Can we talk about just how what the Shroobs are doing is just plain sick? They're using the Toads as living batteries, draining them of their natural energy and the converting it into a fuel source for their machines of war. The terrible thing is...the Shroob's cruelty only gets worse...
15:45 So... we're just not going to acknowledge how Luigi and the babies completely stole that scene? No comments about how adorable he is carrying both babies? No...? Okay...
Ikr!! It's so dang CUTE....I barely paid attention to anything else going on because I was squee-ing too much. Not to mention finally getting an adorable save image.
Starched clothing is a thing. Starch keeps dirt, sweat, debris, and other grime from attaching to the clothes. This made them easier to clean. Most modern clothes are chemically treated to make them easier to clean and Starching became a thing for dress clothes mostly.
"It (Bro Flowers) is not made better by having the quartet all together." When all four are together, press the babies' buttons to hit enemies in the air. Normally the fireballs would just go under them.
@@Dorian_Scott Sticker Star was my first Paper Mario game and I thought it was really good after having beaten it like 5 times. I can see why people dislike it because it and subsequent Paper Mario games have very little of the charm that made them popular to begin with.
@@Dorian_Scott It is awkward, and no, it's not. It's a bad Paper Mario game and a bad game. Sticker Star is an objectively bad game. Liking it is one thing, but it is objectively bad both as a Paper Mario game and as a video game.
8:50 I personally like the system of buying Bro Attacks. In other rpgs, I'll often be afraid to use special moves, such as magic or other special attacks, because I always want to conserve it for a boss or hard enemy. I'll normally never use those moves on normal mooks. In Partners in Time however, I'm using those special moves more often because I know exactly how many bro moves I have and that I can always get more (Since you always have alot of coins).
After Hollijolli Village and the Forest I'm reminded of how some Paper Mario fans claim "Mario and Luigi series isn't capable of doing anything serious"
Meanwhile this game manages to be one of the darkest first party nintendo franchise games I can even think of. It's kind of freaking insane. Other spinoffs and such get dark (like PMD) but they're usually very vague about the most sinister parts, but this game is full of all-out no-holds-barred /messed up/ stuff. It caught me incredibly off guard as a kid and it still unnerves the hell out of me today.
You know, you are really good at being persuasive explaining things. You have done wonderfully with emphasizing on the things that usually annoy people and making them sound reasonable and necessary. You were great when you were talking about why Link wanted to find Navi when everyone else was annoyed by her. You are such a good persuader.
For crying out loud, just use the word "Episode!" Or "previously" and "presently." Those'd work too. And I like how Toadsworth is so obsessed with Peach's safety that he ends up chasing himself around the castle without even stopping to question why there are two of himself.
While the item attacks don't make PiT bad it's very easy to exploit once you hit the midpoint. You get so much money and so many items that you can just spam super attacks without much thought involved. Also, DID YOU THINK THIS GAME WAS DONE BEING DARK?! BECAUSE WE HAVE TOADS BEING DRAINED OF BODILY FLUIDS NOW AND WE STILL GOT MORE DARK SHIT INCOMING!
MissingnoTheGreat I don't think there's anything wrong with being able to use those attacks a ton though. If anything, I'd say it's better than Superstar Saga's system.
TackyRackyComixNEO There's nothing wrong, sure, but some of the mid-late game Bros. Items do take the challenge away from most fights (which surprised me to hear Emile say that he or at least people consider this to be the hardest M&L. Toadwood Forest/Vim Factory? Sure. Beginnings in RPGs aren't always so easy, but with Bros. Items, the rest of the game is a cakewalk compared to other M&L titles). It's why I'm glad I have other options apart from Bros. Items and that I'm not forced into using them as this game's gimmick. (10:23 - 10:24)
Spamming Bros. Attacks isn't anything new in M&L (OK it actually is BC the only game I played was BIS and that was the next game, but w/e) in BIS, with my play style, Mario almost never ran out of BP (by the end my max stat was over 100) and Luigi was a dedicated healer (ALL. HAIL. DELICIOUS. GLOVES.) And tank, so Luigi never dies and is constantly rehealing Mario whenever anything gets low (mostly HP BC as I said, BP stat is 100+, and I have the tight belt which reduces all BP costs by half)
Rexaura888 I dunno, I still had trouble with the last couple bosses when I was playing it. Either way, I feel like the system gives you a more diverse movepool than SS, making each battle more interesting visually and making you think differently rather than just "does this element work" or "can I jump on them".
