Charaykee Shilla The end after the main quest plays in a limbo right before the event of the final battle so u get somewhat into a flashback storywise and end up in a sandbox where u can play your dlc and sidequests
What's worse is Geralt is level 31 and those drowners and ghouls are like level 5-6. Meaning he had to suffer before dying from those 11 damage attacks.
Actually if witchers are dealt great pain when not in combat with no adrenalin or sth like that they die pretty fast due to their mutated neurological system (i know its just a joke)
I heard there was a good, best, and bad ending. I unironically thought I got 'good' ending because I did most things 'right' but got the Baron killed, so the world would be saved but Ciri would die. When Geralt got the Sword I genuinely thought Ciri was dead. All the way until I walked into that door, then I saw her sitting there and realized I actually got best ending and I was hyped.
Theres a chapter in the books where you find out he fake killed a werewolf and helped him escape to another town where he met his wife who was also a werewolf and they had kids, that entire family is devoted to him, especially papa werewolf.
People say they replay witcher 3 to try out different endings..I honestly go for the same goddamn path everytime because the others are just too painful. Edit: wow wtf lol 4.6k likes lmao
Literally me, I just can't do the other endings besides the one I like, hell I can't even change the love interest in playtroughs, this proves the TONS of emotional weight this game has
The only main ending I want is the "Ciri becomes a witcher" ending. All the minor endings I can live with (except I prefer to get the Triss romance ending for... reasons)
In my first playthough, she became the Empress and I ended up with Triss. After reading the books, had to play it again to make Geralt end up with Yen, although I do not like her, Geralt does. And so became Ciri a Witcher this time.
The fact that her last thoughts are of Geralt hurting her feelings is so impossibly sad. It's worse than the death itself. She died to save a world she felt unloved in, thinking everyone in her life just used her for power and coin
@@JoseMora-wc5zz I thought I got a bad ending at first, then realized I got one that seemed to fit me perfectly, Was the ending that Geralt teachers Ciri on the road and then they part ways eventually, don't know if it's the best, but it's definitely the best for me.
@@alexfernandez882 that's the ending I got and it's the best for me. I've watched the other endings and, while some aren't entirely bad, they just don't fit me specifically. And as silly as this may sound, when I play RPGs I put myself in my characters position and make the decisions I believe I'd make If I were in that situation.
@@RetrogamingCostello13342 yeah, you're right, for example I really liked the character of Roche and killed Djikstra for him, what you are saying is right... but anyone who got this ending following that should maybe see a psychiatrist
Skateboarding Nation i ended like this the first time then i learned there are more than 20 other endings and somehow i managed to get the worst .. . . Maybe cause i wanted to roll the end credits first dunno. .. . .
Marin Topulli well there are 3 big endings with the faith of ciri and ya like you said 20 other ones that change the world depending on what quest you do/dont do and what you decide to do one those quest
I think the baron and his wife dying is a better ending. You save the children. You save children that will be sacrificed in the future. The villagers were lunatics anyway. The baron and anna weren't that good either. They kinda deserved eachother. Really had no sympathy for them. Also the daughter joining the eternal flame... I really hated her.
I got this ending while trying to make Ciri the empress. I worked with the emperor and believed I did everything right. But looking back on it I failed. I always told Ciri what to do, always held her hand and led her the way I wanted. It was always about what I wanted. Because of this she did not believe in herself, I had planted doubts in her mind which resulted in her not coming back from the storm. And I keep thinking back to our last moment. I didn't want her to risk her life stopping the storm, it was the crown I wanted for her, and as she chooses to go I am speechless and say nothing. I wanted to wish her luck, but I couldn't find the words thus I stood there in silence. I played with the feelings of Triss and Yen... and drove them both away. All I have are regrets and sadness as I walk the decaying castle of Kaer Morhen. I think about Ciri, Vesimir, the decline on the witchers. Everyone I cared for is gone, driven away and I am all alone. I never wanted it to end like this, yet it did. This playthrough has been an eye-opening experience. I was very immersed in the story and the outcome was a perfect example that actions have consequenses. Allthough I meant well, I failed to realise what was most important. My egoistic way of thinking lead me to this ending. A beatiful and heart-wrenching experience and the best RPG I've played to this date.
Finished the DLCs and ended up with Yen at Corvo Vineyard estate, and Ciri was alive on her path as a Witcher, all on my first play through! Awesome game but now I'm taking a break on some Assassins Creed before I NG+
The release of Blood and Wine makes this ending the only one we can rule out as non-canon (if we assume Geralt actually let himself get killed by ghouls and nekkers, which I don't). But that's the beauty of TW3. Every one of us has their own Geralt. My Geralt is chilling with his lovely Yenn at Corvo Bianco, drinking the finest wine Touissant has to offer, while their daughter enjoys her life on The Path.
And when Ciri is running from the wild hunt, the little girl says that not even his dad would be capable of doing what she have done, in the part that she fought the wolves. And she straight answer: "My father could do much more".
