Is the wastegate operation for the fiesta's turbo different from others? The vacuum is not given to the waste gate actuators, but as far as I understand, the wastegate gets opens once the actuator pushes the rod outwards once there is more than enough boost pressure build up inside the turbo. Also, can you share how the wastegate nut is properly adjusted for the correct turbo pressure. Thanks
Its boost actuated turbos. a small pipe is connected to pressure side of turbo to the actuator. Once reached 16 psi, its automatically adjusts the wastegate. Actually egr funtions according to the engine load calculations. It doesn't matter where the speed is or rpm is. Some cars with sports mode shuts it down after some rpm for peak performance but in passenger cars tuning is different. while accelerating engine load calculations will be high so it shuts off for that pickup and athe time you idles or start cruising, engine load drops so egr opens. ie the car need much power to maintain that speed thats ol. If you kept the waste gate untouched during changing core, there wont be any problem, if you changed the previous position of gate adjustment nut, have to check for 17 or 18 psi boost

Hi there, yes it was a succes. I may have posted another video but its a different car or make. It will go success unless there's a problem with turbine housing.

Core is difficult to get online from OEM suppliers.. will get offline but amazon has it i think. Jst search ford turbo core. And for full set boodmo.com/catalog/part-turbo_charger_assembly-38210538
One thing tobe noted is while you opened the compressor side to check, pressure on that side will be low as its open to atmosphere and turbine side will be high, so its obvious to leak a bit of oil to compression side. That will be gone after fittings amd pressure on both sides equalise. check the oil level regularly after assembling and see if its going down.
it actually depends on the make, like ford, toyota, volvo, bmw all these has normal high consumption but for fiat, suzuki, chevrolet etc using a seperate oil seperator consumes less oil compared to the beforesaid. For ford normaly till 300 or even 500 is normal for like 6000 to 7000 kms. 1 ltr or above for 5000 is considered high consumption and for fiat or suzuki upto 500or 600 ml is safe till 10k kms above that is considered high consumption. One thing to be noted, it also depends on the quality and vapourising character of the oil too.
@@dailyhandsdiy if it was ford 1.4 tdci. then replacing Turbo charger is the only solution? what would be the price for turbo charger core including labour? i think no need to change whole turbo assy just core is enough like you said.
If its ford need to check the back compression. if its ok then turbo is the only thing causing excessive oil consumption. Also upto 500 600ml at 7k kms is accepted in normal range also. upto 700 to 900ml for high mileage ie abve 1L 1.5L kms is also acceptable. And yes just changing the core is needed unless the turbine blade hv done a serious damage to the housing. It comes around 6 to 7k for core and labor below 2k i guess varies in different region.
@@dailyhandsdiy 1.5 lakh km reading . 4 or 5 months back Local mechanic checked back compression by Removing oil cap and dipstick . Then he found little bit of smoke coming out from it. But i have not checked it in recent time . Mileage is less than 20kmpl. Found some oil leakage on a pipe/hose below turbocharger and on above and sides of tappet cover
A small amount like vapour from dipstick is not a back compression. If there's, the smoke will push out like something is pushing from aside. And the oil cap, just open the cap and place there, rev the engine to 2500 rpm, check if blows away or is kept pressed in.
First 5 mins lots of white smoke coming in fiesta diesel engine and engine oil also draining quickly. Changing turbo core will solve my issue and i m seeing pickup drop also
1 lk kms. Don't look at the mileage bro, this got serious when the owner hit a poth hole and made a dent on the oil sump and blocked strainer. turbo ran without proper lub and overheated.
Bro its not because of stiffness, unlike other brands ford's suspension is designed for European roads which are smooth roads. ie the rubber padding given on the suspension mount is thin or lets say even no pad at all. Indian cars have thick padding or rubber mountings so to absorb those harsh behavior of roads. Can't do much bro, its what its designed as.
Only thing i hav seen is to give larger side wall to the tyres. As the stock size is 175 65 14, give 185 70 14. It will absorb most of the roughness and increase ride height as well.
Hello there. I'm due for a turbo core replacement. Currently running on a stage 1 plus remap and decat on Figo 1.4 . Thinking of installing a Intercooler and bigger turbo? Any ideas. I'll ping you on WhatsApp. From Thrissur.
Hi there, I don't see a problem on intercooler but the big turbo? these engines can handle more psi of power peak but the injectors, firing quantities, oring on manifold areas etc has to be reshaped to handle more power. Or might end up blowing your engine.
Easiest way is open the dipstick place a piece of paper on top of dipstick hole. and check if the paper blows away. check this till 2000 rpm. Also open the oil cap and leave it there, rev the car to 2500 rpm nd check if blows away the cap or stays there. If the ppr and cap stays in place there's no significant bc.

