+Morten Pedersen Different people have different opinions on what makes a good boss. Some like the boogieman you don't see until the end, some like the imposing one that taunts you constantly and gets you angry.
After starting NG+ I decided to spice the things up a little and go on the death march without changing the equipment from the end of the last playthrough. Everything seemed pretty manageable until Eredin fight. The dude is piss easy on anything except the death march. The one-shot mechanics after you've made a small mistake are just too brutal but I was able to pull through after roughly an hour of trying to beat his ass. Yen before the fight: Just don't get yourself killed. Me after getting killed 30 times: Well, shit.
Yeah dude, I am like -20 overpowered guards that were made to kill by the game= ez One stupid boss who is cake on every difficulty= don't. Even. Think. Bout. It.-
Same. I literally had barely been challenged with anything since Elden Ring but Eredin on death march with those one shots in the second half is a real pain. And if you get caught in one of those ice-bomb staggers, it’s hard to come back from. Not to say it wasn’t enjoyable in its own way. Elden Ring ruined me for other games.
which makes perfect sence one was a general the other was a eugenicsally manufactured magical beast of an elf that can teleport a whole god dam army no comparison there he would have beten geralt if not for ciri ( WHICH HE WAS ABLE TO DEFEAT) the end boss was not a real end boss geralt did not even sweat while fighting him and i think that makes the game realistic not everyone who leads is a strong fighter
Stonkish me i found him challenging also caranthir but thats cus i started directly with death march as my first time eredin was easy compared to those two
Thank god Caranthir took Geralt to the depth of the ocean rather than a mile up in the sky... Oh wait, for TW3 Geralt, I guess a fall from around 10 feet height would suffice... :p
I love how no one gives credit to the badass skelligee at 13:22, who basically saved Ciri at that moment. They made their ship into a fireship and just fucking rammed the wild hunt's ship too.
10:41 The cinematography in this game is fucking amazing. The eye-tracing is great, they pull your attention to the moving hand, just to reveal Geralt in the same spot in the frame, with the perfect music cue as well.
Caranthir could definitely take any of them, maybe even 2, but wouldn't stand a chance against all of them. Aen Elle sorcery is way ahead of human magic and Caranthir's their best warmage even.
The wild hunt itself was disappointing. At first I expected them to be some supernatural manifestation of war and frost, undead lich warriors of the white frost. But turns out they're just pissy elves.
Yet that's exactly what the people have been led to believe. That was their plan, to dress up in aesthetically menacing armor to scare mortals in the world of the Aen Seidhe. They are elves playing god, and they did a mighty fine job at it, so well to the point where they are imbedded into the folklore of common peasants.
@@finnianhunt5013 Imlerith never "beat the shit" out of Geralt who later smashed his head like a pancake. Vesemir was too busy trying to get Ciri to safety, and even for those few seconds he gave Imlerith his full attention, he knocked him on his ass and brushed him aside like nothing. Still though, these are two legendary witchers so it's expected. I do think Imlerith is still a total badass.
'sigh'... Eredin... WE GET IT!!! You are a freakin' elf. No need to take that mask off every 5 minutes to show your shifty elven face. It's just ruined your badassery and became really awkward......
Liberty Prime He is the freakin' king of the wild hunt! He has plenty of "magic" to solve such trivial matters. Also... isn't he supposed to be a specter in the first place?
22:09 This moment reminds me of those many times when Yen told Geralt “don’t get yourself killed” or “come back to me alive”. It appears Geralt’s death really hit her hard. And also, of course, CEMENTS my decision to let Geralt end up with her.
Is there anything more Skelligan than ramming the flagship of the dreaded Wild Hunt with your much smaller longboat while your boat is on fire and then taking the opportunity to board the Wild Hunt's ship.
I just realised that Avallac'h looking sad after Ciri mentioning she'd kill Caranthir is because Avallac'h was responsible for Caranthir's creation as "the golden child" Damn.