I will post what I saw somewhere that pretty much describes the werewolf/Geralt situation at the end: It is a metaphor for Geralt but it goes a little bit deeper than that. The fact that he finds himself in the company of a werewolf suggests that Geralt has come to realize that he has more in common with the monsters that he has sworn to destroy than the humans he has sworn to protect. The trapped Wolf symbolizes Geralt himself, ensnared and ultimately slain by those he holds dear. The words spoken by the werewolf, "I used to dream wolf dreams, now I dream hunger, pain, and blood," shows Geralt's downward decline after failing to save Ciri. The man's words also show Geralt's emotional fall: "She's ragin', knows she's as good as dead but has yet to accept it." Geralt sees himself in the Wolf and that is why he strikes the man, as if to prove to himself that he's not as dead as he feels inside. He kills ten men to try to end his suffering, as if slaughter is the only thing that he knows. The werewolf tries to make him consider the cub, the monster expressing more morality than the man, but Geralt is bent on vengeance. All he can do is kill. During the fight against the crone, Geralt tries to tell the werewolf to back away and not interfere because he hates the idea that he has common cause with one of his enemies. It forces him to realize even further what a monster he has become. It is truly a very harsh ending for a character (and the player who played him) who tried to make the right choices and failed doing the only thing that really mattered, which was making Ciri believe in herself. In the end, the wolf shows more humanity in his anxiety over the wolf cubs than Geralt show for the men he slays. He is one part monster, and one part man, but doesn't belong among either. The only real victory exists in his acquiring of Ciri's pendant but it doesn't grant him the cathartic release that he requires, as evidenced by his final collapse into agony, head in hands, mourning the only daughter that he'll ever know...
[Crone dies] ... Game: Do you want the good news first or the bad news? Player: I'll take the good news first. Game: You hit level 31 and you have two ability points to spend! Player: That's great! What's the bad news? Game: Um ...
@@xLetalis I've an alternative theory. I highly doubt that geralt let himself die here, he's probably unplayable since he very clearly lacked a will to live and probably chose to not care about touissaint or olgierd's problems. I'd like to hope he stayed with tried or yennefer but that's unlikely
@Vault Boy 76 It'd be edgy if he didn't really mean it. But a man losing his daughter can legitimately do that to a person. It's pathetic, but it's all too human, which is what makes it brilliant.
+Brad Torville But it's sooo good! i mean i hate that Ciri dies, and he's surrounded... But that feel... I think this is the best "Die" ending you can get in most(all) video games.
I can understand how some people feel that this ending fits the witcher world better but nah, f this. Too painful, and Geralt has been through a lot of pain already. The man deserves a better ending.
Fuck geralt hes not real, I deserved a better ending. I put so much time into the game to have this ending decided by 5 things I didnt realize held this much weight
@@Versace_sheets wdym? Is not your story for you to get a better ending, even though you thought those decisions wouldn't make a difference you still didn't connect with the other characters to think in them rather than yourself. Goty deserved
@@Versace_sheets well clearly you weren't invested in the characters and you didn't make the right choices, accept it because this ending may be the worst but its really well done
Wow, I seriously didn't know the endings could differ this much, I'm kind of impressed. I got the ending when Ciri became a witcher, and Geralt and Yen became a couple.
It's very easy to get that ending if you didn't complete the missions that help you kill Radovids, because if Radovids & Djikstra don't die then Niflguard loses the war & Ciri's father loses his position as king and is killed by rebels. Since there is no Nilfguard kingdom to rule Ciri has no option but to become a witcher. If you help Nilfguard win the war then the only way Ciri still can be a Witcher instead of Empress is if you don't take her to meet her father.
James Sarvan if you want a black Roach in the game the only way to get 1 is either by going to meet Ciri's father and refusing the coin or playing heart of stone and in the end letting o'dimm kill olgreid and choosing the demonic saddle as a reward for helping O'Dimm. Whenever you where the demonic saddle Roach gets one demon eye and he turns from brown to pitch black colour
My ending was good all around, Ciri became "King" or queen taking over her fathers throne. Yen and Geralt stayed together.Geralt just rode off into the sunset to begin my Heart and Stone play through.
@@IntensePeppersbecause you really haven't seen Geralt with this much emotion before in the game. He was always emotionless because of being a witcher
Wow. That’s the only time I’ve seen Geralt get emotional and panicked - as he sweeps the shelves clear, and hurriedly tries to open the chest - and man does it hit hard. Everything, from that little detail of him only now calling her his ‘daughter’, is painfully beautiful here. Fathers, train your children to be strong - knowing they’re loved, and able to receive help when they need it, absolutely - but also confident in the knowledge that they’ve got what it takes. In my opinion, this is why Geralt needs to step back a little and let Ciri make her own decisions. We need to know we have what it takes. Personally, I love what CDPR did with choices and how they impact Ciri’s fate. Moves me to be better. Don’t know what great art is, if not that.
I believe witchers are not devoid of emotin but instead hae surpressed it. Emotions tend to cloud judgement and when facing difficult tasks thye must think quick and logically in able to finish the quest. The trials made them go through rigorous mental training as well. They were far suited to control and surpress emotions but not to be devoid of it.
@@markancheta2210 Its also the mutagens that suppress their emotions or make them emotion-less. So to see Geralt in this state, this was an overwhelming pain for him
@Seth Throndsen depends on what you mean with ruthless. Ciri has a "points" system on her. She starts at 0 points, certain actions give points or take some away. Having a snowball fight for example adds a point, refusing that takes one away. For Ciri to live she must be on 0 points or higher. Any negative number means she dies.
@Seth Throndsen to get the Ciri "Alive" ending, you either let her became a witcher or became an empress but choices throughout the game will affect ciri's ending, at 2:21 flashbacks were the "MAJOR" key points, first - after the Kaer Morhen battle, don't invite her to drink, instead select the other option where you get to play snowball fight with her, then don't take her to/or take her to Emhyr ( this will determine if she became a Witcher/Empress ), third is let her speak alone with the Sorceress of Lodge, fourth is "Go for it" option in Avallach's labaratory and lastly Visit Skjall's grave with her, -- These are all the positive points Ciri has throughout the Game, she will later became an Empress/Witcher. do the other option and she will die.
