This movie is based on a real story. Manoj Kumar Sharma is now a DIG, Deputy Inspector General far superior to DSP, Deputy Superintendent of Police which he wanted to become initially. He joined the service as SP, Superintendent of Police, who is senior to DSP, then DIG and now IG, Inspector General.
He was promoted to ig recently

Your Dad is right! The head of the Board was deliberately being mean to him during the second part of the interview. They do so in real life too when they think the candidate is too calm (when he/she is a repeater) or to try to get under the nerve (if they h've apprehensions abt candidates' background, like in this case). It's just a pressure creating technique in order to know more abt their thought process/personality.

In India, there are 4 tiers of police service.
1. Recruitment of constables and lowest, whose promotions are very slow.
2. Recruitment through staff selection, starts from sub assistant inspector, promotion is slow.
3. State service- starts at deputy superintendent of police, promotion is fast.
4. Union public service commission (UPSC) where Manoj is appearing, which is freaking super hard, out of nearly 2 million, only 180 will be selected for Indian police service, IPS starts at assistant superintendent of police and promotions are super fast, goes on to even have chance for INDIAN SECURITY COUNCIL and NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR. The Highest!.
Wish we had this sort of scrutiny in taking politicians

Qualifying for Oscars 2025, this will win best picture
I 100% Believe it shoult
Since it was released in 2023, it would have been eligible for 2024 Oscars which recently got concluded. So Oscars recognition is not an option anymore unfortunately. Lack of awards recognition doesn't make it any less of a movie (in my eyes anyway)
Poverty based indian movie- That's what gets you an Oscar nomination. It would be good if Indians realised it.
- Rrr movie sequence got it as Ukraine was the serup for the dance Naatu.
-Again The documentary elephant whisperers...poverty based. So, don't cherish these awards. For Hollywood, if you do a Jewish based movie, you will win it for sure.
@@CosmicCyberYTthere is still a chance. It released in October 2023 and set global theatrical release in October/November. The cut-off period for submission is September, therefore, 12th Fail qualifies for 2025 Oscars as well.
If this doesn't win I don't know what to say. I hope this movie shatters all records in china.