As a kid I knew that the Shroobs’ weakness was ice, and as a kid, that weirded me out, because they lived on a COLD distant planet. But as today, I was contemplating that, came to a realization that maybe THAT WAS why they left and for a new planet, and was their only hope of survival. And they attacked a planet that they could conquer, that was normally warm so they could survive. But sadly for the Shroobs, it meant extinction. HAVE A NICE DAY!

I LOVE EXPLORING PEACH'S CASTLE. I love how Peach seems to have lots of free time on her hands to remodel it all the time from its vastly different appearances in Super Mario RPG, Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, and this game. Granted Zelda has inconsistent layouts for returning areas, but for this I like the idea that Peach just gets bored and remodels all the time while keeping the most important rooms just not being seen by the player.
He goes on and on about how cute the save albums are, the last few aren't all that interesting. When he finally comes up to one that's interesting he's distracted with the artistic backgrounds. Classic Chuggaa!
The Bros. Attacks being items is great because that means you can't simply spam them to win. If you DO want to spam them, you have repercussions in the form of using a ton of coins on the items rather than on something like badges or gear. In addition, it fits the more linear nature of the game, as you have to make sure you're packing enough Bros. Attacks for the area ahead, so there's a possibility that you may run out if you don't only use them when you really need to. Plus, you get more items within each area itself, so if you spread out your uses of the items enough, you'll pretty much never run out. It's also nice because if you only want a certain type of Bros. Attack, you can just sell the ones you don't use for coins to buy the ones you like. They pretty much thought of everything, which is why I think it feels so natural.
So the shroobs invaded in the past so why is everyone surprised that the shroobs invaded? if anything shouldn't they remember the invasion? My theory is that traveling back in time created some sort of power surge in the universe or something and caused the shroobs to discover the mushroom kingdom.
To be fair, the main cast is babies(Peach, Mario/Luigi, and Bowser and well babies have short memory capacities) and Toadsworth mainly freaks out over the Princess' safety or something else so he'd probably forget. The other toads, on the other hand, well they could have died I guess or like you said they simply forgot. Then again it's probably the multiverse theory where each game series takes place in a separate universe due to contradictions/tiny changes in decision making such as "I wonder if we should go on a vacation to that island shaped like a dolphin" in one universe it happened in another there's a bunch of dead pinatas but hey that's just a theory A Game Theory.
I think that toadsworth just forgot, because his obsession with the princess distracted him. E.Gadd never even knew because he was in his research lab the entire time, and as we see later, he's TOO focused on it. In toad town we learn that everyone died except for two very OLD toads. Kylie Koopa DID write a book about the invasion as revealed by a toad in peach's castle later, but she left for pi'illo island and everyone thought the book was fiction. In the sequel to this game, we learned that bowser stored shroobs in his freezer, but as we see in this game, he is very greedy and only wants treasure and doesn't care about the invasion, so he probably forgot. And I'm just going to say that people in hollijolli village got amnesia as a side effect of shroob abduction. Did I miss anything?
Multiverse theory is basically if you choose not to eat breakfast, you choose to eat cereal, or you choose to eat an apple and then those choices each create another universe/timeline that branches off from that choice. In this case, the Shroobs deciding to attack/not attack and the princess going back in time/not touching the timeline both create their own universes based on the choices their respective rulers choose to make. Game theory explains in on the episode about the Zelda timeline (This is me only explaining it if anyone was confused as to what I meant when I said multiverse theory).