We can't all master the game. I died a lot too on my 3rd playthrough on Death March. Not all of us can flawlessly parry every sword swing or dodge every monster attack(especially when all you want is to power up the Lady of the Lake's sword)
She is dead in every ending, because she couldnt do a shit against the White Frost, her Elder Blood gene was created only to make a huge portal to evacuate Aen Elle from their world, thats it. As much as I like the W3 game, this endings are just a piece of bullshit and nothing more.
I actually cried when I got this ending, It was the first time I ever beat the game and it was heartbreaking to see geralt crying as he held ciri’s medallion to his forehead as he was being swarmed by monsters but the part that had gotten me the most upset and emotional was that he did not even fight back I did not even understand at first what I did to make this ending happen
I just finished the game for the first time(just need to finish the other two expansion stories) and seeing this ending really hurt. 😭 I didn't physically cry, but I did internally.
This was the ending I got the first time I played the game. A part of me died.... i can still feel the hole it left. I played again though to get the good one... but still the hole is left.
You are wrong. And by that I mean why you choose to not buy them. The reason you felt that way is because of how they (CDPR) managed to convey the story (in gameplay, graphics, voice acting, game polish ETC. But most of all - Story) Which in game and book is done extraordinarily well. In few words, you cared about them. I have completed Hearth of Stone, and am now playing Blood and Wine - I can HIGHLY recommend both. Do yourself the favour.
U mean endless. The last sister said a endless amount of monsters will appear and geralt could not handle it, or he didn't even try to defend himself because of his depression
The ending with ciri is such a strong analogy to parenthood. To love your children but not to the point you imprison them. As Vesemir told ciri in his last moment, "Now fly!" Just like a little bird finally taking flight from its parents' nest. Zireael... Swallow.... 🕊️
Anyone else get sorta teary eyed throughout this game? Certain moments really get me... For sure when Geralt finds Ciri's lifeless body, and holds her up... The first time I played that scene hit me right in the feels.
The game tricks you in a way in my ending, where he tells the emperor that Ciri is dead. She makes no appearance in the tower and does a pretty good job of making you feel that she's dead. She ends up alive, though I cried throughout that entire scene. Couldn't even sleep the night I played and Vesimir died. The characters all felt so lifelike to me, and it made it all the more emotional. I can't imagine what you went through, though.
John Oswald I love the stories, and with games becoming more and more realistic, and graphically rich in their characters and environments... it's like these stories just come to life. I love RPGs because you get to mold the characters and the story to your liking but sometimes you get curve balls like we've seen in Witcher 3 that really tug at your heart strings...
i understand that you kinda like and feel impressed by the ending so that you deemed it "badass" but to me the word "badass" shouldn't be used in this case, it's more like "dramatic" to me and "tragic" is also fit.
There's a quest with Ciri to go to the Giant Tree, south east of Velen (After the swamp area) You go to kill one of the Wild Hunt members (can't remember his name) And there's part of that quest where both you and Ciri fight all 3 crones
I got the ending where he lies that she's dead and she becomes a witcher. But I started crying when I thought she was dead. I was so shocked because I thought I made such good decisions - but then I was so relieved and glad it was the ending I got.
Although this is the worst ending, for me, personally, it is the most satisfying. Since I first met the Crones that I wanted to shove my sword in their face. Nevertheless, the fact that Ciri doesn't come back and how badly it damaged Geralt is heartwrenching. You know its a good game when it spikes true emotion in you.
i cried at the positive ending i went to the emperror and i told him ciri is dead and i believed she was dead when he told him i started crying so bad then when i went at the bar in velen i saw her alive and it was all a trick ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME GAMEEEEEEEEEE?
I will pretend Geralt has a bad dream before going to kaer morhen, then I'll reload the save file before battle of kaer morhen. And Geralt will learn from that dream to change the future ! >:)
+Sami S I DID THAT HAHAHAH, this was my first ending, then I pretend that it was a dream, then I did the reload on the ''elder blood kid'' mission, and did it the right way, was the best experience for me
+Sami S Same thing i did xD. I was so shocked about this ending that i started immedately back from the isle of mists. And checked everything so i wont fuck it up again. I'm like nope! I won't let it end like this.
GOON do hearts of stone first, then blood and wine! Both are excellent. But wrap up everything in velen and skellige that you want to do before doing blood and wine!
Then do blood and wine! It's really good and on top of that and will give Geralt some epic upgrades for NG+ like mutations and grandmaster gear. Did I mention it's just an excellent piece of DLC not worth skipping?
