I often find that women ask very nosy questions. On my first day at a new job, one woman asked me if I was single. Several women's head popped out of cubicles to see what I would say. It was hilarious. They were all 15-20 years older than I am, but they wanted to know.

The worst is when a company says they’re a “family” like y’all ain’t kin, I come here FOR MONEY, stop paying me or someone offers more money I’mma head out and “buy some smokes”

I'm gonna learn sign language as well. As well as The writing for blind people (I forgot how it's called, sorry.).
I also want to learn Spanish for better communication.
It's important to make yourself the best way to communicate with others.
English and Spanish are world languages, maybe you should learn French as well.
Also, Mandarin couldn't do damage. Every third human or so is a Chinese. (obviously not every Chinese speaks Mandarin...the People from Hong Kong speak Cantonese for example. But Mandarin is still most used)
      Sign language is important too.
      Blind writing probably too.
Also, I do write in the Davinci code bc I'm lefthanded. I rarely meet people who write in it too, but I wish that more people know it.

Once, I finally got noticed and was going to get a promotion. Then there was a change with corporate or something and my manager got switched out with someone else from a different store. She immediately found out about my disability, took my promotion from me and gave it to someone who did nothing but play on his phone all day and showed up late constantly. I was put on the register and not allowed to do anything in the store anymore. Just stand there and ring people up, because I was too stupid to do anything else. But, I also had to answer the phone despite the manager knowing I am deaf, then chewed me out when I couldn't hear what someone was saying on the phone. It sucks

I'm so sorry man, I hope you have the opportunity to be in a better work place soon. I have a lot of coworkers that my store has made accommodations for to make it good for them to work there, including at least one deaf employee. We have a few coworkers that know ASL so it's been nice, they're scheduled similarly so there's overlap for better communication.
Depending on where you live, it definitely changes job opportunity and how people "feel" about accommodations. This is just fucked up, I'm really sorry. I'm praying things will get better for you soon. Do you know if you have protective laws where you live?

    • @ellerj641
      @ellerj641 4 роки тому

@@MossTunic I honestly don't know too much about protective laws where I live. I did try to file a complaint against the store, but I was told that since it's a big business and not a small independent owned place, I cannot file a complaint against them. I walked out of the job and never went back. Had a few more crappy and so so jobs after. Right now I'm just doing a work study at my college. I barely make enough money to cover one bill, but for the first time I am trusted to work completely by myself and I can do what I what, when I want. This sudden trust and freedom has made me feel really good and my boss is great. Just wish there was more to do and more hours.

    My brother.
Worked under him in a kitchen.
Actually insane. Never takes his meds. Changed rules on a dime, in dozens of minute variations, to the point I had no idea what the 'right' way was to pack food/cut sandwiches/portion salads/ect. Once chewed me out for sweeping the floor wrong- when I said he'd told me to do it another way the time before. I was too slow. I should know this. I reminded him that he'd told me to do it a different way. He tells me to leave- he does not have the authority to do this -and I'd had enough so I left.
This, when he actually walked out on a very busy shift when he'd started working because he couldn't handle it (somehow he didn't get fired).
He also refused to allow my mother to visit his daughter when she was born. Told her she needed to ask permission. Mom had perviously moved heaven and earth to help out during the pregnancy.
So mom made the unforgiveable mistake of visiting the hospital without my brother or his wife. When mom tried to give them a lasagna to apologize he told her to not come over without asking permission. When dad tried to mediate, he forbade both my parents from contacting them using the phone...
His wife is just as bad- and a manipulator like you wouldn't belive. While this was going on she texted one of my sisters (who lives halfway across the country) to complain, and asked her to contact my mom on her behalf...we think she was trying to play us against each other....
Glad I got a new job and got out of there. Also glad they moved out of state.
Joke's on them, though. They wanted us to give them space- nobody in the family invites them to any holiday gatherings now and mom didn't offer to fly out to help with their second child (she did this with my other sisters).
    Fuck them.