Honestly, the reason I don't like the Bros Moves being consumable items is less to do with 'ugh you're simplifying the system, I'm a man, give me an MP bar', and more that it's missing the point of something I loved about Superstar Saga. In that game, almost all your special moves were unlocked by progression, so they were paced really well for one, but for two... It was really cool at the time, seeing your _mobility tools_ being reflected in combat in these really flashy, aggressive ways. Like, Mario High Jumps off of Luigi and crashes down like a meteor; Luigi squishes Mario into his mini form and plays golf with him; Mario dunks Luigi to get a crazy sneak attack. It was all really clever and fun to see; more or less every time I got access to a new interaction between both bros, I would get legitimately excited to see what the in-battle Bros attack could be. The sole exceptions to this rule are the two secret moves, Swing and Cyclone Bros, and even then, you can plainly see the re-application of the idea behind mini-Mario and the Spin Jump in there. On top of THAT, the Advanced commands? Those were the actual best! Like, in one move, it makes the action commands more involved to use, since suddenly every attack is now potentially one of two attacks, and it gives you incentive for you to use Bros moves frequently, because you might discover the Advanced version next time, you don't know. It was goddamn Christmas morning every time one of the bros started scratching his chin after a move. On top of all that, it just... felt really cool, learning on-spot new ways to exploit the sort of things you've spent the whole game doing to completely ruin a poor goomba's day. 'Well yeah, I can golf-swing you at somebody... but what if I did it like fourteen times instead of just once?' 'What if I bounced you up and gave you more spinning torque to jump on the enemy with, instead of going up with you?' The issue that arises with Bros _Items_ is that... basically everything I've said is out the window. If they're just another thing in your inventory, they'll just sorta show up whenever they show up, since they're not progression-based. They're not really related to the greater whole of the game, since it's not like you're going around throwing fireballs at things outside of combat. The closest thing to the Advanced commands is like... 'press the baby button as the shell hits a dude to do a bit more damage', which, yeah it makes the input more complex but it doesn't feel terribly clever, I guess? And here's the thing. Since there's both no Advanced commands to give incentive for you to get using them, *and* every Item has its own resource pool instead of a generic 'BP' stat, suddenly using your moves *feels* like less of a good idea. There's no promise of leveling the move up and learning new commands, there's no way to reduce the cost of performing the move by learning to do the input better, and using the move at level 3 with no slowdown or whatever, and you suddenly have a _very_ visibly limited number of times you can use each item, since you literally have a finite amount in your inventory. It's not like 'well, I can pop off a few Splash Bros against these guys since it'll go right through their spikes, and I can just slam a Syrup afterwards'. Because of this one change, it's now 'agh I only have like 7 Trampolines and I don't know how hard the boss is gonna be'. And that's a very real concern, considering the bosses in this game are... for the most part, pretty fucking bad in the HP department, having an unnecessary amount of bulk and dragging on really long. I don't really mean to say that I resent the idea of Bros Items or anything, just, I have perfectly legitimate reason to think they're objectively a worse mechanic than Bros Moves.
In my opinion BP could work and have the baby's (once they learn the move) give the advanced version ( but can only be used in a Quadruplets) and advanced cost the Babies BP and in battle with only the babies have Bros items thus allowing Bros attacks to come back(adults can't use bros items with this solution)
I saw that. I feel the same way about Sticker Star as chugga - I really didn't like it! God, that inventory system was annoying. So glad it was fixed in Colour Splash, as the cards are all the same size.
Not even 10 minutes in and I'm loving this Let's Play, Jeez. The humor, and the talk that you do (which off the top of my head I don't know what the actual word is at the moment) is just very spontaneous...and I'll stop there.
meta527II It's only akward in the sense that you need to time Fireball throws when they get big at random intervals. If you succeed at timing all the fireballs, the move will let you go on a major spamming spree to compensate the initial low throwing rate of the DT Fire Flower move
You can enhance Bro Flowers with the full team. Press X or Y then, and you lob the fireballs, so you can hit flying enemies. (Unless I'm remembering wrong, but I haven't played this game in 10 years, so... WAIT, THE GAME IS THAT OLD!?)
This is correct... I'm surprised very few people know this... It's the same thing in Bowser's inside story. X & Y can be used to hit aerial enemies. But everyone thinks that it can only be used on grounded enemies with A & B...
yep your right!!!! I still remember that playing do many years ago!!! oh yeah.....it feels weird to think of this game as SO OLD!!!! they should remake this one with a graphic update and so it doesn't feel so stiff!!!
Also spoilers but not really We are on about past toad town? I got to the princess shroob fight but i haven't played in a while and was very under leveled. What happened again?
On Bros Items, I found myself running into the opposite issue more where management becomes a tad mindless since one can basically spam the items on every battle and still have plenty left over. This is especially apparent later in the game since there's certain equipment that greatly increases the efficiently of Bros Item usage. On top of that, the power level of later Bros Items is very high, which encourages spamming them more. It's not a game-breaker and is pretty minor compared to some of the other issues I have with the game but for the aforementioned reasons and more, I didn't particularly miss the Bros Item system in future games.
Oh man, I cannot thank you enough for LPing this game, I remember absolutely loving this game as a kid, but someone who was renting out stole a whole bunch of our stuff including my DS and games. I ended up replacing my DS but not the game, I'm so happy I'll finally see the end!
He doesn't mention that and you can't read the book yourself. He does mention what the book doesn't say: the ending(last few pages appeared to have been ripped out). Small spoiler warning: He mentions the author tough: Kylie Koopa.