My feelings about the Ending Here I am, devastated, the only word I can describe how tragic and bitter this ending left me. Seeing a man with nothing left, and nothing inside. He had done so much, good and bad, in this unforgiving world. He figured he would do good when he could, but it turns out that his choices weren’t black and white and they hurt the one he cared and loved the most. What hurts more than seeing this very strong man, let himself get executed by the same creatures he hunted, was that it was all his fault. Maybe if he had done something different things would have changed. The only thing he could do now is to gather the last memento of his fallen family. He had done so much for the very same people who would turn their back on him. He wasn’t either a human, or a creature. The only ones he could turn to are a dying species, all the rest killed by the very same people they helped protect. He didn’t want the same for her, she was the only thing he had left, and his feeling or lack thereof was what made it certain she was gone. In the end, no witcher dies in his bed. Now for my personal feelings about the matter. I spent a lot of time completing this game and I always strived to immerse myself. I figure Geralt was a mercenary and his main objective aside from his family would be his work, and no one better there was. Barely any gratitude for him risking his neck, but it was what he was best at. Underneath the veil of toughness and his nonchalant attitude, one of a hardened veteran, there was a veil of good intentions and kindness. At least I figure that is who he was based on the story around me, and I made choices accordingly. The dialogue was so extraordinary I actually did feel immersion and laugh at the wit and quip of the characters and world he interacted with. He had fought for those who couldn’t defend themselves and those of vast innocence as he judged the world not by appearances, race, or status but by their actions. When he finally found Ciri, he ( me ) could not stand to lose what was the only thing that gave me hope in such an unforgiving world. I swore I would always be by her side and help her whenever I could, I would remind her that she had a gift like no other, I did try to encourage her own actions and I agreed she could do her own thing. But I made the mistake of overprotecting her in the important crucial moments. Those that Ciri looked back on and did not let her grow, thus she didn’t believe in herself. That’s exactly what hit me the hardest, even after all Geralt ( I ) did and had thought was the right decisions, they left me with nothing but suffering. In the end, It was all for nothing, whether Geralt tried to be a better person, kill kings or creatures, ask for money or humility, love someone simple or someone complicated. Ciri saved the world but what did Geralt do? He was just a Witcher. With all that said, I would be lying if it didn’t leave me depressed in some way. Few games have if any have left me in this state of emotions, and for that, I applaud the Witcher III and the Polish developers, for creating a media that stand above their peers in dialogue and world-building. I thank them for putting so much effort into their game and all the details (lots which will go unappreciated) they decided to implement. This game opened up a passion for the high fantasy lore (dragons, medieval times, etc) I did not know I needed. I won’t have as much time to indulge in replaying it, and while I wish I could have gotten a less bitter ending, I know it would have not impacted me as much. Thank you CD Projekt Red.
I only hope that now that they have their huge audience, like Bethesda gained with their first couple games, that they do not make concessions to the Left when they make their next game. I have a less than 50% hope that they ever do justice to furthering this IP tho...it isn't 2010, when they started development of this game, it is 2023, and forces just as evil as anything in this game are at work to destroy anything like this to ever be able to be made again. The Witcher on Netflix is probably a foreshadowing of what is to come...I hope I am wrong bc this isn't an American developer, but the hooks of the Left reach across the oceans, and infect everything just as The White Frost destroys worlds...
AnonymMC because its not like you can just reload from before the final battle, change a few things, and then get a different ending. YOur ending is determined before the battle even starts. Its based off of decisions you made throughout the entire game, especially after you rescue Ciri
+Joshcoshbagosh that's the whole point, your choices actually matter you can't just make poor decisions the whole game and then have an option to redeem urself at the end. that's a cop out and I'm glad Witcher didn't do that
Agreed, in a way, 'better' then the good ending (in my opinion), cant really explain why, probably because it felt more extended, deeper, than the good ending. You also see geralt in some kind of depression/mental breakdown, mental states that do not often occur with geralt.
should I tell why?because you just go like WHAT DA FUCK MAN?WHY DID ALL THEM MONSTERS COME?WHAT'S GERALT DOING JUST SITTING LIKE HES CONSTIPATED AND CANT MOVE?
+MarSian because he lost the only thing in this world that he could really call his own, it's hard to lose someone close, and after all the shit he has been through after losing his memories, maybe they finally came back and he hated the person he has become
+John Doe MOTHAH HAWLP MOTHAH HEWLP NOOOOOOOOOO AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! to be honest, the worlds worst dad award goes to Stannis Baratheon or Tywin Lannister. I choose the latter
Not really. If Geralt makes the worst choices for Ciri (sells her to Emhyr, doesn't help her vent, doesn't help her mourn etc.), she becomes the emperor of Nilfgaard, so really this is the "Almost Worst Dad Award."
+Shaun Powell Actually making her Empress of Nilfgard is the hardest ending to obtain. You have to be nice with her at least 3 times (2 for Witcher) and there are 5 specific choices in dialogs you MUST do. One of which is a quick time one.
+Xelian E yay me for getting that ending wothput knowing beforehand ^^ only thing that bugs me is that all 3 possible endings for the north are kind of bad, redania as independent racist country with radovid as king, a vassalstate Temaria or a djikstra ruled redania thats as rotten as the sewers. I wished there was a ending to convince temaria to foght for their independence, maybe with help of skjellige, because it has ben hinced that Nilfgaard would fall if at any point skjellige went on the offensive and the North kept resisting Nilfgaard
xLetalis Oh and if anyone's going to complain about the "geralt dies" in the title - "Witcher 3 Worst Ending - Ciri dies and it is strongly implied that Geralt might also be dead" is not a catchy title ;]
Ali Zandian i didn't want to be rude. Im sorry if that how it looks ;] I meant that the worst ending was available only when you choose all 'wrong' options in all those specific moments with Ciri. Once again, sorry for my attitude :P
you know they relationship was strong cause pitchers are stripped of emotion, I feel all the people Geralt feels close to he values deeply. so him acknowledge possible not knowing cirri is dead or not he's lost him meaning
I got this ending on my first playthrough. Not because I was an arse, but over protective and too serious for Ciri. It helped me with some real life lessons too like helping to cut people some slack, enjoy the moment and to have faith in them. Like to think I did learn from this in any case.
Yep! You were too overprotective of Ciri! How couldn't you have snowball fought her after she feels depressed over the loss of a loved one? And instead chose to try to talk about your feelings like adults? That's such bad parenting!
