Hi. Just wondering did you drop the exhaust to gain access to the bottom hose with the 7mm jubilee clip?. Or was there enough room with the exhaust shielding removed. Thanks.
First of all, thank you for your very helpful video. I have a question about oil viscosity, turbo protection, oil consumption ratio and what is recommended by ford. How do we know if the oil consumption is from turbo or piston rings, why ford does recommand the use of 5w30 WSS-M2C-913-D independently of exterior temperature (winter and summer), which is thinner than 5w40? Is adding 0.7 liter every 1000 Km is a high oil consumption ratio ? Changing for 5w40 will decrease this ratio, but I'm afraid of damaging the pistons rings with thicker oil. what do you think ? thank you very much.
Hi there, 0.7 L for 1000 km is high for that engine. Tdci normaly consumes oil more but around 1L and below for 5k kms if high mileage to 7k kms if low mileage. its a rough estimate. There's no issues to use 5w40 grade oil. I guess ford doesnot want the people to be confused so they made it stick to single grade unlike other brands using a viscosity chart in their user manuals. If you live in extreme cold, 5w30 will be good so it reaches parts way faster eliminating warmup failures than 40 grades. and if you live in moderate cold or hot places, 5w40 is the best choice. You might feel a bit less in the gas mileage but its good considering the engine life.
@@dailyhandsdiy Thank you for your reply 🙏. But what's the issue with the 1.5 tdci engine, piston rings or turbo, I have some oil in the outlet and inlet of the turbo, can piston rings be the issue or the turbo. The fuel consumption is very low (4l/100km) and the engine sounds and drive is also well. What do you think about the oil consumption origin, will 5w40 resolve the problem. Thank you again for your help.
Oil consumption in turbo diesel majorly happen when the turbo seals go bad and pushes oil into intake side also exhaust side both ways consumes oil. Piston rings wont take that much amount of oil but if the rings are gone completely there's a chance. In ford 1.5 the turbo seals cant hold the oil inside and pushes into inlet and the ccv system has also a negtive impact on turbo aswell. crank case pressure should be negative a bit not too negative but like below atmos.pressure so that the air pressure inside the turbo housing can leak through the seals and guide the working oil to the sump. But sometimes the ccv accidentally fails at some times and cause the oil to make way through turbo seals. Its a bit difficult to understand. So a thicker oil finds it difficult to make leak through ways and also it lowers the back compression ie low crankcase gas accumulation. all these can make the consumption a lil lower but cant say how much...could try and check.
@@dailyhandsdiy Thank you for your deep explanation 🙏. Can I know what was the oil consumption amount and oil viscosity you were using when you decided to change Turbo seals. Should i get turbocharger repaired or serviced. What will be the cost of repair etc.will it give better results after. If i go for new then also let me know the cost. Thanks
Hey brother, new one costs around 30 to 35k, you can service the current turbo to get reconditioned by new set of seals. This can lower the consumption to much extend. And pls do use 5w40 grade oil if you regularly use yr car in city or if the climate is too hot.
Oil inside intercooler is normal. its from ccv system. The small pipe just before the turbo that connects the main pipe. Oil vapour travels from that part to intake. Thats normal..but if its consuming more oil...should check the turbo for leaks or could just try upgrading the engine oil to a bit thicker one.
Mostly happens if the oil quality is too bad ...if this happened after an oil service, change the oil immediately. Else there are many things to look after, oil pressure switch, main bearings etc...
Should check the engine back compression. And its quite normal in these days to see a bit more oil consumption in ford vehicles. check the turbo if it has any excess turbine play.
I have same problem of oil leaking and smoking too much, can it be driven for few days before taking it to mechanic for repairing. I am in remote area and had to finish my project before taking it to garage.
@@dailyhandsdiy thanks bro, one more question, will it required to change the whole set? My car has been driven for 26000 km only or Just replacing the core will solve the problem? Thanks in advance.
If you can find the core, thats enough but first really have to find the oil consumption and smoke, root causes. Normaly these 1.5 tdci do have some design flos which has higher oil consumption rates.
@@dailyhandsdiy Make some detail video on the topic as on :- how can we make our turbocharger longer life and it's maintainance like diesal car with turbo gives problem after 1 lakhs km soo what all will be the solutions soo that we can easily take care of our car turbo .
Its all about oil change and grade brother. If you are driving regularly at city traffics change at 6 or at 7k kms. Highwy mixed at 7 or 8k and highways at 10k max. Also if the climate is moderate and cold use 5w30 grade and if hot and harsh use 5w40 grade oil. This will give good life to your turbo.
Bro this isn't my car it's some one else's... here the core heated a bit and ruined the oil seals and made the rubber o ring inside rigid which pushed all the oil into intake. I guess the oil used before or was using non standard one which became too thin at higher temperature and losses its heat transfer capabilities.
Some people, start the cold engine and run, and some people after long drive immediately off the the car, this is biggest reason of turbocharger failed. Another reason back comparison.
@@visharadsudans I was also using 5w30 in turbo failer, oil consumption 2 ltrs per 1000 km. Mechanic suggested me use Shell 15w40 thick oil for low consumption. Due to back comparison in 1.4 TDCi engine, I can not replace turbocharger.
@@jaswinder4011 This could be a part reason for turbo failures, cold start and running for 10 seconds means to gain the wrking condition of air compression and turning off suddenly after huge operation will make sudden reverse flow of compressed air when still the turbine spins in opposite direction making huge stress on fins. Some times this could break the fins. Major reason for turbo failure is over heating and excess friction.