I can't believe it's been six years since I've started watching this channel. This is the reason I am who I am today. I sadly had stopped watching for the last year or so, since I've been finding it harder to keep up with all the channels I try to stay up to date with. I saw that he was playing one of my favorite games, even though I had never played it, I just had to watch it. I admittedly teared up a bit, I've missed watching more than I realized.
4:43 - Funny how you mention that, because that's been my biggest problem with this game so far! Then I think about it again and remember how time travel is often seen. You can only go back into another separate timeline, Multiverse theory I think. With that being the case, I'm a bit disappointed that the Shroobs aren't coming back. Due to events and discoveries near the end of the game, they are very interesting. You can even see traces of it early on that once you learn of stuff later, it all seems a bit sad really. They have these formations, technology, and obvious leader, so they can't be completely mindless. Their planet was pretty dead, but what made it so hopeless aside from no warmth from a star? Well it's quite obvious near the end, but it makes me wonder if it could've been different. In fact, I think it's possible they'd be peaceful and thriving in another universe. That multiverse theory I brought up earlier comes back here. Perhaps they are peaceful and thriving in the universe the big bros. are from which may be why they never showed up on their world. They make such interesting villains to speculate on. With what they do in this game and how startlingly successful they are, I really want them to make a comeback. They feel so unique compared to other parts of Mario games lately. Not going to say that Odyssey looks bad though. Them being interesting aliens compared to whatever a luma is supposed to be makes me yearn for a return at some point. No, my biggest gripe with this game's story is that these aliens of intrigue were thrown out soon after!
Chuggaaconroy. You were the first UA-camr that I actively watched, and I'm glad that I did. This was around 2012. You're my favorite UA-camr because you are such a charismatic and thorough person. I feel like I should've written this a long TIME ago. I look forward to watching the rest of this let's play.
The one time the save album shows a picture of them together, and he doesn't even notice it. He was too caught up with the design of the forest to even notice it. 😓
Oh and by the way Chuggaa, did you know that the Bro Flower DOES get a bit of an "improvement" when the quartet is together? If you use X/Y with the quartet, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi will lob the fireballs, enabling you to hit flying enemies. The tradeoff is that it's a little slower.
Bovine Intervention that probably gives him more of a reason to use "last time" since he makes puns too, and I don't see a problem with them after all they're pretty punderful if you ask me
8:54 I don't dislike the bros items per se, but I'm not a huge fan them being consumable items. With BP at least you can heal it mid-battle and not worry about wasting a bros attack. Granted, BP healing items are also consumable items, but at least you're only buying one item that can be used for several different attacks, as opposed to several items for each individual attack, with some being more expensive than others. You can also heal BP for free in some cases and you also don't have to worry about buying too many of the "wrong" bros item in case you encounter a lot of enemies that are strong or immune to that attack.
NIMPAK1 I will say that you at least have alternative ways of recovering BP/SP (though BP is temporary since there's only so many bosses) in other games. When an item's used in battle, unless you have a Salvage Badge variant or one of *those* badges (like the Training badge), when an Item's gone, it's gone.
8:25 I don't understand why you did not get a Salvage Badge for Mario. It does not only let you salvage healing items, but I believe it also lets you salvage attack Items (as in Bros. Attacks). Otherwise, I fully agree on what you said about Bros. Attacks in this game. My only big criticism about the Bros. Attacks is something that we have not seen yet, so I'll refrain from talking about it.
+Averqa Maybe it's the Ulti-Free Badge? Which is super OP because it basically grants the Bro wearing it infinite Bros. Items. It pretty much breaks the game, though it does require a LOT of beans just to purchase one of them.
To clarify, the Bro Flower is slightly different when you use it with the full party of four. If you press A and B for Mario and Luigi to throw, the fireballs will only hit ground enemies (same with only two bros instead of all four). However, if you press X and Y for baby Mario and Luigi to throw the fire balls while in a party of four, the fireballs are able to hit ground enemies AND flying enemies such as boo. From my experiences, I've noticed that you're able to throw the fireballs faster with Baby Mario and Luigi in the group of four. Chugga probably knew this, but didn't mention it due to it not being relevant at the time. (:
I'd say the argument against special attacks as items is simply that before, you have an option of using items, or a restore point, when you want to recover. You don't have that option now. You HAVE to burn items in battles, and that item you use then might end up being a critical item you don't have later.
11:32 I just wanna point out, while time traveling through any time hole. The only location to change is Peach Castle to Shroob Castle. If you think about it, Bowser's Castle should change from it's baby castle form to it's adult castle form.