Exactly the same for me. I missed all the "silly" responses because the text for those responses was kinda vague, and I refused to put pressure on her, 'cos I figured everyone else was doing that. The game sees all that pressure as "positive".
@@Rigby350 Yup - the game is kinda weird in that scene - I feel a psychiatrist would definitely not agree with the "good" choice there. Besides, I had no idea there could even be a snowball fight. The text for it isn't exactly clear. I was worried for her, so there's no way I would have chosen to throw a snowball.
@@csbbk4986 That won't work. You have to be super positive around Ciri and put as much pressure on her to perform as possible, as well as acting silly when it seems that it's the time to discuss things seriously. Basically you need to act totally unlike Geralt from the books - put as much pressure on Ciri to perform as possible, and also act stupid like the guys from the movie "Dumb and Dumber", then you'll get the good ending.
Just finished my first play through, got this ending. My plan was to play through then get to the two expansion packs, but that feels wrong. I think I need to start again, I cant stomach the thought of Geralt and Ciri dead.
@Renalts X i finished the game at 130+ hours lol and i didnt played gwent as much nor completed every single ! icon which im gonna do and im yet to complete the expansion so that playtime is, gonna be extended
Except that they aren't dead! Ciri hasn't just returned yet! We didn't see her die and it wouldn't make any sense either. As for Geralt, the events of B&W expansion are 2 years after the defeat of Eredin.
that doesn't guarantee this ending, but yeah that is one of the bad decisions you can make. You basically get 3 strikes for the other two endings to occur.
I doubt Ciri is really dead in this ending. I think she just doesn't want to return to this world. She has nothing to return to. And everyone just assumes she died because she never returned.
Well I guess it is kind of the same whether she is so disappointed of everybody (Geralt specifically) that she loses hope and dies or if she is disappointed and leaves Geralt.
Cool ending. Fits Gerald and his life style. I guess he got tired of it but it's the only thing he can be. In his own words "No witcher has ever died in his own bed"
Dom x It doesnt fit Geralt in the slightest. He wants to die in a glorious, all out fight, yes. But Ciri dies. The most important person in Geralt's life. He dies here in remorse, pain and sorrow. It was not the death he seeks.
This ending is really really well-done. The emotion feels so real, I glad i checked it out. The other 2 endings feel too generic, they make Witcher 3 feels like another hero's story. This tragic ending, however, set it on another level, give players a story like nothing else. A true masterpiece, in term of story telling, alone.
TheChenDrums , it’s still bad, the empress on is the best and gestalt kind of is a hero unless you decide to turn him into an asshole by picking all the wrong and mean cchoices
In my personal opinion this is my favourite of all the possible endings. Years ago when I first played this game I received this ending and it left me heartbroken. But despite this feeling of grief I couldn't believe how a game could evoke such powerful emotions from me. This ending is sad, but its also beautiful.

Once I saw the cutscene skip to velen my heart sank, I saw this ending on youtube while I was halfway through the game and vowed to never mentally torment myself by having this ending, and now here I am, having just finished my first playthrough - with this ending. I though I made good choices for ciri, but I guess not... Time to have another playthrough of this game in *New game +* mode.. *sigh*
Wish you luck my friend, I've finished up with good one, though It wasn't enough to keep me from crying over Ciri's choice made to fight the White Frost. The things became even worse when I learned she is alive and game ends in empty Kaer Morhen with no people to talk to about everything. It was heartbreaking and saddening experience. I even wasn't able to go sleep and wonder if could recover during this week. Good luck.
Dude I got ciri becoming a witcher ending by just skipping the emperor meeting cuz I dont like him. Snowball fight with ciri and visit her friends grave. It ain't that hard.
Hey I just finished my first playthrough 200 hours in, dlcs completed and all. This was my ending and want to share my thoughts. I feel an incredible amount of sorrow and sadness for Geralt, to never show emotions, for being a witcher, to have lost the only person in which his love was never questioned... his last scene sitting with her medallion killed me. I feel like I wont replay nor further explore this game in a long time, I won't forget this feeling. Dont get my wrong, it is perhaps the best game/story I experienced in my life, but my heart cant take this. I encourage you to help any young witchers outside who are new to this tale, to suggest them to avoid this ending at any cost, it will at least make for it a more pleasant experience.
I feel really bad for anyone who simply made the wrong choices and got this ending. Think about how devastating/sad that would be after investing so much time, so many hours, and all your emotions into the game. And let's be real: without a guide of some kind, it wouldn't be hard to do on your first playthrough, as only *one* of the choices is obvious (visiting Ciri's friend's grave with her). This would be utterly heartbreaking. If this happened to you, I'm really sorry/hope you loaded up an earlier save and fixed things.
A lot of games take different approaches to decide what ending the player should get. I've completed a lot of side missions in rdr2 cause I fell in love with the world of the game and it gave me a good ending. Thought it should work similarly here but it didn't. At some point, every side quest or contract was giving me only 3 to 5 points of experience (instead of 150-300). After that, I decided that I won't do any side missions at all.
Bought this game in 2015 on Xbox, but I never got around to finishing it. Bought it again this summer on PC, and I ended up getting this ending. (I drank, took Ciri to the lodge, and told her to stay calm). I felt really bad and couldn't sleep. The very next day, I reloaded an old save and got the ending where Ciri becomes a Witcher. I know how much it hurts, but this feels like it's the true ending.
Yeah. No shit. Most satisfying endings I've ever seen. Just a phenomenal game. They did what bioware failed to realize. No one cared about crappy combat. Stupid multiplayer. It was about story and characters. Can take an average game design and send it through the stratosphere.

