The one thing I wish Skellige had, was actual ships traveling back and forth between the islands. It doesn’t need to be that much, maybe 2-3 ships at a time? I mean, for an island nation, it makes very little sense that there aren’t any ships traveling back and forth between the different settlements on the islands.
@@INMATE2468 If you call the witcher 3 an indie game I think you should probably stick to minecraft or roblox or whatever free to play games you find on Steam
@@adrien8747 the Witcher 3 IS an indie title lmao. CD Projekt Red was an indie developer at the time and were their own publishers. Stop embarrassing yourself kiddo. Learn your basic witcher history
@Joseph Waters I wish you could set the world to be as bright as Touissant so you could atleast dampen how grim everything is in the witcher with some cheery visuals.
@Joseph Waters it has a strong resemblence to tuscany in italy or france imo. i once had a night a night were i just drank wine and wanderend through the area and it was like vacation i might repeat it soon since i am watching a lot of witcher 3 videos lately
A small contribution for anyone who doesnt know: If you ignore stealth options and approach Emhyr's ship while on a boat during the "Veni, Vidi, Vigo" quest (one of the final main missions of the base game) Geralt will cite "Wait! Parlay! I'm a- ! Dammit!" before getting sunk. Most probably a Pirates of the Caribbean easter egg. Made me smile instantly :P
Kamyab Kaze actually no, game of thrones is more similar to the MCU and Marvel comics, George R.R Martin, the writer of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” books that Game of Thrones is based off of, even confirmed that the biggest inspiration for the books and the show was Marvel comics and the characters and it’s evident since if you make a comparison of the show’s characters and the Marvel heroes they share a lot of similarities
@@xLetalis I've never seen anyone mentionned it ... but if you choose Cerys path during King's Gambit and follow Arnvald during the pursuit without interrupting him, he will lead you to a beach where there will be Clan's Tuirseach warriors awaiting him. They will try to kill him but you can save him and it offers another piece of dialogue later when you have to present proof agains't Birna Bran ..
#11: Deflect the curse definitely. If you make him go back to her, he'll be unhappy because he doesn't love her, she will be unhappy because he'll never love her, his wife will be unhappy that he left her, and his son will have to grow up without a father. If you deflect the curse, Lothar and his family live happily ever after, and Jonna, who is wicked enough to curse an innocent child over jealousy, will get what she deserves.
By doing that you are clearly killing a human being who has done nothing to you, while it could have been resolved another way. There is no lesser evil. Never. The whole point of being between the two is to intervene as little as you can, while still doing the right thing. By telling Lothar to go back to her you place all of the pressure and responsibility on him, making it his choice not yours. Its his family, if he wants to take up arms against her for wanting his innocent child dead then so be it, but not by your hand. Anyways, that was just my thinking about the whole thing there is hardly one clear choice in these situations...
HyenA806 I rather kill a woman capable of murdering a kid over jealousy (btw she did not care one bit for the child’s fate) than destroying a whole family ruining each of their lives forever, including joanna’s as she will also be miserable
There is a Jimi Hendrix Easter Egg i just found after having the game since its release. Its an NE Island on the Pali Gap Coast in Skellige. An Isolated cave used as a retreat by the worlds most famous bard before Dandelion, the great Xirdneh of Zanguebar reknowned for his ferocious lute strumming. Xirdneh is Hendrix backwards. Hendrix had a song named Pali Gap about a place in Hawaii where he made a movie and filmed a concert. I met the bass player from the band of Gypsies named Billy Cox and we talked about this song because the riff is boss. This made my day. As if i could not enjoy this game any more!!!
@@Aati_Gumer # 134: "Actually half of the game's content is in the Royal Palace in Vizima, but for some reason players don't know about it." #168: "Behind one door you can find Triss and Ciri bathing together."
I think the ghost ship is a reference to Pavetta (Ciri’s birth mother) and her death. She was on a ship, there in Skellige, and drowned after a storm suddenly broke out. Or just another Skelliger voyage gone wrong.
Skellige is my fav place to be around the atmosphere is much better and the people actually respect being a witcher and being a warrior and are actually honest people loved the place shame the game wasn't based more in skellige
There double sided blade your right but on the other hand you can go and raid and rape the main land and be praised as a hero so there not exactly good to
@@lenska_7507 I hated that too, until i learned that you can just press the crossbow button, and Geralt automatically shoots them. (It's best to do this when they've grabbed onto your boat). Once or twice and they're dead. Too many of them, just jump underwater and kill them with the crossbow. You can also leave the helm of your boat when they're latched on, and use your sword
Jesus, the mild panic I got when geralt was falling at the beginning there.. It's a good thing no monster ever figured out they could drop him like two meters off the ground and insta kill him!
In the basement where the sky cells are, one of the pirates also has a letter covered in lovecraftian language and the word "cthulu" indicating they may have been cultists.