Anyone ever notice how Avallac'h twitches his mouth sometimes? I wonder if it's a quirk he's always had or if it's because of when his curse was lifted. It was pretty obvious that he suffered some bad neurological damage.
That kinda makes sense, though. Just because Eredin is the king doesn't mean he's a great fighter. He's much more of a backstabber/plotter (hence him murdering the previous king so he could take power). He leaves most of the fighting at Kaer Morhen to Imlerith and Caranthir, too, since they're better at it.
Caranthir in my opinion was the best fighter of the wild hunt. I love how he motioned for his men to back off, and let him fight eskel alone. I knew he would be tough to face.
I always thought Crach went down like a real badass. I mean, the Skelligans tell stories about the Wild Hunt. From Crach's point of view, he's dealing with a limitless army of undead supersoldiers, the ones that will bring about Raag na Rogh and destroy the world as we know it. And his response upon being mortally wounded is an attempt to split their king's skull open with an axe. That takes balls of Skelligan steel.
I love when the big Lich King looking bad guy pulls off his helmet to reveal he's a black eyeliner goth pretty boy. Always really keeps me thinking "Yeah, that's exactly what should be under that helmet." Not.
I, personally thought this was a great boss battle and the way Ederin had been build up as being a prick who taunts you through out the game was pretty neat
Tbh it was the easiest out of all 3 XD tho Eredin's fight is definitely second when it comes to difficulty, it took me like 3 trys to beat Caranthir so his is most difficult lol
A Potato eredin and ilmilrith were aids because they could teleport behind you mid roll and dodge. You could at least time ranged attacks easily with caranthir and just roll in for an attack
The amount of respect i have for skelligers is unreasonable specialy after the finale The honor , the masculinity pure badasses they are I felt like they just marched into battle for geralts and ciris sake even tho they dont have to and even if you end up doing none of the side quests they still show up compared to dijkistra where he will only give you some money after you made him KING
I just cannot help but feel sorry for nearly any man or woman that has been beaten and tries to reach out for their weapon as they're dying. Geralt kicking his sword away is so brutal, but naturally understandable.. he loathes Eredin with a passion. But even so, I still feel sorry for Eredin as he's dying, even if he's clearly not afraid of death.
Feeling sorry for his death, and feeling pity for him as he's DYING are two different things. I didn't sit there and feel sorry for him for much longer than how long the cutscene lasted. Geralt killing him was LONG overdue, the bastard was the reason Vesemir died.
To me, the definite boss fight of the game was Imlerith. When I fought him I was pretty much the same level that the quest asked you to be so it was tougher and took longer but also felt way more personal. I think I was like, what, level 34 when I fought Eredin and leveled to 35 after beating him. The ending didn't do nearly enough justice to the game after having played 112 hours on my first playthrough until finishing the story. I mean I got every major plotline go the way I wanted except for the Baron, got the "best" ending for Ciri and romanced Triss among other things but I still feel depressed after finishing the game lmao. Such an experience.
+Frodo Bolbo Not really. Imlerith is more pattern bound and especially slow and easy to dodge before he goes down to 20% Afterwards you just dodge and get your hit in when his mace gets stuck. Eredin uses a few fast sword combos that don't deal a lot of damage on lower difficulties, but rack up quickly on death march.
+Frodo Bolbo u are right about that........the last to wild hunt were too easy on death march, even though Imlerith was more pattern....if it hits u just once was half of your life right there....
Im pissed of cause CD Projekt Red rarely let us loot powerful bosses.Even the end boss..........They zoomed a little at Eredin's sword so many times.......
If the conjunction of the spheres is happening isn't the gate to the vampire world open? Guess the Unseen Elder doesn't need to wait another hundred or so years..
Anyone else notice that he just leaves Eridin there, he never deals the killing blow. Is Eredin dead from his wounds or could he show back up again? (Although I guess he couldn't leave with his ship in shambles and all the navigators killed).
