Before this, he lived such a hard and difficult past, and that past life and sudden fame is what led him to do what he did (doesn't excuse it, but you can see why he did what he did). Money was so scarce for him and he wanted to use that fame because he knew fame didn't last that long, so to keep being relevant, he did what he did.

Im Korean and he went through more than living alone for 10 years. He actually found his mother and went to her but his mother rejected him because she already had a rich husband and a family... he also thought of committing suicide but a music teacher he met told him to sing and be famous to show his mother to show he wasnt just a mistake in the world. As a Korean he is my forever role model. I absolutely respect you sung bong choi👍👍👍
I had watched this young man sang couple times now. Every time I watch him sang I cry. I was an orphan too, my father passed away when I was 6 or 7 years old. My mother got married and let us children alone. My siblings and I are struggle to survive during many times of trials. When we came to America in 1977 after the Vietnam War, we cannot speak and write English at all. We live a life in the lost world in America. Back in my teenager year with very limited English and have no money at all and little food to eat. The only lunch and breakfast I ate is at school in the morning and lunch only. Came home with empty stomach over night and wait till the next day back to school. People do not understand how orphans kids suffer before they become one. Thanks God I survived. Every time I watch this young man sang it always remind me to stand strong and be yourself, love yourself and think positive and thrive for the success you dream to achieve in life. People will push you down, but God will always raise you up no matter what people think of you. Dream big and never ever give up! God is good and awesome!

There are young men who have been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for their bravery and sacrifice and selflessness in battle. It’s not the age of a person that determines maturity. Character, devotion to one’s creed, resilience, and upbringing are more important than a person’s age. What inspires you and who inspires you? This young man came from nothing. He was homeless. He maintained his dignity and humility. He persevered. That is enough to inspire me. Young people should ASPIRE to be like him.

Yes indeed, a masterful vocalist... and to now find out, that he's on his deathbed , at such a young age, with such a wonderful voice- tells me that there is no God in this world. How could he allow this boy to overcome such tragedies in life, and to be stricken with terminal cancer, is beyond any comprehension I can imagine.

I'm sure you will have more chance to see homeless people in subway station in New York than subway station in Seoul. The reason this story is so impressing Korean people is that above story is very rare case in Korea. There are lots of welfare organizations and also they are supported from government and donations.
Because of the hard life he lives you can easily tell that he is not used to people being nice to him. Although grateful and happy he was a bit awkward for the attention he's getting from them. His story was very inspiring, makes me thankful for my life.

When I am feeling at my lowest and at the point of giving up I always come here to let all my emotions out and Sung-Bong Choi kicks my selfish arse back into reality and Im uncontrollable as I release all my stress through tears of sadness. This guy is so humble and and I cannot imagine what life has thrown at him its certainly puts my self pity into perspective and gives me hope that such beautiful humans DO exist. I saw this video about 9 or 10 years ago! My heart hurt for his story, but I think all that life experience and pain went to his singing which made him unforgettable and amazing. To this day, this young man’s song moves me to tears. I looked up the English translation of the song. It’s the perfect lyrical foundation for supporting his life. Although in my opinion, the song is way too forgiving on the society that has caused him the grief. However, his voice is otherworldly and so moving. What a beautiful soul this man is

Being a spoiled American I can not relate to his difficult life. However, even at 67 years old, I did cry hearing him ell his story. Not to mention his God given talent for singing. What a great inspiration for millions!!! Thank you, Sung-bong Choi, for sharing your story and your talent.

I can honestly say I am one of the 6.5 billion people who enjoyed his singing ability. I sang in school, had lessons and more, yet he is a far better vocalist than I'll ever be. Even though I did not understand the language, I understood the emotion and passion he put into it. I hope he goes far.

Sad thing is He died without having his mother claim his body he was 25 days in the freezer until his former manager was able to give him funeral. People are cruel, even your own flesh and blood so we should be careful not to make mistake. I hope he RIP.

He maintained his dignity and humility. He persevered. That is enough to inspire me. Young people should ASPIRE to be like him.

Actually, there are lots of homeless people in Korea, even now. I fyou travel there and go to the subways, there are lots of people sleeping there.
I'm sure you will have more chance to see homeless people in subway station in New York than subway station in Seoul. The reason this story is so impressing Korean people is that above story is very rare case in Korea. There are lots of welfare organizations and also they are supported from government and donations.
Because of the hard life he lives you can easily tell that he is not used to people being nice to him. Although grateful and happy he was a bit awkward for the attention he's getting from them. His story was very inspiring, makes me thankful for my life.

I saw this video about 9 or 10 years ago! My heart hurt for his story, but I think all that life experience and pain went to his singing which made him unforgettable and amazing. I can honestly say I am one of the 6.5 billion people who enjoyed his singing ability. I sang in school, had lessons and more, yet he is a far better vocalist than I'll ever be. Even though I did not understand the language, I understood the emotion and passion he put into it. I hope he goes far.

This young man Sung-Bong Choi is the living proof that Miracles still exist.
Amazing spirit in this young man. His fortitude brought tears to my eyes. This sounds like the basis of a really great drama that I know I'd certainly love to see! I hope he's doing well in 2023!
Unfortunately, he died by Suicide on June 20, 2023, at the age of 33. R.I.P.
This story is heartbreaking in so many ways. When he sang, it was like he was meant to make it to that day to sing. I am so moved by this man. I hope he is doing well.

And young westerners "think" they have it tough. This young man is an inspiration to every living human being today. Even at the very lowest point of his life, he never gave up - i'm sure there were times where he may have wanted to give up, but he pressed on. What a wonderful human being.

2020 and i found this video.. I'm crying a lot just because this guy live in the street for almost 10 years with this kind of powerful voice..Life is so unfair...Im just realized that I'm blessed enough..I have Home ..i have my parents..I eat 3 times a day so I'm thankful..I wish this man will be successful someday...godbless you ..