Here is another one. On the east side of Skellige , you will find a small island where you will see a sunken ship. If you investigate enough, a quest will show up. The ship apparently comes from very very far away, as far as Ofir I think. The quest ends in Novigrad when you encounter a woman with his child speaking a whole different dialect.
Yes actually you can find a man looking for a woman by a hut speaking that same language says she is wanted in his country. Their crest has zebras on it
I have a minor detail that probably gets missed. When your wondering in wilds, you can search wooden logs and find money inside of them. I have no idea why, but you can get a fair amount of coins from them.
2:16 I was actually surprised that Birna Bran let herself get arrested. When I sided with Cerys and Birna was being exposed I thought she would jump from the rampart to her death and say something about her choosing her end at her own terms, especially after they reveal the method of her death
It's amazing how alive is the Witcher world CD Projekt created. If Cyberpunk 2077 has a fraction of the replayabilty of The Witcher 3 it will blow me away.
I hope so. But I will be sceptical until I have played it myself. The Witcher was an overall outstanding experience. The setting 100% fits my taste and if I hear the background music in this video it still gives me goosebumps. Everything is absolutely believable in this game. The reason I will stay sceptical is because Cyberpunk is a totally different setting. I trust CD project red, that they will put their heart and soul into this game, but this doesnt mean that it must be also that good compared to the Witcher. This futuristic setting isnt my favourite and the trailers were good, no question, but for me it was lacking this mystical component, that made the witcher 3 so special. The amazing music, paired with the amazing setting, thats what made the Witcher so special. Often I was just standing there and watched my sourrounding. Not one second I doubt that Cyberpunk will be an amazing game. But its another kind of game. Its gameplay will be much faster. I hope this will not destroy the fun of just exploring the beautiful landscape. Cyberpunk will take play in some futuristic world made out of stone and asphalt. I honestly doubt, that it will be that amazing to explore. But we will see, I hope that I am wrong. Hopefully they will create Witcher 4 after that. They mentioned that the story of Gerald is over but I would be happy as well with Ciri as the main character.
@@friedrichnevermind Sooo nice! Thanks for letting me know! I am aware that it will still take a long, long time until the Witcher 4 will be released, because they havent even started its development, but thats amazing news. I hope that Cyberpunk will be a great game, because then we have another great CD project red game to play in the near future and hopefully it will give them the money and ressources to speed up the developing process of the next Witcher game a little bit. Not too much of course, because what seperates CD project red from many other AAA-publishers is their way of developing. So that they still put their time and heart into it, so that every little detail is just perfect. If you have to release a new game every 12 months, you simply can not put that much love into a project. Even if the developers try to make up for that with having a way larger team, because having to many people working on it can bring other problems that can negatively influence the result. I am still a little bit sceptical, because Cyberpunks setting and game mechanics will differ so much from the Witcher games, but hopefully it will surprise me in a positive way. That they delayed the release date is a good sign. It shows again, that even if the game is completely playable, they dont want to release a product that isnt polished to the max. And thats something we should really appreciate, in times, were many games are unplayable and unfinished at release date. Were you have to wait for the first major bug fixes, to just experience the games without huge problems.
@@Ramurod yeah man, altho last year someone from the company said they wanted another AAA title out by 2021, which at this point seems unlikejy coz i doubt cdpr would rush smthn, but id say we may have the next witcher game in the next 3-ish years
@@keafoleafo8368 though they were no longer as feared as they were in the past. I do also prefer Cerys on the throne, but when you remember that they are still expansionist empires ot there like Redenia or Nilfgaard out there, you realise that perhaps she's not the right option right now
Though the game will still treat you as if you let the bastard go, thus folks would now curse you and the journal would say Geralt freed him. The reward was not worth it
King Svanrige If you let the Woodland Spirit live, whenever you're near to any enemies (wolves/bandits) crows will fly around as a warning. Only happens on Skellige though.
The best detail about Skellige for me personally is that most of the towns/villages in the Skellige isles are named after actual locations in Norway. I was raised in the very real town of Larvik, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciated its namesake in one of the best games of all time.
@@kevinvalenci9853 I've played Odyssey twice since release and Witcher 3 4 times since buying it 7 months ago. Personally, I think AC Odyssey is good but it still can't hold a candle to Witcher 3 (I know of very few games that can). The problem with Odyssey is almost all side quests and even some main quests are either fetch quests or go here, kill that, here's a reward. One of the things that sets Witcher 3 apart from other games is the fact that contracts, side quests and a few treasure hunts are main quest quality, if not better. I have hundreds of hours in Witcher and even though I have atleast 10 hours left in my current run, I'm already planning my fifth and sixth. The game has so much amazing content, and I highly doubt I have seen anywhere near everything this game has to offer. I'm still discovering new things every playthrough. Odyssey lacks that sense for me and I have done hardly any side quests because I fear most will be dull and repetitive, and I'd rather not ruin mu enjoyment of an otherwise pretty good game. Also, you don't get to bang a sorceress on a unicorn in Odyssey.
