Which brings me to Lucy Thomas. I've been following her and have commented that she has the best pure voice since Karen Carpenter; I'd love to see her cover "End of the World". WOW....I like the way she sings this song compared to other versions. She really put her feelings into it. I've listened to it many times. It's so moving. Great voice. Great musical.
This is absolutely beautiful. Really. And I was around when Skeeter Davis came out with this originally in 1963. She performed very often in Nashville, Tennessee, where I grew up. Nashville was/is known as the country music capital. I graduated high school 3 years after she first started singing this song. I'm so very glad to hear this lady sing the song. I don't think I ever heard Skeeter sing it accompanied by an orchestra. That makes it all the more beautiful. Thanks for posting this.

若い頃、仕事関係の方で石嶺さんと言う方がいました。とても気さくで穏やか感じの方で良くお話をしていましたが、後になって石嶺さんは、あの石嶺聡子さんのお父さんだと言うこと聞いて驚きました。きっと娘さんである聡子さんも素晴らしい人格のひとなんでしょうね。
