Oh , wow! I really enjoyed your reading of this. I think I would definitely like to explore this poem more. I can definitely see why it is one of your favorites. The images are really intense and it has a very psychological and spiritual feeling to it that is very rich and makes you want to really close your eyes and imagine it. Thank you for sharing this!

Wow! That was great! I don’t read much poetry, but I’ve recently come across quite a few great YA novels written in verse that I’ve purchased for the library. I also love when I come across poetry in the books I’m reading. I may have to pick up some Sylvia Plath sometime. Pretty powerful.

Thank you Kari! Plath isn't for everyone but I've always enjoyed her. I was wanting to make "A Favorite Poem" a Tag. I would love it if others would share their favorites. My favorite YA poet is Shel Silverstein, he's brilliant. I'll share a poem by him someday :)

Did Ms. Plath say what this particular poem was about?
Something of a list came to mind in the reading of it, and I feel like the list might make me a bad person:
    - Doll
    - Cast
    - Makeup
    - Kid
    - Conscience

I don't know what she meant but to me I think of the 2 people most of us are. The dark, real woman with all her flaws & our "shell" the one we present to society. That perfect woman we strive to be, but just can't be her. That's the thing I love about poetry. Each person has their own interpretation, it touches us each differently.