Odyssey is a decent game but it lacks depth in terms of characters and side content. Side quests in TW3 are some of best in any game ever not to mention the amazing main story plus the DLCs. I could say a lot more but the guy above already did so yeah. You're entitled to your opinion but for me it's a no contest. Witcher 3 >>>>>>
The Cerys path is better, the berserkers are formidable warriors, if Skellige ever gets invaded by the Nilfgaardians again, Skellige will need the berserkers, and she would probably be capable of marrying a foreign ruler and unifying their countries. Hjalmar keeps tradition up and his people happy but he's poking the hornet's nest, on the sea he could probably fend off the black ones but on land they are no match against trained and disciplined soldiers, once Nilfgaard makes it to shore its pretty much game over for them. I am proud of them both though, true warriors of steel and mind alike.
Come to think of it,if i remember right there is a castle on one of the smaller isles that was blasted by artillery(catapults etc) and i think it was the Nilfgaardians who did it
SHADOW REALM - I have to disagree about Nilfgaard chances in a direct assault on Skellige. If the Nilfgaardians ever attacked the Skelligers directly, Skellige would easily outmatch the Nilfgaardians in close combat with their hardened battle skills, brute strength and extremely brutal & proficient counter offensive tactics. IOW, land traps, grenades, siege weapons and sabotage. Most of the 'Black Un's' generals and military command are classically schooled dandies. They couldn't last more than a few seconds against Skellige's armies on their own territory. Even with their better armor and weapons. The reason that Nilfgaard would, however, win a prolonged war against Skellige has to do with their advantage over Skellige on sheer numbers, general technology and military cohesiveness. Also, the Nilfgaard Empire has a much more productive and far more profitable government & society. Which means they have near unlimited resources to call on. Including mercenary armies and navy fleets. The wild card, though, that could win the war for either side is, of course, magic. Depending on who has the best access to the best magic would be all it would take to snatch defeat away from the enemy. Now, Cerys clearly understood all of this. She was the smart one. The most determined and most resourceful. She was always the best choice for Skellige's future.
Its funny because if you choose cerys there is a suggestion that while she brings prosperity for a time, their lack of military focus leads to skellige being ill equipped for the advancing tide of nilfgaardians. Hjalmar is pretty much the reverse but he also has issues with discontent brewing at home in spite of several victories against nilfgaard
9 things you might have missed in skellige: 1: At 11:42 Something you might have missed is if you choose to let jonna live, after a couple of days go back to the house of the cursed child. Now you can see there is a guy axing woods outside their house. Wait till it gets dark and the guy will come inside and sit on a chair inside the house. This might be the new partner of his mother and the now-stepfather of the child. 2: You can actually save jorund from dying. His death is scripted at the end of Contract: The Phantom of Eldberg if one hasn't completed King's Gambit yet. However, if King's Gambit is completed before the contract, the fight will never happen and thus he lives. However, doing the above to save him will lock you out of the following quests: Stranger in a Strange Land, The Cave of Dreams, and An Unpaid Debt. One trick however to not miss the cave of dreams contract is to go directly to to the cave location before collecting your reward from jorund ( or starting his quest). You can encounter Blueboy Lugos' ship near a cave southeast of Holmstein's Port and Kaer Muire. There you can start the quest. 3: There is actually a Secret Chest in Skellige (Kaer Muire Mountain). Just go on top of the mountain on Kaer Muire and you will stumble upon a chest. Wont reveal whats inside, its for you to find out. :) 4: Another one, there is actually a lot of hidden chest and a big genie like bottle or something that is used for alchemy below the distillery Southeast of the Palisade and northwest of Grotto. You can go there when you start the associated quest: Practicum in Advanced Alchemy. After finishing the quest, go out of the cave and on the wooden stair just outside the cave, slide down the mountain and on the bottom, you can find the chest where you can loot some good stuff including an alchemy diagram which can be found if you swim on the shore and dive down the water. But before doing that, there is actually a rotten corpse on the left side of the shore which looks like Gunter o Dimm or should i say GOD :) I think you can loot something from him which might be an apple which in reference to the garden of eden story wherein adam and eve saw the truth when eating an apple. I think Gunters purpose is like how the snake or satan performed his actions on the garden of eden. The rest is for your own interpretation. 5. On the Lord of Undvik quest, when you reach the area of master armorers cave associated quest, you can actually go on top of the mountain. Climb up to the top and slide your way down like a ski and turn right so your path would go down directly to the house. Its a very long and satisfying slide. Probably the longest one ive done. The path is also clear. 6: You can actually follow cerys after her argument with her brother during the opening of kings gambit quest. She will go down to the stairs and breath some fresh air to cool down on the balcony of the castle. There you can trigger a conversation with her. 7: At 16:05 There is actually a post script where svanrige actually ended the feud with all the clans and established a monarchy himself patterned after the continent but on the cost of blood of his people thus eliminating the voting system of the vikings which contradicts the notion of the freedom to vote in skellige and the uniqueness of its politics. 8. To confirm svanrige accusations with her mother that she told him to stay outside the feast hall, you can actually find him on his room on the right top just outside the feast hall. There he is standing beside his bed. 9 - Inaccesible place of power in Kaer trolde. But hear me out first. My unconventional choice despite criticism from others is hjalmar to be a crowned as king. Despite being hot-headed, he has the counsel of his sister and his father. Yeah, birna will not be convicted, but i hate the idea of banishing svanrige when you help cerys despite svanrige actually accused his own mother. I think the devs were critical about hjalmar. Even to the point of putting a quen (queen) place of power which is only accessible if you choose cerys. Hjalmar is a true embodiment of a skelligan. That is there way of life, though it might be not peaceful to other but through time with the help of her sister and his father, i think he will be a good king. I just can feel that CDPR is biased towards hjalmar. He is a nice guy, even helps geralt in battle in kaer morhen which he has a funny scene that he WWE one of the wild hunt soldier and went inside the portal, but was transported back because the hunt might have been shocked with what he has done. Haha. Even though in my own interpretation, birna will again strike and conduct another assassination towards hjalmar, he told geralt that he will be more suspicious and look more closely behind his back. Geralt even mentions to cerys that hjalmar is impetuous but not stupid. (Thus, he knows about the legend of the Vildkaarls who transforms into bears). Well, that is all I can remember xletalis, thanks and cheers mate.
