I remember 2 deliveries of Mohammad Amir where he appealed for consecutive LBWs but given not out. The commentators compared him with great Wasim Akram. And on the 3rd delivery, right in front of the wickets, shout for an LBW and boom an easy decision for the umpire. That spell was so magical.
Asif, on the other hand, was not giving any less effort to bother those batsmen. Beautiful era of those two.
Just remember this Australian team was arguably the best team in the world at the time and all out for 88 was a shocker

In his prime Asif was literally unplayable in swinging conditions especially. I recall I got a lot of flak from a Pakistani fan in UA-cam on my comment that in the 2000s Asif was more dangerous to us Indian fans compared to Shoaib - but it was what it was . This man wasn't as fast as fellow teammates but with his magic he was more lethal than bowling partners in either old or new ball. He was destined to be an all time great , however greed caused his downfall. Goes on to show that you may be immensely gifted person in your craft, but character is main deciding factor in long run

These two used to make the red cherry dance to their tunes even on the bestest of batting conditions. It's an utter shame that the spot fixing in 2010 Lord's Test not only robbed Pakistan a series victory against England but also destroyed careers of two swing prodigies. Equally shameful to see such another talented cricketer like Salman Butt himself not resisting against those match fixers and going down himself with Asif and Aamir. The 2010 UK tour saw Pakistan cricket breaking the 15-year winless run against Aussies in Test cricket and then in next couple of weeks, going down the drains with that infamous spot fixing saga. If they would have won at Lord's, things would have definitely changed for good for Pakistan.

You can clearly see the control and difference in swinging the ball, which amir has lost to some extent after his ban. He was a completely different and a very lethal bowler before the ban.