I work in retail security. There was this one guy. He is 19 going on 20 but looks like he could be about 15. When he talks he always has this arrogant attitude, and he thinks he knows everything about everything. He was all buddy-buddy with the higher-ups which only fed his borderline personality because they let him get away with nearly everything.
A little context for this next part. To log our activities every shift, we radio in to dispatch to tell them what we did and dispatch logs these on a dedicated computer program. The number of calls per day ranges from 0 - 30 depending on the guard. This piece of work gets 120 easily. One day I was working dispatch, a post with many different responsibilities ranging from handling lost and found, to liaising with management, to handing out wheelchairs. He comes in at the end of his shift and starts complaining to me for over 1/2 hour because I had 123 of his calls logged when he recorded 126. Such moments were common with him, this was merely the most egregious I witnessed.
His cocky attitude, nit-picking over every little thing, and braggadocio meant that multiple people went after him with closed fists, myself included being the fifth. I got on a lot of people's good sides with footage of that moment.
Ultimately his attitude got the best of him when he lost his job due to him technically kidnapping a guy. The day after he cleaned out his locker a few of us got together and had a small pizza party. Good riddance to him.

I've got three contenders from my job at a drug store. 1: Guy claimed to be a former Marine, but gave details that implied he was lying about this (claimed to have trained in both California and Parris Island, and also claimed to have a training exercise at Mt. Fuji.) Had anger issues, would throw tantrums and refuse to do things he felt he shouldn't have to, nearly injured a coworker by pushing a stepladder around the stock room out of frustration. Was an extreme conservative Christian and hated homosexuals-when asked if he would be attending a nearby gay pride parade by a vendor, he said he'd only ever show up to an event like that with an AR-15 and would get more people than the guy at the Pulse. He got some pharmacy training as well, and liked to think of himself as more of a pharmacist than cashier, to the point where he ordered his own scrubs and wore them all shift despite 1: the pharmacy only being open during the last hour of his shift and 2: technically not even really being allowed to.

I'd joke that he taught me how to be a manager because when he was on shift, I had to be the manager in his place. He eventually got fired for stealing red bulls. I have one almost everywhere I've been. In multiple places It has been one of my supervisors, and the worst part is you can type cast them. They were all Asian Canadian women in my age range, no accent and a very common English name. They all behave the same as well. Whereas I've always believed it's a supervisors or managers job to make sure everyone has what they need to get their jobs done, these women have all believed their job is solely to find fault in everyone else's, no matter how small or insignificant.
The current most disliked person at my job is a woman who must be the centre of attention in any conversation. I have been warned to avoid speaking with her if I can. If she feels you're taking attention away from her, "suddenly" there's a complaint about you on the principal's desk the next day. She managed to make picking up the office garbages into my job with a complaint. I'm after-hours security, no one in their right mind would expect that to be my job, but she stretched her logic far for that one.
She's one of our school's counselors. My apologies to your children.

His name starts with K, I'm safe telling this as he doesn't watch UA-cam, he has anger issues and due to his longevity with the company the owner made him foreman/supervisor. He throws tantrums when he can't do simple things. He gets mad when I don't hear what he says while I'm using loud machinery. I'll admit that when I'm focused on my work everything else is drowned out and I don't focus on anything except the sound of my work (is the angle grinder running at the correct RPM, the torch whistling like it should, is the saw being given the right pressure[we do metal fabrication]). Well the other week he couldn't pick up I-beams with a sky-track (fork lift with 40 foot extendable boom), my other, very highly skilled, co worker offers to do it for him, K jumps off the sky-track obviously infuriated, highly skilled co worker jumps in and does it perfectly with ease. K starts yelling at me because I didn't grab the I-beam by hand and put it on the forks (they're 12" I-beams that are 25 feet long, we have machinery for that). K starts cussing at me. highly skilled co worker and I share a glance of "really, you asshole, you're mad about this". The whole problem arose out of K's lack of operational skills with the sky-track, but now it's being blamed on both I and highly skilled co worker. Later that day the owner of the company tells me I need to be more engaged with the work, I told him what happened and he said I'll have to deal with K's anger if I want keep my job, because K has been here for 6 years. After work highly skilled co worker comes to me and says (paraphrased) "hey man, I've been getting these offers to do high end fabrication jobs. I'm not happy that the owner gave K that position when I'm clearly more qualified for it. I see you working hard and if I take those jobs I'll need another guy, I want you to be that guy, we'll get paid ~$15,000 per unit and I think you and I can knock them out in three or four days if we get at it, and I'll give you 25% commission per unit and there's no end to these jobs as they're necessary for the oilfield"
tl:dr, asshole superintendent blames his mistakes in others, his only two co workers/employees are planning on leaving in the spring, which will leave the company with only the owner, supervisor, and another pretty useless worker who, altogether, will not be able to keep up with the work load and will probably have to go out of business. Meanwhile I'll be making ~$3,000 a week (I'm 24) to work very close to home in an AC/heated shop with an awesome co worker who I'll learn a lot from.