Here's another super unique detail I noticed: During the quest, 'Stranger in a Strange Land', if you Aard the other prisoners, you'll get into a fist fight with them, and if you win, it triggers a rare dialouge scene with the Guards
I just attacked the prisoners cause the guard kinda stated that he said he was waiting for 2 years other for 4 years I felt like I should get rid of them
Oh man, every time I learn something new about the Witcher it always baffles me how great of a game came out of such a comparatively small studio. The details are insane. Also the fact that in many quests you don't get a "well done"-medal but just have to live with your own consciousness is pretty cool, that feeling of doubt that you forgot something or didn't make the right choice without ever getting a definitive answer. Just next level gaming.
Did anyone else find a pamphlet of a worried citizen in Toussaint? I started a new game yesterday and found one in the barn next to the basilisk and I'm sure that I haven't seen one yet (maybe its a normal thing and I'm blind). Anyway, the citizen kind of spoilers the whole plot saying the older sister of the duchess was sent away years ago and will now come back soon, taking her earned spot.
At the top of Mount Gorgon, if you can climb it, there's a class picture like of all the crew and employee of CD Project who made the witcher 3 possible
I don’t know if this was already covered, but should you travel to Skellige before doing ANY research on Ciris whereabouts in Velen and or Novigrad, Geralt will tell Yen (at the funeral of King Bran) that he hasn’t found out anything as of yet! There’s even a dialogue option which goes something like „Haven’t found out anything yet. I just came here as fast as possible“ upon which Yennefer says something about how she expected Geralt to travel to Skellige only after completing his search for Ciri on the continent and that now they’ll start searching on Skellige since they’re both there already! Intersting detail one can easily miss since I doubt anybody would do things so much out of order!
Yeah I should make a video about that, there are also different encounters with the Baron when you ask for Uma based on which parts of the main story you've done.
I remember a locked house near the nithing quest that if you meditate in front of, a group of bandits come out and attack you and it turned out they had a hostage in there. Also in novingrad, there was a quest where some skellige men took over a brothel and you try to get them to leave, if you killed the ice giant first there was a dialog option mentioning it and they called geralt the giantslayer a friend and leave.
i did this quest and I did the giant quest before it, I was amazed by the dialogue option, that was my "ok this game is amazing and pays attention to details" moment
Cerys or Hjalmer? It's a tough choice if really do care, while i just go with the one i like the most as a character (Cerys) there is pros and cons to both rulers. *Spoilers* Hjalmer will rule skellige as it has been ruled for pretty much ever, plundering the sea, make skellige strong by showing outlanders that they are not to be triffled with, He would make an excellent commander in war and a good king to his people as not that much change would come if he was to be elected king. Cerys on the other hand does want to make change, while still keeping the isles strong she instead choses to welcome trade to the isles as well as starting to live off of the land instead of relying solely on the sea to provide. While alot of skelligers wouldnt agree with Cerys's methods right off the bat they are bound to pay off eventually. While not as great a warrior as Hjalmer she's a better diplomat and Would make an excellent queen if she gets elected.
3:13 its an easter egg, a reference to a Polish punk song which contains a line "Dobry chłopak był i mało pił" which means "he was a good boy, didn't drink much" but it doesn't rhyme or sound catchy in English. Witcher has a lot of those small Polish pop culture references which are very hard to notice for a foreigner.
It's actually even hard to figure out for somebody having this particular song on a playlist :P They must've had a lots of fun while creating dialogues :)
i believe in skellige there is a point up high on a mountian which looks like a stone monument. there is a poem on a bit of parchment at the foot of the structure which intimates that you should find the point where the tip of the structure casts a shadow into a nearby valley under the noon sun. if you go to that point, there is a chest half buried in the earth and some loot inside. i missed it on my first 3 playthroughs.