Since Witcher 3 is the end of Geralt's story, I really hope that the future of the Witcher series of video games would focus on Ciri's story either as a prequel of Witcher 1 (before the scene of Geralt running away in the forest), an interquel (Ciri's side of the story during Witcher 1 and Witcher 2), or a direct sequel (the continuation of Ciri's story after Witcher 3, with Geralt appearing in a supportingg character role)
There is a lot more great storyline CDPR left out, like how Ciri saved Yennefer and Geralt, 5 years of running from the Wild Hunt, maybe when Dandelion and Geralt went fishing for some sardine and accidentally pick up a Djinn? Idk, you tell me. It's impossible to make another Witcher game about Ciri though.
They couldnt make this fight even remotely hard like they made every single boss in blood and wine? Blood and Wine could've been its own separate game, so much in it, so different than the main story.
I assumed the Wild Hunt were some Nazgul-esque undead wraiths, born of ancient dark magic, desperate to reclaim the Elder Blood to return to the land of the living. Not that they were an emo Swedish death metal band.
So Ciri enters a tower which has a portal to the Whit Frost in order to stop it from destroying all worlds, I’m surprised no one is getting a Dark Tower feel for this. Actually come to think of it, this game has a lot of similarity with that novel, a few examples are: A very powerful menace that seeks destruction by the name of Walter O’Dim(the Man in Black)=Gaunter O’Dim The previously mentioned similarity of the Tower Even the main characters names: Garelt of Rivia=Roland of Gilead, both apart of an elite group of warriors that were originated to keep the world safe from whatever threat there is. Plus I really do hope that CDProjektRed makes a Dark Tower game one day, I’d imagine it would be epic.
Anyone knows the music theme that starts at around 11:10?When the fight with Caranthir starts.I did check the "regular" Caranthir theme and its different then this one and the one going in this video is imo really nice.Really hope someone has an idea for the name of the theme used here

The one-shot mechanics after you've made a small mistake are just too brutal but I was able to pull through after roughly an hour of trying to beat his ass.
Yen before the fight: Just don't get yourself killed.
Me after getting killed 30 times: Well, shit.
Yeah dude, I am like -20 overpowered guards that were made to kill by the game= ez
One stupid boss who is cake on every difficulty= don't. Even. Think. Bout. It.-
Same
Everything was easy until Eredin fight
Took me about 3 hours to kill him
Same. I literally had barely been challenged with anything since Elden Ring but Eredin on death march with those one shots in the second half is a real pain. And if you get caught in one of those ice-bomb staggers, it’s hard to come back from. Not to say it wasn’t enjoyable in its own way. Elden Ring ruined me for other games.
eredin was a dissapointment caranthir was harder
which makes perfect sence one was a general the other was a eugenicsally manufactured magical beast of an elf that can teleport a whole god dam army no comparison there he would have beten geralt if not for ciri ( WHICH HE WAS ABLE TO DEFEAT) the end boss was not a real end boss geralt did not even sweat while fighting him and i think that makes the game realistic not everyone who leads is a strong fighter
Whisp3R Juni0r Imlerith was the most challenging boss in the vanilla game. On my second playthrough I beat him fairly easy though.
Stonkish me i found him challenging also caranthir but thats cus i started directly with death march as my first time eredin was easy compared to those two
i think imlerith was harder
Any Hearts of Stone boss was harder
"The vertical upwards strike! It's too obvious!"
O-Contexsial I also found it ironic that Geralt finishes Eredin with the move Vesemir gave him shit about
That wasn't a vertical strike though. He slashed horizontally across his neck. (Horizontal = Sideways).
No idea how people get this wrong.
When eredin killed crach...sounded gruesome
Imagine if after hearing the sound of a thud the camera turns and Crach has killed Eredin instead.
@@ameliakyle7054 lul
@@ameliakyle7054 geralt shows up after only to see crach turn around wearing eredins helmet
That's why the cameraman don't film it.