Closest to a hated person where I work is a mom/daughter duo. During Monday night (works night shift) through Thursday morning, there’s times she doesn’t finish the audit reports (I need those done so the system switches to morning the next day), doesn’t do everything involved with setting up the continental breakfast at 6 am (about about hour after the breakfast is to start, there’s still some items for the breakfast she hasn’t stocked on display and in general binges what she can on Netflix), hasn’t really improved her understanding of the computer system she works on.

I work at a veterinary hospital. The most disliked person is an older nurse who is constantly an hour or more late, misses a lot of shifts, and leaves randomly sometimes in the middle of the shift. This leaves the other nurses and her doctor rotation in the lurch. She also constantly thinks you don't know what you are doing, and tries to tell you. Once she tried telling me how to clean the floor with mop water. I worked retail before this job for like 5 years so, I'm actually pretty good at cleaning. I told her I was fine and of course did fine. My Manager got on her case several times for treating others like idiots, leaving suddenly and being mean.

an uncle of mine worked as a Mechanic before he retired.
The one dude everyone hated at his work was the one who would play jokes on the new hires for no reason besides self-amusement. Nobody found them funny besides him, yet he didn't realize that until he was confronted by the boss. Same guy would complain about how nobody wanted to help him unless they had no choice.
My Uncle and his friends knew very well that tricks/pranks/jokes breed nothing but spitefulness and sometimes even vindictiveness in otherwise good employees. Oh, and unlike a lot of people, he generally believed that adult bullying is just as unacceptable as childhood bullying.
Nothing screams "I'm an unprofessional dickhead" like pulling jokes on the co-workers that you barely know at their expense.

I worked with a weird older lady that was OBSESSED with the job, literally all she would ever talk about was our job, even when I tried to ask about her hobbies or weekend plans, she’d always connect it back to work. We were sales associates at freaking Sunglass Hut. She was always trying to steal my sales from under me. She was also genuinely racist and flipped out whenever a black person would come into the store. She was also super rude to customers and would kick people out if they looked like they weren’t going to buy anything.

From my last job, but a dumb short crybaby who's been working there for 16 years. She's in her 40s and acts like a toddler who can't control her emotions. She acts like she's in charge but can't handle the pressure of actual authority. She harasses and bullies other employees until they quit, but management just slaps her on the wrist and sends her on her way (the supervisor is her best friend). My worst time there was when I was promoted to supervise her. Managing that crazy lady was not worth the pay. I stepped down after a month or 2 of that, and left the job shortly after that.

Regarding the deaf guy: a large portion of the deaf community is in complete denial to the fact that they're different, insisting that everyone else has to change for them, rather than them making the effort to reach out to others. This guy may not have ever realized that he was supposed to act differently than he was taught, so there's a distinct possibility that he sat there so bitterly because he expected everyone else to go out of their way to learn ASL and include him, when he'd made no effort to show that he was interested in interacting with them. If they all thought he was an antisocial bastard, why would they take the time to try and speak to him? His coworkers may have thought that learning sign language would just give him a chance to swear at them.

It's called "empathy". I am currently studying to work with exceptional children and volunteer with many deaf people. I have never met a single deaf person who is in denial... they have usually lived lives of crushing isolation and massive frustration. They are also often language deprived, which impacts literally every part of cognition and emotional development. In terms of disabilities that effect development as a child, a deaf baby is considered MUCH HIGHER RISK than a blind baby. Learning some basic ASL to communicate with someone who has extremely limited ways to communicate otherwise, and has no ability to hear or understand social cues that the rest of us do, is really basic courtesy.