So here's two I recently found, not sure if anyone else found them. 1) on one the islands on the top right corner. If you explore the island you find what looks like a funeral pyre with a big brown bear on it with 2 chests. 2) (and this one intrigues me) again in top right corner area you find a ship, with bodies tied to the ropes going to the sails. Then on the steering wheel you find a body crucified to it. Does it belong to a quest or something? There's no treasure to it and it didn't trigger anything? Maybe a forgotten or drop quest from developers?
I found this isle by chance while just random exploring recently and it creeped me the fuck out. There is also a huge swarm of birds over the big tree near the bear that makes the isle look ominous from a distance. Like what the hell happened here? Overall exploring the unmarked small islands of Skellige is something I'd recommend to anyone who's not easily bored. Several more of them have interesting and/or creepy details hidden on them.
IIRC, once you leave the tent after Avallac'h's briefing to you and the Sorceresses, you can find Ciri nearby in small, narrow ravine practicing her "Force" powers by levitating several small rocks. There are a few small snippets of dialogue. Another great video - Thank you.
Cannot believe the amount of detail in this game. The land patterns and some of the other stuff you show is simply incredible. Developers knew 99.9% players won't see it, but still put it there for sake of making a more detailed, living world... incredible. It's 55 GB for good reason I see.
For conversations sake if we look at the view count on these videos that reveal these Easter eggs to witcher fans I think that 99% number is lower than that. Witcher sold 30 mill copies. 1.3 M saw this video so approx 4% of fans know about these details now 😇
I might have found something: the Skellig islands actually exist in real life and are mainly know for their large population of birds. Now if you rotate the map of Ard Skellig (the main island) 45 degrees clockwise it is in the shape of a bird including a lake for an eye.
I was laughing my ass of in my first playthrough when I asked Morkvarg for the reward and killed him right after that. One of the best endings to a quest xD
A little longer than usual but I hope you guys enjoy it! Also, I've left a couple of things out since I plan on making exclusive videos for them. (One is about Hjalmar's quest). Also I I forgot to ask you guys to like the video :P Go ahead and do if you thought it was good!
As far as I know the three Trolls are not only references but they are also voiced by the three UA-camrs. CDPR had that done also with three german UA-camrs btw.
20:06 In the German Version are the Trolls 3 German UA-camrs Gronkh, Sarazar and High5. Gronkh and Sarazar are one of the fameoust UA-camrs in Germany.
I know I'm really late to this but I've now played the game 3 times and have chosen Cerys every time because she seems calmer and more level headed than Hjalmar. Also, the music in Skellige is my favourite. It's so hauntingly beautiful
The crabs aren't specific to that quest, i saw them the first time i arrived on Undvik, but always at night time. It's a great sight when you see them.
Should've mentioned about shrines of Skellige gods which you can pray and change weather with it. And one of those shrines, theres a cute sidequest. Not sure locations. Youll have to search for them.
So true, in almost every quest most of the npcs just seem to vanish after the quest like they never existed. If they're still there, they won't have much or any dialogue. And the npcs are not much different from any other game object. But in the Witcher series it feels so real, even NPCs have lives of their own, routines, schedules, opinions, personalities. They continue living their lives even after the quest ends, and the outcome of the quest is very clear in how they lead their lives.
Brother you are the only one I know who shares my unrelenting passion for the witcher world! Currently watching your whole playlist (130+ videos) in order. Thank you so much for this A+++ Content and see you in the next one 😁
Undvik is my favorite location in the whole game! I think there should be at least several interesting details... At least, song of the old man is beautiful
@@Rakshiir Also brother & father can still support her, its better to have a smart ruler than someone as hotheaded as her brother who might take it too fast before hearing opinions like blaming the bearserkers without asking who is behind all if it.
I just finished the game after it having been sat on my hard drive for 2 years without being touched. Gotta say, I am glad I opened it again. Definitely the best open world game I have ever played, and the second-best video game I have ever played. Everything about it was absolutely perfect. Only thing I could fault was Roach's mechanics being a bit wonky. Ending is an emotional roller coaster. I am actually sad that I can't erase my memory of this game and play it all over again. What an absolute masterpiece.
Skellige Act was so good to be just a game.I blindly went for Cerys for a wise king.Anyways,I'm waiting for a Toussaint video because it's so breathtaking and eye catching.I found so many things in Toussaint but I'm not home rn.Thanks for videos like this.I appreciate your efforts.Have a good life with your family...
You didnt include the unmarked riddle on Skellige, near the Druids Place I think. On a mointain, is a smal Stonehenge-like Rock formation, that ona specific time of the day, throws a shadow into the woods below, right where this shadow lands, isa secred unmarked tressure chest. I don´t quite remember where exactly it was, but somewhere south of the druids place I think. There is a book near these stones aswell that explains the riddle, if Im not mistaken.