RIP Crach.
Would deffinetly wanna see Caranthir vs the Bitches of the Lodge lol
Apollyon HAHAHAHAHA Cracked me up when he said that
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDd
Should have been Yennefer vs Caranthir imo
Caranthir could definitely take any of them, maybe even 2, but wouldn't stand a chance against all of them.
Aen Elle sorcery is way ahead of human magic and Caranthir's their best warmage even.
The wild hunt itself was disappointing. At first I expected them to be some supernatural manifestation of war and frost, undead lich warriors of the white frost. But turns out they're just pissy elves.
Definitely agree
They are the most bad ass elves... Not the gay versions every other franchise tries to sell us off
Yet that's exactly what the people have been led to believe. That was their plan, to dress up in aesthetically menacing armor to scare mortals in the world of the Aen Seidhe. They are elves playing god, and they did a mighty fine job at it, so well to the point where they are imbedded into the folklore of common peasants.
@Irish Rover where did you learn that in TW1?
Naru Yeah wear a full helmet and try to breath, more so with that stupid skull design.
Liberty Prime
He is the freakin' king of the wild hunt! He has plenty of "magic" to solve such trivial matters. Also... isn't he supposed to be a specter in the first place?
Naru The Wild hunt are elves from another dimension with the power to teleport and conquer other dimensions. But they are still elves.
Liberty Prime
Still ruined all the build up hype with his habit of showing his eeeevul elf face... -.-
+Naru You really hate elves huh?
22:09 This moment reminds me of those many times when Yen told Geralt “don’t get yourself killed” or “come back to me alive”. It appears Geralt’s death really hit her hard. And also, of course, CEMENTS my decision to let Geralt end up with her.
Is there anything more Skelligan than ramming the flagship of the dreaded Wild Hunt with your much smaller longboat while your boat is on fire and then taking the opportunity to board the Wild Hunt's ship.
I just realised that Avallac'h looking sad after Ciri mentioning she'd kill Caranthir is because Avallac'h was responsible for Caranthir's creation as "the golden child"
Damn.
9:04 I think Caranthir has some personal problem with the lodge 🤣
Anyone ever notice how Avallac'h twitches his mouth sometimes? I wonder if it's a quirk he's always had or if it's because of when his curse was lifted. It was pretty obvious that he suffered some bad neurological damage.
You should've looked into the sky during the final bit, you see Earth
24:04 Yen on fire :D
Aint nothing stopping her.
Lolololol
damn she is really hot!!

In the german version I thought he was going to start singing.
I'm german myself, but damn is that a bad synchro... I know why I try to play games in their original language if possible...
I feel as though both Imlerith and Caranthir were better fighters than Eredin.
@@DariusOfPersia but didn't the king want to fire eredin for being too much of a bloodthirsty bastard?
@@Thomas-fk3xl One can be bloodthirsty without being a good fighter, though.
@@DariusOfPersia But Eredin *was* a good fighter, just not as good a fighter. And his skill is sound, he can parry and barrage you with sword strikes
@@mihneaiordan1813 I never said he wasn't a good fighter. Imlerith and Caranthir were better, though.
Gotta love the voice changer device at hunt's helmet
Oh nice one yen didnt had time to loot that dude...
Ciri's like "A Discount on Eredin's army! Everything's half off!"
Caranthir in my opinion was the best fighter of the wild hunt. I love how he motioned for his men to back off, and let him fight eskel alone. I knew he would be tough to face.
they should have given crach a better death
True, i wanted the option to cut Eredins guts out like he did Crach.
+CHESTER9871 i think stabbing his eye out and then stabbing him again was fitting lol. but seriously nobody mentions crach
True except eredin killed him in like 3 seconds. I wish crach had put up more of a fight
Exactly, something, you know, more heroic and epic, maybe a couple of sword to battle ax clashes and then he dies.