+zeiitgeist to be fair, some of the consequences of the dialogue choices were really unforeseeable.
I will post what I saw somewhere that pretty much describes the werewolf/Geralt situation at the end:
It is a metaphor for Geralt but it goes a little bit deeper than that.
Jeez man, that's deep.

Kul Zaze yeap, I didn't take her to meet her father.

Brilliant writing when a video game can leave someone so emotionally damaged.
Yea
+Elementz you do realize the games are based on books. So the writing was already done for them
No way ciri will let her keep the medallion in the other endings

+Shadow he probably gave up at that point
Yes, even rambo wouldnt survive at that point . im pretty sure geralt wouldnt even try to defend himself
he hasn't got his swords
+Rockman Rossi Igni son! He doesn't die.
Zireael... Swallow.... 🕊️
good point
Yep, you should always be a good parent! Make your child feel like grown ups! ESPECIALLY by snowball fighting them
It’s a good analogy but the decisions that make the ending happen are WAY to easy to make unintentionally.
Anyone else get sorta teary eyed throughout this game? Certain moments really get me...
For sure when Geralt finds Ciri's lifeless body, and holds her up... The first time I played that scene hit me right in the feels.
I feel you bro.. that part got me too
The game tricks you in a way in my ending, where he tells the emperor that Ciri is dead.
Easy, made me cry. Then I felt like an idiot haha.
+John Oswald Vesimir and crach still hurts me when I see them pass away and Ive played a good 6 times now
Even though this is sad, it's a pretty badass ending tbh
yes
It would have been more badass if you had the option to fight off the monsters swarming you.
i understand that you kinda like and feel impressed by the ending so that you deemed it "badass" but to me the word "badass" shouldn't be used in this case, it's more like "dramatic" to me and "tragic" is also fit.
Why can't you retrive the medallion and kill the crone after the good ending... it should be his main quest to kill that evil pig.
Szarko Yeah i agree
Pretty sure you can kill all 3 crones with the good ending lol
Kid Goku
how?
There's a quest with Ciri to go to the Giant Tree, south east of Velen (After the swamp area) You go to kill one of the Wild Hunt members (can't remember his name) And there's part of that quest where both you and Ciri fight all 3 crones
Kid Goku
Spiler: in this quest (bald mountian) Ciri fights crones, but will kill two... it's a cutscene.
I got the ending where he lies that she's dead and she becomes a witcher. But I started crying when I thought she was dead. I was so shocked because I thought I made such good decisions - but then I was so relieved and glad it was the ending I got.
really glad i didn't get this ending i would of been super depressed lol
Kyle Ohlson I got this one
i did and got depressed
after 200 hours playing as a living saint i got this ending.. and it gave me clinical depression.
I got it too, and what makes it worst is I thought this was the only ending I hated the game at first lmao
Just got it on my new game plus and dont know how I got it lol. Did everything basically the same as my first play through
"I don't feel a thing anymore" Damn it. Geralt's an edgelord now
Griffinator Imagine this line with those weird ass emo hair
Grief brings out everyone’s inner edgelord.
It's not edgy if you take into account that he's a deathwish now.
Nah edgelords usually say it without understanding the full meaning of the words
Not really, since he actually has a reason to feel that way, though I know it was just a joke
THis is the only time when Geralt refers to Ciri as his daughter, and that alone makes it necessary to play through...
well said
It's not the only time. I can't remember when, but he refers to her as his daughter at some other point prior.
Reaper Shackal when he was talking to the crones
iI think in a blood&wine quest he refers ciri a his daighter too
Cheese and Onions nah, I’ve managed to get him to say that ciri is his daughter earlier on
The saddest but best written ending IMO
I may agree with that statement ;]
Although this is the worst ending, for me, personally, it is the most satisfying. Since I first met the Crones that I wanted to shove my sword in their face. Nevertheless, the fact that Ciri doesn't come back and how badly it damaged Geralt is heartwrenching. You know its a good game when it spikes true emotion in you.
André Bolila I feel the same pretty much, it's really dramatic
André Bolila The last crone will die anyway. Without her sisters or the people giving them offerings she has little power.
I can't believe that out of all the endongs of this game I got the worst one :,(. I'm just gonna redo the whole game and make the right choices.
i cried at the positive ending
i went to the emperror and i told him ciri is dead
and i believed she was dead when he told him
i started crying so bad
then when i went at the bar in velen i saw her alive and it was all a trick
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME GAMEEEEEEEEEE?
TheDoggyGaming oh my, laughed so hard on your comment haha
I will pretend Geralt has a bad dream before going to kaer morhen, then I'll reload the save file before battle of kaer morhen. And Geralt will learn from that dream to change the future ! >:)
+Sami S Lol
That sounds like the movie "Next" ! :D
+1000 Crowns to you
+Sami S I DID THAT HAHAHAH, this was my first ending, then I pretend that it was a dream, then I did the reload on the ''elder blood kid'' mission, and did it the right way, was the best experience for me
+Sami S Same thing i did xD. I was so shocked about this ending that i started immedately back from the isle of mists. And checked everything so i wont fuck it up again. I'm like nope! I won't let it end like this.
+zozo11221 lol saaaame XD
This ending is absolutely haunting holy shit. I am actually relieved I didn't get this one first time around.
I got it when I finished.
Sam Poncho I got it first round yesterday😰 I feel so angry and surprised. Should I start NG+ or more on to blood and wine DLC
GOON do hearts of stone first, then blood and wine! Both are excellent. But wrap up everything in velen and skellige that you want to do before doing blood and wine!