I thought the reward was just the Glyph behind the monument (I almost fell off the cliff getting it), pretty sure it says the shadow at midday, which would be a very small shadow. idk?
Cerys is the best ruler for Skellige. Full of wisdom, unites the clans in the end, and puts an end to the raiding of foreign lands. Sigi is the best Chancellor option in my opinion. Even though he's an ass, he's the lesser of 3 evils and he quoted Macbeth
Hey xletails found another side quest in skellige that i have never found even after 600 hours of playtime. Its called finders keepers and it is on the island north east of Yustianna grave on some islands by the coast. A ship wreak and a group of pirates are there. After killing them investigate and you start the quest. It is quite small but it is very obscure.
I was surprised you didn't include the shipwreck to the east of "Redgill" that leads to the quest "From a Land Far, Far Away". I only discovered this one myself a couple months ago.
I really liked 'the best of both worlds' option with Morkvarg. Similarly to the Werewolfs wife, it feels like a secret third option. Also Blueboys death hit me much harder than I expected, especially after his quest.
I prefer Cerys as queen, it's by far the best choice in my opinion. And she's miles ahead of her brother when it comes to intellect, I mean, she come up with an idea on the fly to outsmart a Hymn. That convinced me on the spot.
I've played through this game at least 4 different times and I never knew that you could loot back the 1000 coins you paid to the captain to sail you to Skellige. I guess that obvious fact flew right over my head...or ran aground over a rocky outcropping.
Not something missed, but I recently did the Skellige's Most Wanted quest. Probably one of the most interesting one I have done so far. Very philosophical, & made me glad about the times I showed mercy to monsters earlier in the game!
@@xLetalis same , i ignored it for the past year and half. just getting back into it again recently. It seems your channel has been growing well since last time i checked, congratulations man.
@@xLetalis I think Skellige felt more "personally" grim. The culture was very free spirited and almost naive at times, which makes a lot of the misfortune that befalls people extra impactful. I think the quests for the individual clients wound up disturbing me more. Also pair that with the music and the climate, and it just has this mysterious, eerie vibe that I've never seen replicated in a game before
Instead of the lift , you can use a small path in the same tower that runs alongside the cliff and at the end you end up near the barber's house .Its the fastest way of getting up there from the town , second only to the fast travel .
1 small detail that isn’t important but i thought interesting is during the sun stone search in skellige quests. While talking to the diver “fishlung” i found out that if you mention its dangerous they leave right away safely and aren’t attacked by the drowners. If you dont mention/skip that dialogue option. They get attacked by the drowners while you’re there in the underwater cave.
This may have been posted somewhere, but I just noticed something during the quest "Child of the Elder Blood", if you choose to help Ciri trash the lab, Yennifer looks on for a while and I wondered if she was going to participate. She was standing below a portrait of Avalach, which is shown as they leave with a drawn-on mustache and beard. Yen the rebel!
It's been a while since I played through the game as you're supposed to during the Skellige part so I might be wrong. The other day I set off to Skellige while being a bit overlevelled. I decided I wanted to go get the tools from Undvik first thing, so I did - and helped Hjalmar in the process without ever going to the funeral or meeting Yennefer. When you later meet Crach together with Yen during the feast he has a different dialogue to say about Cerys. He says something along the lines of "..desperate to match Hjalmar's feat, she's decided to sail for Spikeroog to aid Jarl Udalryk". It might be unchanged from if you meet Yen first and then set off to Undvik. Look into it, maybe?
Hi! I don't know if this is the first time someone mentions this, but if you go to Undvik island as soon as you get on Skellige, you can still find Hjalmar, going to kill the Ice giant, and (i guess) you get an unique piece of dialogue from him because he's surprised about the fact that you're still alive, and states that his father told stories about you when he was a child, so yeah, Geralt is old...
Skellige's soundtrack, mainly the one that plays in the port of Kaer Trolde is Masterful,of the 9 times I finished the witcher 3 I always feel chills when i hear this soundtrack. I also feel nostalgia, remembering when I finished the game for the first time in 2018 and went to Skellige for first time in the game.
About the crabs. I haven't seen them but I believe some things are patched up. In Witcher 2, right at the beginning after you leave the tent with Triss and wander around the camp you could overhear a conversation between two soldiers about their mate being injured and a medic that is a butcher. After GOG version of the game has been updated to Enhanced Edition I couldn't find this conversation any more.

I think in some areas you can see ships sailing on the sea, but afaik they don't make port and you can't interact with them.

If you ignore stealth options and approach Emhyr's ship while on a boat during the "Veni, Vidi, Vigo" quest (one of the final main missions of the base game) Geralt will cite "Wait! Parlay! I'm a- !
Never.

@@kevinvalenci9853 I've played Odyssey twice since release and Witcher 3 4 times since buying it 7 months ago.