I love when the big Lich King looking bad guy pulls off his helmet to reveal he's a black eyeliner goth pretty boy. Always really keeps me thinking "Yeah, that's exactly what should be under that helmet."
Not.
What?
He reveals himself before that battle, so I suppose this is the first time you see him
Bell Idrael Reminds me of Kylo Ren
Bell Idrael True
Arthas was literally the same thing underneath his helmet tho
I, personally thought this was a great boss battle and the way Ederin had been build up as being a prick who taunts you through out the game was pretty neat
Also, I love Eredin's voice without his mask, sounds epic
When i ''fighted'' Caranthir , he was bugged , he wasnt moving , i was just hitting him and after some hits he died , lol
Lol I had the same bug with Caranthir...

Earth shaking, sky raining fire, portals spewing forth monsters.

The fight with Emlireth (don't know how to spell his name) was WAY better.
It was supposed to be I think.
Tbh it was the easiest out of all 3 XD tho Eredin's fight is definitely second when it comes to difficulty, it took me like 3 trys to beat Caranthir so his is most difficult lol
A Potato I disagree it took me 2 tries against caranthir on death march
A Potato eredin and ilmilrith were aids because they could teleport behind you mid roll and dodge. You could at least time ranged attacks easily with caranthir and just roll in for an attack
@@bibichee003 to me it took me one

This game stands up to anything made today.2020.
The amount of respect i have for skelligers is unreasonable specialy after the finale
The honor , the masculinity pure badasses they are
I felt like they just marched into battle for geralts and ciris sake even tho they dont have to and even if you end up doing none of the side quests they still show up compared to dijkistra where he will only give you some money after you made him KING
Skelligers just built different
Absolute best game ever. Poured over 100 hours into it and I just got it for Christmas this year
I remember trying to knock Eredin off that cliff so many times
I like the wolf growl that was there when you slashed Eredin
10:35 : I've never had such goose bumps
I still like how Geralt stabs out Eredin's eye with the same move that he taught Ciri, the one she killed Bonhart with.
Eredin : Witcher. Iwas hoping you’d come
Geralt : Because
Eredin : I’ve something to tell you. But I’ll do so afterwards.......
AS YOU EXPIRE
I just cannot help but feel sorry for nearly any man or woman that has been beaten and tries to reach out for their weapon as they're dying. Geralt kicking his sword away is so brutal, but naturally understandable.. he loathes Eredin with a passion. But even so, I still feel sorry for Eredin as he's dying, even if he's clearly not afraid of death.
+Catonzo Are you kidding? Eredin is a strong heartless elf..why the fuck would you feel bad for a guy who destroys worlds
112 hours? I finished it in 70 hours, even though I did all the Witcher Contracts, secondary quests and a little of the Hearts of Stone dlc quests
Fighting caranthir with ciri was so much easyier than with geralt
in my game after Ciri hurt Caranthir he glitched and never attacked or even move during Geralt's fight.
@@alexreznov45 same, but i reloaded the last save and i could fight caranthir
is it weird that on deathmarch i found imlerith easy and Eredin very hard?
+Frodo Bolbo Not really. Imlerith is more pattern bound and especially slow and easy to dodge before he goes down to 20% Afterwards you just dodge and get your hit in when his mace gets stuck. Eredin uses a few fast sword combos that don't deal a lot of damage on lower difficulties, but rack up quickly on death march.
+Frodo Bolbo u are right about that........the last to wild hunt were too easy on death march, even though Imlerith was more pattern....if it hits u just once was half of your life right there....
Jo Reynoso it so easy not getting hit by imlerith, Eredin on the other hand...
+Frodo Bolbo You can parry Eredin's sword strikes though
Eredin was pissin me off on deathmarch but after four trys & a lot of snacks I got his ass lol
It would be better if you could loot Eredin and get something very powerful or the best in the main game.Such a shame you can't
Im pissed of cause CD Projekt Red rarely let us loot powerful bosses.Even the end boss..........They zoomed a little at Eredin's sword so many times.......