I thought at 11:58 he was talking about the poison, I was like *"Uhh I think they just used the paint bucket and filled in the background with purple..."*
Greninja Lets Play Sorry to let you know, but the episode were recorded some time ago. If he released them when they were done, then there wouldn't be an episode every day, the episodes would obviously also take a longer time to be released. Editing takes a while too when the editing is as good as this.
13:44 actually, if the entire group is on battle, pressing X or Y in bro flower attack, it will actually launch higher to reach floating or flying enemies, so it does actually make it useful, as you cant fire to them otherwise (at least I belive thats how it worked, I dont exactly remember since its been a long time since I've played)
For your next Partners in Time video, try saying "When last we left our heroes," at the start. It sounds epic, rather fitting for a game about time travel.
I'm really enjoying your let's play of this game. I've bought the game like a year ago, but never played it. Currently I'm playing along with you and loving it. I've also started playing superstar saga which I've probably had for 2 years or so, but also never played even though I watched your let's play of that too. Thank you for making these videos and for making me play two games from my backlog that I'm actually really enjoying. As for the bros attacks being items or not. I really prefer them being items. It makes me feel safer using items than bp and I also have to say that at least for me personally the bros items are so much easier than the bros attacks in superstar saga.
Chugga please don't turn Mario into a glass cannon and Luigi into a tank. There's no real reason to have build diversity when both characters do the exact same thing, and it's not like Luigi can even protect Mario anyway. The only thing that will happen is that Luigi will just sit there uselessly high on health while Mario has to carry the fights while trying desperately not to die after being 1-Up shroomed repeatedly.
Actually my criticisms of the Bros item system are pretty much the opposite of yours. I feel that the over-generosity of the game giving you them makes them feel less valuable. There's also the matter of versatility - this comes in two flavours: firstly, the obvious one is that unlike Syrup in Superstar Saga, a Bros Item can only be used to fuel its attack. This limits your versatility unless you maintain a decent level of all relevant Bros items. Which brings me to the second issue: late-game redundancy. As you get further into the game more Bros items become available, but a lot are just straight upgrades of other ones. This makes the weaker ones near useless and makes any leftover ones feel wasted as a result. And finally, there's the issue of numbers. In games with an MP system (or in the case of SS a BP system) you know which attacks are more powerful because they have a higher MP cost which you can see in battle. This lets you feel satisfied when you choose a powerful option since it's a symbol of your growth. But with the Bros item system, there's no way to tell in the menu which is more powerful other tan it being at the bottom of the list, which only shows relative power. You can see the prices in the shop, but like you said the generosity of the game means you never do that. Overall I do think it's just a poorly implemented system. I can understand why they did it: they wanted to give the game accessibility. But it came at a cost of depth.
I also find that the actual execution of the Bros. items is lacking comparatively to the other Mario and Luigi games. Some of the early ones (like the shell) are fine, if a bit simplistic, but later on, the more powerful items apply RNG to their inputs, making it more difficult to execute them "properly." It's even more frustrating with the super bro flower since pressing the "wrong" button actually *weakens* the attack, and a button press as the required input switches counts for that. You cannot master Bros attacks in Partners in Time. You can only get relatively good at them. And that is *incredibly* frustrating for someone who came from having mastered Superstar Saga's moves.
I'm glad you defended the bros items. I honestly never had a problem, but you made a good argument for them. Also, I only bought them in a store once on my recent play through because this game is so generous. Also, with the bro flowers you can attack airborne enemies when in a quartet. That actually is a pretty important feature they have.
I understand your point about the BP system being converted into items for this game, but I personally did not like it. It was not the only reason I did not like it, but it certainly was a major contributor to why I feel it is the weakest of the Mario & Luigi games. My biggest gripe with it is the episodic feel to the game. You cannot travel to any other areas without going to the hub. The only time this happens in the whole game is when you go to Hollijolli Village the first time. You also do not revisit any areas other than the hub unless you are backtracking for items from the spots on the ground you are pointing out. You had so much freedom to travel about in Superstar Saga (and for the future games), but not here. You also cannot travel to any locations in the Present other than the hub area. I also feel there are far too many Deus Ex Machina situations as well, but won't elaborate here due to [SPOILERS]. They do hint good at one twist, but that is something to discuss later. I do really enjoy the humor presented in this game. That much does make it feel like a good Mario & Luigi game and redeems it in my mind. The babies were a great puzzle/battle mechanic that was enjoyable, with great interactions with other people. The boss fights get really good, which was a good aspect to keep up as it made sure that this cemented it as a trend for the series alongside its humor. All in all, it is a game that I have problems playing for several disliked aspects, but nostalgia and series runs does have me picking it up a few times. I do hope you can bring forward other aspects you enjoy and your perspective, but as it stands with how I would score it is a 4 or 5/10
Okay, so I thought Luigi carrying Baby Luigi when he cried on his back was cute, but when Luigi carried BOTH BABIES ON HIS BACK IS SO ADORABLE

When all four are together, press the babies' buttons to hit enemies in the air. Normally the fireballs would just go under them.
mrgameandpie I think he meant in terms of additional power, as opposed to hitting additional opponents.