Come to think of it,if i remember right there is a castle on one of the smaller isles that was blasted by artillery(catapults etc) and i think it was the Nilfgaardians who did it
Laughs in svanrige
Cerys is twisted. She comes up with the idea of throwing a baby into the oven just a little too quickly.
9 things you might have missed in skellige:
1: At 11:42 Something you might have missed is if you choose to let jonna live, after a couple of days go back to the house of the cursed child.
4: Another one, there is actually a lot of hidden chest and a big genie like bottle or something that is used for alchemy below the distillery Southeast of the Palisade and northwest of Grotto.

Also in novingrad, there was a quest where some skellige men took over a brothel and you try to get them to leave, if you killed the ice giant first there was a dialog option mentioning it and they called geralt the giantslayer a friend and leave.
i did this quest and I did the giant quest before it, I was amazed by the dialogue option, that was my "ok this game is amazing and pays attention to details" moment
shits i went there before killing the giant and my first impression of skellige people were total bastards
DAMN! The details and nuance just don't stop! Any complaints are simply nitpicks. Can't we all agree on that? CDPR made one hell of a game!
Cerys or Hjalmer?
It's a tough choice if really do care, while i just go with the one i like the most as a character (Cerys) there is pros and cons to both rulers.
*Spoilers*
Hjalmer will rule skellige as it has been ruled for pretty much ever, plundering the sea, make skellige strong by showing outlanders that they are not to be triffled with, He would make an excellent commander in war and a good king to his people as not that much change would come if he was to be elected king.
A man of culture :)
It's actually even hard to figure out for somebody having this particular song on a playlist :P They must've had a lots of fun while creating dialogues :)
Cerys is the best ruler, because despite ignoring their traditions she wants to make Skellige a better place for those who live there.
The wife's son is the best ruler because he turns on her Nilfguardian consorts and drives them out of the isles.
i believe in skellige there is a point up high on a mountian which looks like a stone monument. there is a poem on a bit of parchment at the foot of the structure which intimates that you should find the point where the tip of the structure casts a shadow into a nearby valley under the noon sun. if you go to that point, there is a chest half buried in the earth and some loot inside. i missed it on my first 3 playthroughs.
Yes, I wonder how he missed that
Can you upload a screenshot of that position on a map, please? Because "up high on a mountain" and "skellige" is like half the landmass!!!
@@TheresOnlyOneIanGere How do I upload pictures on youtube comments?
I found it in my first playthrough xD
am i the only person who didn‘t even knew that morkvarg can be a man again
i always solved the quest with giving him his own flesh and thats it :D
wow ok :) Glad I mentioned it
What choices do i need to make so morkvarg can be a man again?
@@hehehiho6850 you have to investigate the house in the garden and then talk to his old mates in the nearby town
Whoa, I didn't know that
Leo I solve the quest by freeing mordvark and then I killed him anyway
I see you still continuing your Witcher 3 researchs. Keep it up the videos xLetalis.
I intend to ;]
So here's two I recently found, not sure if anyone else found them.
The second one might be a Dracula Easter egg from the books
@@danielstocks9088 can you elaborate?
IIRC, once you leave the tent after Avallac'h's briefing to you and the Sorceresses, you can find Ciri nearby in small, narrow ravine practicing her "Force" powers by levitating several small rocks. There are a few small snippets of dialogue. Another great video - Thank you.
Can you point out a video with this scene? Can't seem to find it on youtube. Thanks!
Yes where the video i need it =/
Nick Vitale can you explain more?
IIRC?
Haris Uddin if I recall correctly
Oh god oh no I can feel it, witcher 3... ITS PULLING ME BACK IN
I know how you feel
Video intro: Geralt jumping from like 200 ft cliff to a river
Me: Second guessing from a 10 ft jump
Now if you rotate the map of Ard Skellig (the main island) 45 degrees clockwise it is in the shape of a bird including a lake for an eye.
interesting
i was forced to a church trip to Spiekeroog once, its the most boring place i have ever seen, nothing but dunes and old people
You can find Luke Skywalker there too.
I was laughing my ass of in my first playthrough when I asked Morkvarg for the reward and killed him right after that. One of the best endings to a quest xD
:D indeed
A little longer than usual but I hope you guys enjoy it! Also, I've left a couple of things out since I plan on making exclusive videos for them. (One is about Hjalmar's quest).
Also I I forgot to ask you guys to like the video :P Go ahead and do if you thought it was good!
You are too good for us, these videos are never too long or numerous.
I'm surprised you didn't include the shipwreck in the far east that starts a quest that ends in the west of Velen.
Yeap, crabs was there =) but now they are removed
I guess he was not going crazy LOL
Was i the only one who got the chills when he went to the whale spawn point?
I got them too!!! Not sure why
Should've mentioned about shrines of Skellige gods which you can pray and change weather with it. And one of those shrines, theres a cute sidequest. Not sure locations. Youll have to search for them.
Yep they are pretty neat.
Common games
"Goodbye NPC i'll never meet again!"