Hm...it all depends on the type of tools and the way one uses it. Some times a bolt or nut can seize or round off causing a 5 min job to become 1 hr job. Also as said, the way one handles the job adds too.
bro are the ford engines are less reliable i seen many cars which just clocked 120000 and engine failure even my car has run nearly one lac 20 thousan and engine failure

Hey sir,my ecosport 1.5tdci has a fault code p1002 but the mechanics was having a hard time to pin point the problem...When the engine is running at rpm of 3.5 the gear sign will appear and the power will lower to max speed of 130km/hr...tnx
Hi are you sure about code or is it p0102?
How much km it ran before replacing the turbo
Almost 1.5 lk kms
Is it normal to find bubbles in coolant reservoir when the engine is revved? Or it is flow of coolant. The engine is 1.5 tdci sohc.
Its normal to find form when rev hard, but bubbles its not usual. Check if the coolant make bubbles when idling.
Brother i have ,2013 ford ecosport Titanium tdci diesel. It consumes 1 lit 5w30 helix engine oil every 1500 kms. I got my engine checked and back compression etc is ok.
Can i top up 5w30 engine oil with 5w40
You may add but for effective output have to drain the old one and fill in new... means after turbo service
Thanks brother for these nice information. Since ford has quit india can any other mechanic do servicing of ford ecosport turbocharger
Au.SS never do the servicing. They jst know to replace it. you can give it to local experts. i meant turbo experts.
What is the size of allen key you have used?
Its 10mm
Hello bro My ecosport 2015 is consuming more oil i have change the oil last month.. and there is oil leak in intercooler. What might be problem ???
Oil inside intercooler is normal. its from ccv system. The small pipe just before the turbo that connects the main pipe. Oil vapour travels from that part to intake. Thats normal..but if its consuming more oil...should check the turbo for leaks or could just try upgrading the engine oil to a bit thicker one.
Engine oil pressure low? 2013 titanium ecosport
Mostly happens if the oil quality is too bad ...if this happened after an oil service, change the oil immediately. Else there are many things to look after, oil pressure switch, main bearings etc...
My 2020 transit connect 120bhp is very slightly missing mainly in 3rd. Any ideas? It’s covered 78,000 miles.
Hi, do clean the air intake sensors and check egr.
Great channel btw. Subscribe bud. 👍🏼
Thanks man means a lot...😁👍
The engine oil gets consumed in my Ecosport 1.5 TDCI 2013 model
There seems to be engine oil on my turbo
Can replacing a turbo resolve this problem?
Should check the engine back compression. And its quite normal in these days to see a bit more oil consumption in ford vehicles. check the turbo if it has any excess turbine play.
I have same problem of oil leaking and smoking too much, can it be driven for few days before taking it to mechanic for repairing. I am in remote area and had to finish my project before taking it to garage.
That won't be a problem, few days won't make much trouble.
Every time I turn on my car when is cold the dashboard says low oil pressure
Do you think it could be the turbo as it is dirty with oil?
Could be bad oil or the pressure switch might be malfunctioning.
@@dailyhandsdiy I don't think is the oil
I change every 10 k miles
And I use fully synthetic 5w30
Do you recomend any good obd reader for my ford fiesta tdci 2013?
I don't know which one I should use
this turbocharger is of which brand GARRET or SUOTEPOWER or TEL ? OR the FORD have there own ?
Haven't noticed anything written on the housing and its not TEL for sure.
Bro how did your car's turbo failed ? You follow good maintainence tips and you are yourself mechanic
@@dailyhandsdiy why he didnt use 15w40 for better heat protection . I think he used 5w30 which protects the engine lesser in high temp
Just wondering how long this took to do ?
Hi, the job took almost 4 hrs to dismantle n refit. A professional expert can do this like below 3 hrs. Turbo servic can take additional time.
Thanks for the reply,my garage charged me for 5 and a half hours 🤷♂️👍
Hm...it all depends on the type of tools and the way one uses it. Some times a bolt or nut can seize or round off causing a 5 min job to become 1 hr job. Also as said, the way one handles the job adds too.
Bro whats the price of turbo service
can range btwen 5k to 8k depending the dealer.
Great work 🔥
Thanks bro :)
bro are the ford engines are less reliable i seen many cars which just clocked 120000 and engine failure even my car has run nearly one lac 20 thousan and engine failure
Can't say its less reliable because there are cars run more than 3 lks with stock engines. Jst routine maintenance practices will keep em good.
Oh
:D
my ecosport is having high oil Consumption, Dont knowif it is turbo can you share your contact
Its 9747932260
Hi Joffin I have the same issue in my 2015 ecosport. Do let me know what was the issue and how did you resolved it. Also the cost and parts involved. It will be a great help. Thanks in advance
How much cost of turbo core or whole turbocharger?
Core would be difficult to get from dealer could service it or buy a new one.
@@dailyhandsdiy Ford's parts are too much costly, injectors,EGR and Turbo are mostly in cars k khraab rehte hai.
@@jaswinder4011 Yes thats ryt. Replacing will cost around 30 35k so ppl usually go for second or service.
@@dailyhandsdiy yes bro people avg earning around 30k per month..
It's difficult to buy to much costly parts.
@@jaswinder4011 Tru brother...
Please bro
price of turbo
Complete turbo costs like 30k and repairs can cost between 5k to 10k
I need to after service the turbo there will be little shake in turbine
👍🏻
✌️😊
Good
✌️😁
why ford engines are less reliable rather toyota all engines are strong what is the reason behind dis..
Basically toyota has better built structures a bit complicated design but designed for long lasting as you can see d4d engine have injectors kept in oil bath so it cools the injectors good similarly many things and even if they are not maintained they too fail easily.
this car mass air flow senor is same as old car
Bro din get you..?!
ford figo aspire has same mass air flow senor as old figo
No bro there's difference in 1.4 tdci and 1.5 tdci.