Well, "better" is a pretty vague word. It made it sound as though he thought it didn't bring any benefit or alteration whatsoever.
"More advantageous or effective." If being able to hit flying enemies without any apparent drawbacks fits that definition then yes, it's better.
10:24 "It's not like it's awkward to select an attack..." *shows the most fitting example*
I guess we better fit into those overalls for battle then

holy hell this game is darker than I remember
8:50
I personally like the system of buying Bro Attacks.
For crying out loud, just use the word "Episode!"
Or "previously" and "presently." Those'd work too.
And I like how Toadsworth is so obsessed with Peach's safety that he ends up chasing himself around the castle without even stopping to question why there are two of himself.
Well He should likely remember the adventure from when he was younger?
While the item attacks don't make PiT bad it's very easy to exploit once you hit the midpoint. You get so much money and so many items that you can just spam super attacks without much thought involved.
Also, DID YOU THINK THIS GAME WAS DONE BEING DARK?! BECAUSE WE HAVE TOADS BEING DRAINED OF BODILY FLUIDS NOW AND WE STILL GOT MORE DARK SHIT INCOMING!
MissingnoTheGreat Syrup
Being in a tree is harsh. Life of a TOADSTOOL.
WOOD you make better puns.

I love that first interaction between the two Toadsworths lol. Neither of them have any idea what's going on, which makes it even more funny.
I'm glad to see the Luigi and Prince Peasly ship hasn't died since your Superstar lets play.

I LOVE EXPLORING PEACH'S CASTLE. I love how Peach seems to have lots of free time on her hands to remodel it all the time from its vastly different appearances in Super Mario RPG, Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, and this game. Granted Zelda has inconsistent layouts for returning areas, but for this I like the idea that Peach just gets bored and remodels all the time while keeping the most important rooms just not being seen by the player.
came for the Chugga stayed for the Chugga
The music in Toadwood forest is great. It's really creepy and mysterious, and it just sounds great.
It could be that, I believe it may be an alternate universe or maybe they didn't want to remember that horrible time and tried to forget it
To be fair, the main cast is babies(Peach, Mario/Luigi, and Bowser and well babies have short memory capacities) and Toadsworth mainly freaks out over the Princess' safety or something else so he'd probably forget.
Multiverse Theory?
'Well yeah, I can golf-swing you at somebody... but what if I did it like fourteen times instead of just once?' 'What if I bounced you up and gave you more spinning torque to jump on the enemy with, instead of going up with you?'
The issue that arises with Bros _Items_ is that... basically everything I've said is out the window.
Anyone else notice the 1 frame Easter egg chugga put in at 10:24 or is it just me?
epicperson556 I got it, after 2 minutes of trying because I'm on my phone
I saw that.
I feel the same way about Sticker Star as chugga - I really didn't like it!
God, that inventory system was annoying. So glad it was fixed in Colour Splash, as the cards are all the same size.
Lily I got it done in 2 tries
@@PRT95 No it wasn't! It's simple to select an attack in that game.
Please name your next episode "Invader Vim"

Should we break the 4th wall and say last episode?
DMHN Spacell idk bro
Chugga's fan-base is the best ever
Love you guys :D
Just use "Last EPISODE." Good? Good.
P.S. I know these videos are recorded in advanced, but still.
HighestKey 0916 I don't think they are recorded in advance, only TRG is.
Amanti Familio they're reordered in advance to a point, it's not TRG style all in a few days but he does episodes ahead of time and in batches.
SugaredEdits Ohhhhh okay thank you for clarifying that =)
SugaredEdits okay thanks
HighestKey 0916 no problem!
Not even 10 minutes in and I'm loving this Let's Play, Jeez. The humor, and the talk that you do (which off the top of my head I don't know what the actual word is at the moment) is just very spontaneous...and I'll stop there.
I'm so used to seeing the god-awful fire flower from Bowser's Inside Story that seeing one that's actually useful surprised me
At least it's not as annoying as the fire flower in Dream Team.