I’m a manager at a chipotle knockoff type restaurant. Recently we hired a new GM to replace our temporary GM. Our temp was awesome and really turned the store around in the last 6 or so months. New GM comes in and threatens to fire so many people I lost track. Yells at everyone for little set backs that are inevitable at a restaurant on a daily basis. In 3 years of working there I had never gotten written up once. I work hard and show up for every shift. She’s been here for a month and a half. So far she’s given cigs to a 16 year old, lied about the death of her mom to get a week off work, and has written me up twice for super small and petty reason. One was I was about 5 minutes late due to being stuck in traffic. The other was I forgot to wash the push buttons on the soda machine. This last week I got the flu and legally couldn’t come to work. I made sure to let her know I was sick as soon as I new I wouldn’t be able to work. The next day she threatened to fire me for not showing up. I plan on finding another job next semester. (I go to school at a university nearby) You can bet your ass I gonna call her out on everything she’s done on my last day there. It’s sad how power hungry some people can get.

I work at hospital as a housekeeper. One of the older guys on my team is just horrible. Everything he does is half assed. Like, he'll go clean a bathroom for instance and not wipe out the bottom of the soap dispenser- leaving behind soap and water. The reason none of us can't stand him though is because he's the biggest snitch in the whole building. He once ratted out a group of people for "sitting around" when they were all on break, then went and sat where they were sitting when he got the supervisor to make them leave. Icing on the cake, hes part of the safety committee.

Our boss pointed out it wasn’t her place to be the door monitor and that most of us worked, without putting in for extra pay, after the office closed and would frequently run into the office on weekends for a while so being a couple of minutes late was not a big deal. She was told to stop but refused to do so and just started berating her coworkers for being late which led to her being fired. What an idiot..she lost a great paying job with benefits and a very relaxed work environment because she had to be the self appointed hall monitor.

Don’t work there anymore, but the worst person I dealt with in my time at the local McDonald’s was some chick with a hippie ass name (let’s call her moonflower) Moonflower was an absolutely miserable human being, and everyone in and out of work knew it. She was constantly putting everyone down, wedging herself into undeserved authority positions, and worst of all, blaming me on all her errors, which got me a severe talking to and eventually fired. No one likes her, both in and out of work, and she may have been the most hated person in town. I’m convinced she was the ringleader of the older coworkers who were talking shit behind my back so bad that the boss fired me to spare my feelings and still didn’t have to come in (she’s an older lady but still physically fit)
At my new job across the street, there’s no one hated person as far as I can tell. The closest thing is our assistant manager, who constantly micromanaged us, but is otherwise a good guy.

She works the same shift as i do but the opposite end of the week. She sleeps, doesnt do any of the cleaning (literally 90% of our job), and leaves a huge mess after her shift. She has left one of our incontinent residents in a dirty diaper for her whole 12 hour shift. During the meetings she interrupts and acts like she does all the work.
Everybody has tried to get her fired but she has been working at this company for 7 years and after about 5 years of work the managment doesnt care what you do as long as you show up to work.
Also, the head of maintenance. He has been accused several times of sexual harrassment and assault. But nothing ever happens because hes married to the head of HR and nobody has enough proof to bring him to court. Whenever he is doing work in the house all the staff will record him so he doesnt do anything to them. The only proof we have of him doing anything is that one of the girls who quit after making the accusation ended up pregnant with his baby. But the head of HR destroyed the evidence of her accusation.
If he ever tries anything with me he wilI have the sudden realisation that i always carry pepper spray and a mini baton. Both will go straight up his ass.

Had this diva in the starring role of our dance/theater performance who was hated by the whole cast. I was picked to understudy her role, so I had to really grit my teeth while dealing with this harpy. She wouldn’t come to rehearsals, I would audition in her place, or she would typically use FaceTime to rehearse with us.
I knew her lines and cues better than she did, and performed better than her according to a critic who attended both hers and my performances on different nights, so she got angry and tried to have me fired. When that failed she tried to bully me into quitting, but she couldn’t. She failed to turn the cast against me, and quit when we posted copies of more critic reviews denouncing her on her dressing room door.