Sam Poncho I did heart of stone in game already, it's just me waiting to deciding to play blood and wine or NG+
Then do blood and wine! It's really good and on top of that and will give Geralt some epic upgrades for NG+ like mutations and grandmaster gear. Did I mention it's just an excellent piece of DLC not worth skipping?
My feelings about the Ending
Here I am, devastated, the only word I can describe how tragic and bitter this ending left me.
Thank you CD Projekt Red.
well said
That's the thing. This game will really kick you in the feels and tell you what you are, if you really engage it and let it do so. Such a masterpiece.
The Witcher on Netflix is probably a foreshadowing of what is to come...I hope I am wrong bc this isn't an American developer, but the hooks of the Left reach across the oceans, and infect everything just as The White Frost destroys worlds...
i aint reading allat
my first thought reading the title: HOW CAN YOU FUCK UP THAT BAD
feels same as you bro :(
its actually pretty easy tbh. These endings are based off of choices you make throughout the entire game. It kinda sucks honestly
+Joshcoshbagosh Why does it suck? I hate games that let you choose your ending at the end.
AnonymMC because its not like you can just reload from before the final battle, change a few things, and then get a different ending. YOur ending is determined before the battle even starts. Its based off of decisions you made throughout the entire game, especially after you rescue Ciri
+Joshcoshbagosh that's the whole point, your choices actually matter you can't just make poor decisions the whole game and then have an option to redeem urself at the end. that's a cop out and I'm glad Witcher didn't do that
There's something very satisfying and badass about this ending, I must say.
Agree
Agreed, in a way, 'better' then the good ending (in my opinion), cant really explain why, probably because it felt more extended, deeper, than the good ending. You also see geralt in some kind of depression/mental breakdown, mental states that do not often occur with geralt.
should I tell why?because you just go like WHAT DA FUCK MAN?WHY DID ALL THEM MONSTERS COME?WHAT'S GERALT DOING JUST SITTING LIKE HES CONSTIPATED AND CANT MOVE?
it fits the theme of the witcher series.
+MarSian because he lost the only thing in this world that he could really call his own, it's hard to lose someone close, and after all the shit he has been through after losing his memories, maybe they finally came back and he hated the person he has become
I've never seen this ending... this is dark, like really Fucking dark
Apart from a couple of dialogue changes, this was my ending. Left me feeling quite bleak.
Actually fits the setting perfectly. It's a pretty unfair world out there.
“What do you know about saving the world? You’re but a Witcher” *Ouch*
You can sense the sorrow and coldness in his voice alone... It's fucking devastating. In the end he became the very thing he was destined to fight.
it is, a great ending.
but in English version his voice is literally the same like...always?
@@QuasiRus yep, this dude voice acting geralt is trying so hard to sound cool and he sounds cringe
I call this ending "World's Worst Dad Award."
bump
- And you are afraid... You feel fear.
- You lie. I don't feel a thing anymore.
“A Witcher who has nothing to lose”
“Is the most dangerous Witcher”
This one is very emotional as well :( I would've regretted my decisions so much if that was my "canon" ending.. But still I love it in a way
xLetalis Oh and if anyone's going to complain about the "geralt dies" in the title - "Witcher 3 Worst Ending - Ciri dies and it is strongly implied that Geralt might also be dead" is not a catchy title ;]
I'm just going to complain how you mentioned yourself
***** Yes she survives no doubt
Ciri is alive,but i don't know about Geralt,which he doesn't have a painted ending
Ali Zandian i didn't want to be rude. Im sorry if that how it looks ;] I meant that the worst ending was available only when you choose all 'wrong' options in all those specific moments with Ciri. Once again, sorry for my attitude :P
Geralt had a full on mental breakdown in that cabin
"You lie.I don't fell a thing Anymore" damn that hurts..
You know he lied, right?
Vay bir kardeşim bunu oynamış ha yabancı yorumların arasında bunu görmek güzel herkes pubg oynamıyor

@@agrlklarkemirenpanda660 Senelerdir buradayım :)
I just got that ending and I blame avallac so my next playthrough is distrusting him the entire time.
:( good luck
Me too brother
I'm in the same situation but I don't even have time to do another playthrough. It took like 45 hours to get through the game.
One way ticket to Feeladelphia please. First class.
flip...flip...flipadelphia...flip flip..flipadelphia
I knew I shouldn't have accepted the emperors damn coin...
same...I'm crying
that doesn't guarantee this ending, but yeah that is one of the bad decisions you can make. You basically get 3 strikes for the other two endings to occur.
L Bordois why would you do that, that’s so mean and plain wrong
If you deny it you get a new horse instead
i didnt go to see the emperors
This is the most underrated end. Very emotional and well done. Outstanding
I agree
I doubt Ciri is really dead in this ending. I think she just doesn't want to return to this world. She has nothing to return to. And everyone just assumes she died because she never returned.
I couldn't agree more.
Well I guess it is kind of the same whether she is so disappointed of everybody (Geralt specifically) that she loses hope and dies or if she is disappointed and leaves Geralt.
LordShadow1 Leaving to visit numerous other worlds and creating new bonds is totally not the same as dying.
No of course not, I meant that out of Geralt's perspective. He tried so much to be a good "father" but in the end he failed so badly.
I do think she didnt want to come back, dont think she's alive.
Cool ending. Fits Gerald and his life style. I guess he got tired of it but it's the only thing he can be. In his own words "No witcher has ever died in his own bed"
Dom x well said
+Dom x You know Geralt hates being called Gerald. Almost as much as he hates portals.
