying in the states. They were very intelligent and i was impressed. I can remember when the Soviet Union fell and the vibe between America and Russia was cool. We even sent a bunch of famous Americans to go there and do a concert with Ozzy, Billy Joel, and even Motley Crue. Hopefully one day we can all live in Peace again. My email is billmueller 2024@hotmail.com. my cell is 772-925-9042. Text me if you want to reach out. God bless you lets pray for peace and a world where greed and ambition does not create death , destruction and Chaos.