Bro should be aware if the brand they put in, it should be oem company which is TEL brand. they might have swapped with Chinese one. Also should clean the cat converter properly during turbo change. And does the leak seen from out side or its inside?
There are some joints where the air can leak. One at turbo boost control diaphram, second the pipes after turbo or the clamps, third the egr pipes, and last small o rings at manifold. It should be a small leak otherwise you will see huge black smoke and worst mileage ever.
@@dailyhandsdiy Thank you for responding this quickly. Really appreciate it. I have not been facing black smoke or mileage problems . Only the hissing sound.
First have to check if the turbo turbine shaft has a normal play. Next should clean the turbo outlet pipe, reconnect the parts and run thr enginr for few kms. Dismantle the pipes again and check for excesd oil pushing from turbo. White smoke can ne off rich fuel condition which can also caused by egr, injectors, air leaks, compression loss, dirty air intake sensors etc...so should check that properly.
If you can see the clamp head, Might need a flexible head, screw driver, long extensions and a minus And if the clamp head is fixed backwards towards the engine...then its impossible.

If you kept the waste gate untouched during changing core, there wont be any problem, if you changed the previous position of gate adjustment nut, have to check for 17 or 18 psi boost
If the oil after placing is just like sparys ie at rpm higher than 2000. then it won't hurt anything but if its like droplets or huge amount to run down. Then have to check many things like drain blocks, huge back compression or bad engine ventilation, bad oil etc..
Hi bro,
Can you tell us which sensor is it?
located in the engine block just opposite to the radiator fan in figo diesel.
Really like your videos they are very helpful.
Thanks 👍
Did you mean the sensor on air filter box?
No, the one beneath it. Just opposite to a radiator fan. Seem like a turbocharger to me.
Figo aspire diesel
Oh the big one with aluminium covering, its the turbocharger.
Thank you🙏

2009 I guess
Sir was replacing turbocharger core a success in your car because you just posted another video of replacing the turbo in your car ?
Hi there, yes it was a succes. I may have posted another video but its a different car or make. It will go success unless there's a problem with turbine housing.
How long can turbo last on average?
With a proper oil change and good service, it should last to around 300k kms
Failed turbo causes black smoke problem?, Mine is having lite play in shaft and oil at air filter end
Its is one of the symptoms but black smoke could be because of other reasons too. Oi stains at filter end is not from turbo. Noticed any decrease in oil level lately.?

Bro I had just changed my turbo core tel brand bought through amazon for 6500 but still the turbo core leaks oil to the out let pipe
Which car?
@@dailyhandsdiy Ford fiesta
One thing tobe noted is while you opened the compressor side to check, pressure on that side will be low as its open to atmosphere and turbine side will be high, so its obvious to leak a bit of oil to compression side. That will be gone after fittings amd pressure on both sides equalise. check the oil level regularly after assembling and see if its going down.
Nice video... From where we can buy this core and what is the price of it.
From TEL company outlet or distributors. Can range from 5500 to 6500 depending the place and distributor.

Make a video on turbo wastegate adjustment settings of ford figo/fiest.
Sure bro, will do next time.
Excess oil consumption? how much in quantity? what are the other signs/symptoms ?
it actually depends on the make, like ford, toyota, volvo, bmw all these has normal high consumption but for fiat, suzuki, chevrolet etc using a seperate oil seperator consumes less oil compared to the beforesaid.

@@dailyhandsdiy replace for only core is success
If the shaft is not broken or did not chip the housing inner surface, replacing core is fine.
First 5 mins lots of white smoke coming in fiesta diesel engine and engine oil also draining quickly. Changing turbo core will solve my issue and i m seeing pickup drop also
Could be a turbo issue, or an egr stuck open. Could check the turbo shaft if it has some excess play.

1 lk kms. Don't look at the mileage bro, this got serious when the owner hit a poth hole and made a dent on the oil sump and blocked strainer. turbo ran without proper lub and overheated.
@@dailyhandsdiy bro can u make a video to decrease cabin sound in less budget .i have figo diesel and cabin noise is high due to stiff suspension .
@@dailyhandsdiy okk .and what's about sound reduction .is any way to reduce cabin noise except expensive damping?
Only thing i hav seen is to give larger side wall to the tyres. As the stock size is 175 65 14, give 185 70 14. It will absorb most of the roughness and increase ride height as well.
Some water or liquid flowing noise while Acclerator pedaling lightly...Ford Figo 1.5D
It can be AC refrigerant flowing or the coolant splashing into the reservoir. Just check for any leaks.
Ford figo diesel m back compressor kaise check kare
Easiest way is open the dipstick place a piece of paper on top of dipstick hole. and check if the paper blows away. check this till 2000 rpm. Also open the oil cap and leave it there, rev the car to 2500 rpm nd check if blows away the cap or stays there. If the ppr and cap stays in place there's no significant bc.

My 1.4 Tdci Figo makes noise when the turbo spools like something is leaking from pipe. Can you please help
Do you hear a hissing sound when accelerating?
@@dailyhandsdiy yes , exactly. It's very annoying. I took it to the service center. They said it is ok.
Yup possible checks are said above, hope it get resolved fast. 😊😊
I'm facing white smoke and figo ran for 107000km....
A Big Salute to you..

Can u remove oil drain insert without removing turbo ?
yes you can but a bit tricky
@@dailyhandsdiy Thanks. Any tool needed to remove it ?
If you can see the clamp head, Might need a flexible head, screw driver, long extensions and a minus And if the clamp head is fixed backwards towards the engine...then its impossible.