Lol, "No witcher has ever died in his own bed" was a quote by Letho of Gulet, not Geralt
Dom x It doesnt fit Geralt in the slightest. He wants to die in a glorious, all out fight, yes. But Ciri dies. The most important person in Geralt's life. He dies here in remorse, pain and sorrow. It was not the death he seeks.
Dom x sounds like you hate wicher
This ending is really really well-done. The emotion feels so real, I glad i checked it out.
The other 2 endings feel too generic, they make Witcher 3 feels like another hero's story. This tragic ending, however, set it on another level, give players a story like nothing else. A true masterpiece, in term of story telling, alone.
Thanh Do Huu agreed
Thank you for mentioning this. This makes me feels less guilty about this ending.
Kinda agree, but i cant stomach this ending
TheChenDrums , it’s still bad, the empress on is the best and gestalt kind of is a hero unless you decide to turn him into an asshole by picking all the wrong and mean cchoices
Jeydin Alejos what’s funny is I thought I picked the good choices
In my personal opinion this is my favourite of all the possible endings. Years ago when I first played this game I received this ending and it left me heartbroken. But despite this feeling of grief I couldn't believe how a game could evoke such powerful emotions from me. This ending is sad, but its also beautiful.
Ending so emotional that they should have put a disclaimer for suicidal thoughts if seen
True

xLetalis Yeah. Pretty sure it's that guy who cuts off his ear after Geralt does the tree spirit quest.
chap0syoutuification or any other man who asked something to the ladies of the wood
chap0syoutuification Explains why he's so eager to get back at the Crones, going as far as offering his help to Geralt.
OMG is this really the guy who cut his ear off earlier?
chap0syoutuification I'm not sure it's him. the alderman cut off his left ear and the werewolf is missing it's right
I got this. I was so depressed I had to change it. All I had to do was change one single choice I made, and I got the good ending.
You want a real worst ending ?
- Take the Money and don´t look any further for the lost Sister (First Werewolf Quest)
- kill the Botchling ("unborn" from the Bloody Baron")
- Make Philip Strenger hang himself (Bloody Baron, free the Dark Spirit in the Trees / Muhmen Quest)
- Send Keira Metz to Radovid (tell her it´s a "good" idea)
- Don´t Help Triss Merigold or the other Mages
- Make a sad play in the Theater (choose to play a Tragedy)
- Get the "wrong" Murderer in Novigrad (let the Vampire life/asume it was Nathaniel in the Rittersporn Quest)
- Let Cerys & Hjalmar die (don´t help them in their Quests, and after the massaker Ignore it)
- Let Radovid be alive (don´t help Djikstra & the others)
- Tell Yen "to go to Hell" , ok basicly u just say "I don´t love u" but u get the hang of the idea (Djin Quest)
- Kill in both Succubus Witch Hunter Quests the "Ladys" (one in Novigrad, the other on Skellige)
- Kill all Trolls in the Witch Hunter Quests or Normal Quests (basicly ever Troll who allows conversation)
- Let Lambert die in Kaer Morhem (In Battle, if Vesimir advices u to help him, refuse, go elswhere killing Wild Hunt Folks)
- Sell out Ciri to Emhyr (take the Gold with pleasure)
- Let Ciri die (make the worst decisions)
- No Romance with Shani (just don´t !)
- Let Gounter O´Dim take Olgierds Soul (don´t help Olgierd in the last moment)
- Visit the "Old One" , or Vampire Master who´s able to summon Detlaff (the option that Regis realy don´t like)
- Let Anarietta and her Sister die (safe Syanna from Detlaff but do the wrong answers afterwards)
So far so good, I did it once and, what can I say ? Does the Devil feels bad about being himself , I don´t think so. That nasty grin in ur face, after u realize on what pile of corpses u are walking.
ps: It´s a Game in the very end, never forget that. No one forces u to play this ending - it´s your very own decision.
well i didnt enjoy myself in this decisions
Real worst ending is let Gaunter take Olgierd's soul THEN choose the gold reward, which is like 2 pennies and a half in witcher terms
Wait.... about b&w..... I was able to save aenrietta after her sister teleported to magic world? I thought, i did everytjing to save her, but still
@@tornad8063 to save her you need to by sympathetic to her in the magic world. When she offers to tell you her story, let her tell you it. I wanted to be able to kill Weavess in the other two endings. Ciri would love to get Vesimir's Medallion back.
Good luck.

Hey I just finished my first playthrough 200 hours in, dlcs completed and all. This was my ending and want to share my thoughts.
I feel an incredible amount of sorrow and sadness for Geralt, to never show emotions, for being a witcher, to have lost the only person in which his love was never questioned... his last scene sitting with her medallion killed me.

you got to continue as if the main story never ended tho...so there's that lil detail.
The story of blood and wine confirms that Geralt didn't die even if you got that ending.
WHAT THE FUCK! U MEAN IT???
Appreciate the comment
I just did the same decisions and reloaded a save in the end too. Bought this on PC last summer too... I am you lmao
Ok. This is an emotional ending. You could almost feel Geralt's frustration while looking for the medallion inside the hut.
+labanos21 it's true
See this, BioWare? This is how you make the players' decisions MATTER!
Yeah. No shit. Most satisfying endings I've ever seen. Just a phenomenal game. They did what bioware failed to realize. No one cared about crappy combat. Stupid multiplayer. It was about story and characters. Can take an average game design and send it through the stratosphere.
Ciri isn’t dead, she’s just bounty hunting in Night City.
Yep she travels time and space
