I honestly like the concept of an electric type Jump Kick. Electric is a type that has been starving for physical moves and Supercell Slam fits right into the idea of electric types being fast, hard hitters with an inherent risk. ..oh wait, Luxray has 70 base speed? but my point still stands, Supercell Slam is a decent addition to the arsenal of electric moves.
It just sucks that it's so much weaker than Hi Jump Kick but does the same amount of recoil. And also Ground types are way more common than Ghost types.
@@G1nSan3 How is that an excuse? That's literally the answer. All early route mons have low BST. That is how Pokemon is designed. It is done this way to balance the game's difficulty. You also have to factor in the fact that it evolves extremely early, mons that evolve early are also given low BST as well. We're lucky that Luxray is even as good as it is tbh.
@why3994 Yeah I always thought it was going to end up Electric/Dark from my first Pearl playthrough. Given that was the gen they introduced the proper Physical/Special split, it was frustrating that Thunderbolt was by far its best attacking move and Crunch got no STAB.
You know Haydunn, your channel not only showcases the new buffs of unexpected Pokémon really well, but your battles show the strategies of other trainer's very well, too. That Snorlax's Choice Band WAS an interesting choice
Honestly a couple of the best battles you’ve put out recently. Great reads across the board, really demonstrates so much game knowledge. The guts Luxray switch into will-o-wisp was pure dopamine straight to my brain
My Zapdos barely took out your Luxray last week it had me sweating. I'm literally making one right now! This thing is dirty people don't see it coming. Keep up the great work bro!
I love the commentary, “finish off the ol’ Xbox 360” 😂 The fact the infernape had terra fighting mach punch just made things more interesting and let you show off how the rest of the team synergizes with Luxray. He may be the hard-carry, but the rest of the team isn’t lacking.
Seeing that shiny Charizard in that trainer card hits me in the feels. I once hatched a shiny Charmander for my ex because Charizard is her favorite Pokemon, but I never got to gift it to her. At least I caught Meloetta on my birthday, though. Trauma dumping aside, great video.
Once I realized one of my fav electric/sinnoh mons got buff after buff, I totally revamped my shiny Luxray Miles! Then I see he got a Funko Pop now lol and a new anticipated Haydunn upload for Luxray! Nah even Trailblaze alone was just what it needed
i love seeing cryogonal on your team, i’d love to see a video about them (though i imagine.. it’d be difficult. that spdef and speed is kind of silly though)
Might be a cool idea to include the record you had with the specific pokemon highlighted in the vid. Gives a sense of relative utility. Idk maybe? Either way love the work keep it up! 🔥
Luxray is my favourite pokemon! Love seeing him in your videos. Wish they would make him a dark type that would be nice for an extra stab for the dark moves he learns.
Been watching you for years Haydunn and you never disappoint !! Its so boring seeing teams always composed of the same like dozen pokes. You do such an awesome job highlighting interesting strategies and lovable ‘mons that makes pokemon feel engaging.
Loved the video! While watching this, I was playing Brilliant Diamond and finally had my first encounter with a shiny in the grand in underground... Only to have it be a Gravler. Exploded on the third turn 😭
I love that he says supercell slam will do big damage if it hits. I've always thought of supercell slam as a move that always does big damage. The real question is, is that damage to foe or to self. 😅
The single greatest moment of my life was when I 2HKO Ice Rider Calyrex with a flame orb facade, after hitting tera-normal + scary face turn 1 on Pokemon Showdown, Gen 9, anything goes. :')
Every time i see scyzor or scyther use u-turn it makes me wonder how much better that move would have been if it was nerfed to 60 power for the technician boost
my first shiny was a shinx, I've used him a couple of times in competitive and while I've taken a couple of mons down with him it's not much (which i also suck at competitive,) seeing this I'm gonna have to change his moveset around
I wouldve loved luxray having like 80-90 base speed somexhere, and the dark typing as a secondary. Then it would be way better. Still not the best, but better
@@exeggutivejudge3747 But, like, is it just in the Rotom thing and I overlooked it or do I need to discover it first? I may have overlooked it because there are so many TMs to view.
They should just take 40 off of the sa and give it to speed, like c'mon. It looks like it should be fast or at least somewhat bulky to compensate for its current speed
@@Haydunn unfortunate for them, not for the Hayber, lol. That Unaware would have made it a monster against setup mons with the Cosmic Power boosts. Especially since all it did in this match with Magic Guard is avoid the Stealth Rock damage, lol. Guess it’s kinda situational
Trailblaze is like the new U-turn. Every pokemon seems to have access to it.
it solves so many mons speed issues
Its a worse flame charge. Weird how FC was replaced with trailblaze on some fire mons
Flame charge crying in the corner. Abysmal distribution for the OG.
@@jdrmanmusiqking hardly any pokemon that would want to use flame charge, learn it. Doesnt have a good move distribution, unlike trail blaze.

yep. "shadow ball" in pokemon is just a black&purple blob attack lol
The done-dirty kitty became a lion today.
Take my fucking like. You earned it today.
Done dirty dumplings
3:36 wow the shadow ball didn't cast a shadow or exist
I don't know what's worse, this or the invisible Kommo-o when using clangorous soul.
3:35 invisible shadow ball
Lmao I didn’t even notice that. That flutter mane was glitched af
All things considered, makes sense that a shadow ball is invisible XD
Haydunn feels a shiver run down his spine every time a Darkrai gets on the field.

more coverage for reckless/rockhead users as well who could use the buff
It just sucks that it's so much weaker than Hi Jump Kick but does the same amount of recoil. And also Ground types are way more common than Ghost types.
True, but I wish it was a High Jump Kick replica instead, since Electric Types actually need that power
Never understood why Luxray was so slow, like its an electric...cat.
Imo its SpA and Speed should be exchanged, so it gets 91 speed
@@yuriabreu5784 i thought the same
It's an early route mon, so it got nerfed the hardest.

I love that Haydunn's using Scizor

That Clefable died because instead of Unaware, it was Magic Guard. You can tell because it didn’t take Stealth Rock Dmg.
That glitch was crazy 😂

There should be a move called cinder scatter which is like toxic spikes but for burn.

Clefable didn't seem to take damage from stealth rock so probably magic guard
FINALLY Luxray is my favorite Pokémon was my first ever shiny in my first pokemon game so I’m so happy he has use :)
I'm still mad Raticate is not in this game. This could have been a Joint video.
Yes. Especially Alolan Raticate. I love that chunky boy. I remember having the Totem Version in gen 7 he was awesome.

Ahahahahahahahahaha!! What a crazy glitch! It DOES almost seem to have a message, if you zoom a bit you can almost make it out... 😂😂

14:36 But isn't it Magic Guard because it didn't take Stealth Rock damage either time it switched in?
That’s what magic guard does.
Eastcargot is an Elite name bro
Nice Guts Flame Orb Luxray is back from BW
shouldn't you use the poison orb because instead because burn reduces attack?
It negates the drop of attack, so it's used instead of poision to last longer, since poison does more each turn
I love Gen 4 and love Luxray too, Haydunn! AWESOME CONTENT!
Can Luxray’s Speed problem be alleviated by Sticky Web teams? Or not worth a try?