I doubt that
and how is it better than BIS it's the same thing
bearfaery except in dream team the timing is really awkward
the dream team fire flower is easily the best of them IMO in terms of usefulness
meta527II It's only akward in the sense that you need to time Fireball throws when they get big at random intervals.
Dammit you beat me to this comment!!!
I've replayed this game so many freaking times and I'm just now finding out about this?!
This is correct... I'm surprised very few people know this... It's the same thing in Bowser's inside story. X & Y can be used to hit aerial enemies. But everyone thinks that it can only be used on grounded enemies with A & B...
yep your right!!!! I still remember that playing do many years ago!!! oh yeah.....it feels weird to think of this game as SO OLD!!!! they should remake this one with a graphic update and so it doesn't feel so stiff!!!
snailgirl6 there doing a 3ds remake of superstar saga so they might do one for PIT
Big spoilers!
Toadwood forest, one of the most disturbing places in PiT, aside from toad town, holli jolly village, and the vim factory!
Also spoilers but not really
We are on about past toad town? I got to the princess shroob fight but i haven't played in a while and was very under leveled. What happened again?
Like half the locations in this game are disturbing in some form.
no toad town is in the of the lasts areas we go to in the game.
Honestly, this is probably just the darkest Mario & Luigi game to date.
It seems every time I'm watching a Chugga series as it's being uploaded it's a Mario game. First Super Paper Mario, then Superstar Saga, now this.
Oh man, I cannot thank you enough for LPing this game, I remember absolutely loving this game as a kid, but someone who was renting out stole a whole bunch of our stuff including my DS and games. I ended up replacing my DS but not the game, I'm so happy I'll finally see the end!
I love how he changes his Channel icon and banner to match the game he's playing.
Yivic Me too. Sometimes I'll go back to his old LP announcement videos just to see the other logos.
10:23 I saw that sticker star menu
Stop with these time puns, they are TICKING me off!
A1 Video Gamer you better calm down, i'm WATCHing you
BOOOOOO!
... no wait that was last episode
You're making me lose my TIME with these comments
How 'bout we just stop TOCKING about this? Besides, all of these puns are pretty WEEK.
Anthony Ju I gotta HAND it to u those are pretty good
i love how emile's been telling us how good the save albums get and as soon as there's an adorable one he doesn't even mention it
4:50 funnily, the toad in that room(that you just talked to) actually mentions a book about shroobs later on in the game
Wout Oostenbrink What does the book say? I am very very curious.
He doesn't mention that and you can't read the book yourself. He does mention what the book doesn't say: the ending(last few pages appeared to have been ripped out).
Small spoiler warning:
He mentions the author tough: Kylie Koopa.
I'm finally on TIME for this video!
7:37 This badge is great for easy recovery. Plus you won't have to spend money on Refreshing herbs, and i believe it blocks the "trip" status effect
I accidentally gave Luigi a higher speed stat than Mario ... I ... I feel like the universe around me is tearing apart at the seams ... SEND HELP!
I Guess Im ON TIME, man all these puns are starting to TICK me off
I guess I'm the SECOND comment
The next person better make a day joke
Use "In the last episode" instead of "last time" in your intros if you want to avoid excessive time puns
Bovine Intervention that probably gives him more of a reason to use "last time" since he makes puns too, and I don't see a problem with them after all they're pretty punderful if you ask me
Ethan Larrabee what
Emile is the least likely person to want to avoid puns, lol
It's awkward. And I'm sure there is a limit to how many puns he can handle.
Toad is a really fungi.
HyperSonic was it really worth making that joke about toad
(Hint: toadsworth)
CaptainMAKO I mean, it's not mush, but is something.
HyperSonic Toad's worth being called fun.
Oh boy. Vim Forest...I'm ready for this game to take the darkest turn
I've beaten the game before, I'm curious. What are you talking about?
Me too please.
+HeavyDonkeyKong I think it's the increase of bros attacks that are more about mashing extremely fast - we've only seen one so far o.o
+Averqa
Maybe it's the Ulti-Free Badge? Which is super OP because it basically grants the Bro wearing it infinite Bros. Items. It pretty much breaks the game, though it does require a LOT of beans just to purchase one of them.
I just didn't like it as much because it's only a chance of refunding items.
So, I can't wait to see the next chugga comment recipe
This was my favorite game when I was younger. Thanks for reminding of my childhood. Do more mario let's plays please
I just noticed for the first time, Chugga's UA-cam logo is animated in the notifications o-o
I didn't notice till I checked my notifications today.