The Witcher 3
"Let's make the grieving npc go mourn near the shore"
yes indeed
So true, in almost every quest most of the npcs just seem to vanish after the quest like they never existed. If they're still there, they won't have much or any dialogue. And the npcs are not much different from any other game object. But in the Witcher series it feels so real, even NPCs have lives of their own, routines, schedules, opinions, personalities. They continue living their lives even after the quest ends, and the outcome of the quest is very clear in how they lead their lives.
Sreyas RS rdr2 outdid this though but props to the witcher nonetheless
@@leovincent7417 What game are you referring to, I can't decipher the abbreviation :P
I believe it’s the Western RPG ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ if I’m not mistaken amigo.
Cheers!
Played for 350+ hours, never knew about the lift.
The more you know.
Brother you are the only one I know who shares my unrelenting passion for the witcher world! Currently watching your whole playlist (130+ videos) in order. Thank you so much for this A+++ Content and see you in the next one 😁
About the last little detail: You can find the wedding gift in the ship wreck and give it to the (almost) husband.
Yeah I didn't know about it back then ;[
@@xLetalis you can also see the faces of the brothers carved into the tree where they died
After u get the quest about the book research. If u go further on the island. The hardest Griffin will be waiting for u.
Cerys is best ruler, shes smart and stabilizes Skellige. Also she's badass and gorgeous
@Emiscary1 felt the same way the brother was too hot headed
yeah but even if you kill morgvarg after hearing about his reward, people in towns will say, "another murderer runs free"
Number 19 at 20:47. It’s just amazing that they put in that amount of detail. I would never even think to look for something like that. Amazing.
indeed
The crabs are definitely there! I saw them too.
Undvik is my favorite location in the whole game! I think there should be at least several interesting details... At least, song of the old man is beautiful
I still remember how blown away I was and how euphoric it was to land on Skellige for the first time, absolutely amazing.
Cerys is a great ruler. She is wise and sly, she finds the right way. I like her.
I always liked her.
Not just wise and sly, she still is strong in a fight I would say, if its necessary
@@Rakshiir Also brother & father can still support her, its better to have a smart ruler than someone as hotheaded as her brother who might take it too fast before hearing opinions like blaming the bearserkers without asking who is behind all if it.
And most importantly she is a redhead
@@YuubiTimberwolf crach dies
@@randomness5281 and? His death has nothing to do with cerys being queen
What an absolute masterpiece.
well said :)
Second playthrough is even better
Curious, what's the best video game you played?
The Iron Maiden quest was a personal favorite of mine in Skellige.
I thought the reward was just the Glyph behind the monument (I almost fell off the cliff getting it), pretty sure it says the shadow at midday, which would be a very small shadow. idk?
@@austinmoss5501 It is down in the forest but the shadow isn't there every day. I missed it, too.
I love this chain of islands, they may have slaves but they sure know to party.
Edit: I chose Cery, that way we are rid of Birna Bran betrayal.
I let them all die
Man cant believe in 2019 ive come back again to your channel.
used to binge watch your TW3 vids back in 2016
hey :) welcome back, I couldn't let go of the game!
@@xLetalis same , i ignored it for the past year and half. just getting back into it again recently.
It seems your channel has been growing well since last time i checked, congratulations man.
@@BugScuzzle Thank you :) You could check the other videos in this series.
Skellige was absolutely gorgeous and completely unique as far as open worlds are concerned. It also was one of the more grim locations.
I mean Velen was pretty grim
@@xLetalis I think Skellige felt more "personally" grim. The culture was very free spirited and almost naive at times, which makes a lot of the misfortune that befalls people extra impactful. I think the quests for the individual clients wound up disturbing me more. Also pair that with the music and the climate, and it just has this mysterious, eerie vibe that I've never seen replicated in a game before
Videos like this just shows what a great game this is, I'm on my 3rd play through and I'm still finding new things and outcomes
Too much witcher 3?
There is no too much of witcher 3!!!
Instead of the lift , you can use a small path in the same tower that runs alongside the cliff and at the end you end up near the barber's house .Its the fastest way of getting up there from the town , second only to the fast travel .
Perfect!I'm just about to start a new Witcher 3 playthrough for the 50th time
gl!
1 small detail that isn’t important but i thought interesting is during the sun stone search in skellige quests. While talking to the diver “fishlung” i found out that if you mention its dangerous they leave right away safely and aren’t attacked by the drowners. If you dont mention/skip that dialogue option. They get attacked by the drowners while you’re there in the underwater cave.
oh interesting, I need to check it out!
Yen the rebel!
oh yeah Yen did that
It's been a while since I played through the game as you're supposed to during the Skellige part so I might be wrong. Look into it, maybe?
great video as always :D, you are the best Witcher youtuber easily
Poor xLetalis playing too much witcher 3 he thought crab rave was in Skellige (: Really good video !
Can't imagine how they managed to pack that amount of detail and quality content into a single game. Unbelievable.
After GOG version of the game has been updated to Enhanced Edition I couldn't find this conversation any more.
hm interesting