@@makaveli4652 you get his silver sword
If the conjunction of the spheres is happening isn't the gate to the vampire world open? Guess the Unseen Elder doesn't need to wait another hundred or so years..
I just did this fight in New Game + on Death March, he was able to kill me with 2-3 hits. That was tough as hell...
+McDoofKnecht wow
thats the point ;) we "the witcher" gamers love challenges such as this
Anyone else notice that he just leaves Eridin there, he never deals the killing blow. Is Eredin dead from his wounds or could he show back up again? (Although I guess he couldn't leave with his ship in shambles and all the navigators killed).
He cut into his throat, wouldve hit his artery since Geralt is an expert of anatomy and where to strike.
10:47 was the most badass moment
Wine cup on the table at 1:38 is the best feature of the game.
heh
The best part of this was the full balls in move by the Skelligeans to ram Eredins ship.
+kurzor0007 Impossible.
If you read the books you'd see that it would be basically impossible to make a game on ciris story before the events of the witcher 3
@@AmeRain Why's that?
There is a lot more great storyline CDPR left out, like how Ciri saved Yennefer and Geralt, 5 years of running from the Wild Hunt, maybe when Dandelion and Geralt went fishing for some sardine and accidentally pick up a Djinn? Idk, you tell me. It's impossible to make another Witcher game about Ciri though.
its inpossble Ciri dies in this game if you get the bad ending
Is that a mistake in the cutscene or why does Eredin have a second sword on his belt?
Eredin has flesh and he bleeds. Well thats a mighty letdown for an immortal god
+RolandAxforde Not a god.
Just an ordinary elf then? :O
+RolandAxforde Yep, just a ripped elf. Nothing more, nothing less.
4:02 is that a bug on the right? The cup is floating.... Or maybe it's a box art.. If it is a box art, it looks realistic....
hah, gotta be a bug
the boss fighting is epic
They couldnt make this fight even remotely hard like they made every single boss in blood and wine?
Blood and Wine could've been its own separate game, so much in it, so different than the main story.
Imagine if when the camera turned Crach killed Eredin
Or do u mean when Eredin killed Crach?
You said you have something to tell me
-Yes! Gwent ???
Geralt nods
I have defeated Eredin without taking any damage. Eredin was the easiest boss of the whole game.
I assumed the Wild Hunt were some Nazgul-esque undead wraiths, born of ancient dark magic, desperate to reclaim the Elder Blood to return to the land of the living. Not that they were an emo Swedish death metal band.
I love how Ciri just shoves that confused soldier out of the way. XD
All Wild Hunt creatures here were found extremly vulnerable to exploding bolts...
So Ciri enters a tower which has a portal to the Whit Frost in order to stop it from destroying all worlds, I’m surprised no one is getting a Dark Tower feel for this.
Actually come to think of it, this game has a lot of similarity with that novel, a few examples are:
A very powerful menace that seeks destruction by the name of Walter O’Dim(the Man in Black)=Gaunter O’Dim
The previously mentioned similarity of the Tower
Even the main characters names: Garelt of Rivia=Roland of Gilead, both apart of an elite group of warriors that were originated to keep the world safe from whatever threat there is.
Plus I really do hope that CDProjektRed makes a Dark Tower game one day, I’d imagine it would be epic.
Yen : Let me summon a barrier against the frost!
Gerald : Health ... low ... need ham sandwich ...
I laughed at this way more than I should have :D
Eredin is like picnic compared to Detlaff
Anyone knows the music theme that starts at around 11:10?When the fight with Caranthir starts.I did check the "regular" Caranthir theme and its different then this one and the one going in this video is imo really nice.Really hope someone has an idea for the name of the theme used here
Hail to Caranthir
I literally have more problems killing drowners at level 4 than killing Eredin on deathmarch lol definitely something that needs to be addressed on next gen if they remaster