TheFrostyIcecreamSlush same I was in my notifications and then I saw it
the whole "seeing Toads in tree while whispering "help me" thing really brings in Aliens flashbacks
i sent this from internet explorer so i dont know when this will get here but, CONGRATS ON THE 10K SUBS!
I'd say the argument against special attacks as items is simply that before, you have an option of using items, or a restore point, when you want to recover.
You don't have that option now. You HAVE to burn items in battles, and that item you use then might end up being a critical item you don't have later.
Did anybody else notice the resemblance to geno's forest from super Mario RPG
EdgedPixie when was sticker star mentioned by this person?
I replied to the wrong comment. My apologies! I'm in the wrong here!
Like how Chugga said, "LUCKY!" So aggressively 😂
11:32
I just wanna point out, while time traveling through any time hole. The only location to change is Peach Castle to Shroob Castle. If you think about it, Bowser's Castle should change from it's baby castle form to it's adult castle form.
I thought at 11:58 he was talking about the poison, I was like
*"Uhh I think they just used the paint bucket and filled in the background with purple..."*
"Refreshing Herbs are new"
Superstar Saga: Am I a joke to you?
What am I? Chop liver?
I already can't wait for Mario and Luigi: Bowsers inside story.
Me neither. That carrot part sucks, though.
Also this part of the game gave me freaking nightmares when I first played this game.
Wow. Now that I know how this game ends, I can see just how beautifully it was set up.
We need a Time pun counter!
Chugga I always believe in you cause your one of my top favorite UA-camrs
Next episode he should say: "Chugga chugga chuggaconroy." :).
i''ve been waiting 5 years for him to make that pun
I mean, Brainscratch has made the pun plenty of times at least.
Spirit Tracks?
Greninja Lets Play Sorry to let you know, but the episode were recorded some time ago.
If he released them when they were done, then there wouldn't be an episode every day, the episodes would obviously also take a longer time to be released. Editing takes a while too when the editing is as good as this.
13:44
actually, if the entire group is on battle, pressing X or Y in bro flower attack, it will actually launch higher to reach floating or flying enemies, so it does actually make it useful, as you cant fire to them otherwise (at least I belive thats how it worked, I dont exactly remember since its been a long time since I've played)
EVENTUALLY he will start making puns but it might take some TIME
For your next Partners in Time video, try saying "When last we left our heroes," at the start. It sounds epic, rather fitting for a game about time travel.
3:36 It's official guys, Chugga is the Mushroom Kingdom equivalent of Bill Gates.
Edited cuz I just realized that I basically insulted Chugga
Chuggaaconroy for president!
Anthony Ju disgusting
sonyvssnes Better than Hillary.
sonyvssnes remember Hillary
You're a terrible person, to level such an insult at our host.
The only thing that will happen is that Luigi will just sit there uselessly high on health while Mario has to carry the fights while trying desperately not to die after being 1-Up shroomed repeatedly.
my favorite Mario RPG of all times thanks for playing this walkthrough
That actually is a pretty important feature they have.
hey chugga how about for your intro you use the phrases "in the last video" and "in this video"
laurance haddad No leave his akward comments there
Piplup1704 as much as i love the chugga charm, the same joke kinda gets old after awhile. (unless jon is there to give him crap).
NO! "Last Period" is sooooo much better!!
Also "last episode" or "previously"
honestly did not expect to get a reply to this comment, much less over 5 likes
Omg that picture is so adorable. It looks like Mario and Luigi are telling there baby selves to stop dancing in the middle of the creepy forest.
Dude. Episode. Say episode.
I love the detail *walks for 10 seconds* AHH THAT TOAD IS STRAPPED TO A TREE
Cannonballer is definitely one of my favourite Bros. moves.
1 roulettes:
*Mayro:* 2
*Loogi:* 1
*Bab Mayro:* 0
*Bab Loogi:* 1
*Luggy
Really, I think ths trampoline which is a better cannon is the best item.
Alex Chuoy me too, but I was waiting for him to _get_ one, first. My top three is probably Trampolines, Ice Flowers, and Sun Flowers
Honestly, I prefer Cannonballer. When I played recently, I seemed to be just as effective.
WILLIAM PRICE sorry, haven't played this game in years, lol.
"Welcome back to more Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, in the last episode..."~What chuggaa should say(?)
I do hope you can bring forward other aspects you enjoy and your perspective, but as it stands with how I would score it is a 4 or 5/10
10:00 plus buying bros. attacks (or finding them) is like buying the syrups
