Seeing how far behind the 2300 would have been in comparison to the 8Gen 2, it is now obvious why they simply could not have made two versions of the S23 series as the performance difference is simply too large.

Very interesting test this, in that the G3 chip is basically an Exynos 2300 in a party frock, and this chip would have been in the 'selected market' version of the S23 series had Samsung not gone all Snapdragon with the entire series. Seeing how far behind the 2300 would have been in comparison to the 8Gen 2, it is now obvious why they simply could not have made two versions of the S23 series as the performance difference is simply too large.
Yet they plan to with the s24 line and have s24 and s24+ with worse processors than the year before
I hope the 2400 would catch up
Yet it works with pixels fine due to better optimisation and no bloat like the samsungs
@@randombutpro7547 exynos 2400 is rumored to be at 8 gen2 performance level. So, almost a generational gap between the two variants.
What difference? There is no difference and you will not enjoy a phone more because a benchmark gives a higher number. There is no difference in the short medium term
I could never use Samsung software and their camera layout on the back of this device is unsettling. I have trypophobia. Pixel 8 Pro easy choice for me, especially as I don't play games or do anything intensive like that video processing you did here.
Samsung needs to round out the sharp corners on the ultra. They've had that same design since the Note 10. I have the 7 Pro and I'm trading it in for the 8 Pro with the watch for free. If the battery is anywhere near as bad as the 7 pro has been for me as well as overheating then I will be returning it. I really hope it's not. My 7 Pro will overheat by just making eye contact with it. I hope those issues have been fixed cuz I want to keep it. Great video by the way thanks for sharing it!
I have a desktop PC for gaming. Couldn't give two shits about which phone opens a millisecond faster. I want a nice screan, great battery and buttery smooth clean android.
I'm using pixel 7pro and it's just too good. I think pixel 8pro needs some updates and all
Should have started with both devices at 100% battery to compare which drained faster doing the same.
You can still compare both even if they don't start at 100%. In fact, it's better to not start these type of tests at 100% because some phones lie about it to make it seem like they last longer.
Hey awesome video but I'd like to know the name of the wallpaper on your pixel 8 pro?
You are the man!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice comparison, pixel user here. Btw, can you please share the wallpaper you used on the pixel 8 pro? Thanks
Switching back to P8 Pro after having using the S22+. Missed my pure Android from my P4 XL & P1 XL.
I'm coming home!
How does the heat on the 8 pro compare with the s23 ultra after all the tests? Hows the battery life difference?
This is what I'm wondering about, I'm leaning S23 Ultra because of what I'm guessing is a more efficient chipset but if the Tensor is actually competitive there this time...
@@shinydavidhowell I have OCD so the bloat that Samsung installs drives me crazy. So I can only choose pixel for a clean phone. Just here hoping pixel is worthy upgrade from my pixel 6 pro (amazing phone even today) and not have the heat issue of 7 pro.
@@IronCan88 Oof, that is infuriating. (I might have OCD myself but it manifests differently, with decision anxiety that makes me overthink choices like... Which phone to get 😂)
Hope you do get something that's not too hot! A friend is tempted by the vanilla 8 and her partner preordered the Pro due to the lack of bloatware, but she's very sensitive to heat so I've warned her about the historic issues with the Tensor chips in that regard.
@@shinydavidhowell isn't it funny how even Samsung uses Qualcomm chip, yet Samsung continue to pump out inferior chips to sell to other companies. And then other companies seeing the fact and stills buys junk. I am hopeful for someday when pixel gets Tensor made with TSMC , maybe pixel 10 :).
(I also have the indecisive weakness like you. Even after preordering pixel 8pro, I still continue to watch Samsung and iphone reviews, them I had to convince myself that s23 ultra's rear looks ugly and bloatware loaded, and I really prefer android interface.... otherwise if we look solely on specs both Samsung and iphone seem to have supert hardware. Nevertheless, pixel 8pro is the cheapest option if you factor in the free pixel watch 2, so really can't complain as long as the heat and battery longevity issues are manageable.
Hello sir, I have pre ordered Google pixel 8 in india. A bit confused whether i should go with pixel 8 or go with iphone 14 plus as I have heard a lot of heating issues about pixel
Please help.
Pixel 8 will have heating issues for sure
The Samsung may be faster opening apps, however, am not sure what I am supposed to do with the loading time difference.
had sticky scrolling on my pixel 7 pro. Any problems with the 8 pro? Judging by your video it seems that the scrolling dosnt respond sometimes?
Yea scrolling is bad on apps like twitter
@@MrAndroidFHD is it janky scrolling or does the screen get stuck /doesnt respond properly while scrolling ?
how r u using lock screen clock to home screen.
Battery n camera performance test is more important
S23U aren't faster at opening app, Pixel's device just have a app loading screen let it look slower then others 🤷🏻♂️
Can u tell me if there's any heating issues with pixel?
Yes but not like 7 pro
Wallpaper link please
Pixel is reducing their phones heat generation after generation like innovation in iphone year after year🤣
I am a galaxy fan. But I respect the pixel phone as the anchor of the android world ❤
I love the face unlock on the pixel series much better then Galaxy phones. Although Xiaomi is the best
Pixel 8 performed really considering they are using a slower storage, slower SoC manufactured on an Samsung fabs which are considered inferior to TSMC. This shows how bloated Samsung phones really are.
strong accent bro, so ok for pixel pro 8 or not?
Do what you like. Don't listen to UA-camrs . The P8P is going to be the phone to have this year and for the next 5 - 7 years as well
i feel this channel a honest review and keep a real comparison methods s..
Is the battery as good as the Samsung?
Bought a Pixel 8 last week. Really appreciate this comparison. 🙂
Great to hear!
Both phones lose 5% battery during your test, that's a good thing !
Seems pretty good. I'm going for the pixel 8 pro from iphone 11 pro. When it dies, i'll go for google. Mostly because the price it's getting relevant this days.
How hot was that Pixel 8 Pro before you started the test. Was the S23 Ultra cold?
People buy Pixel for the smartest software features and Google's Android whereas Samsung is performance king
As expected pixel did really well
How if the battery life on pixel vs the ultra?
iPhone 13 Pro Max - 2334 / 5910 … wtf with android ?🙄😆
I do love my s23 ultra, but i do think is heavy,
I also love the google pixel,
I think both phones are extraordinary, ❤❤❤
S23 ultra 🔥
Undefeated
Please someone tell me,whether the heating and 5g connectivity issue is too problematic in 8 pro??, i so want to get my pixel journey begin in 2025, also a very basic user, but according to 70-80k procepoint, heating and connectivity issues cpuld be major, however, always dreamt of switching into pixel only😢
Connectivity issue is present
You buy your smartphone to play on benchmarks? 🤦♂... if you buy a phone you have a purpose, to use it on a daily basis, look for one that suits your needs and stop being guided only by numbers 🤷♂
The cameras alone is why im upgrading to the pixel 8 pro
Google should stop loading the initial "splash screen" for each app.
Can't wait for the s 24 ultra 🥱😁
I really want the pixel. But I want them to want to be better. Cheaping on hardware like this is what was supposed happen for Nexus not for Pixels. You can see that with the lack of processing speed and slower ufs 3.1 storage it is slower than last years phone.
Charging speed?
Mention that both costs the same in India
Well tensor is far behind in terms of raw power ... but i think we should consider that apps are not optimised yet for Android 14 and the Devi8is new .. maybe that why scrolling was stuttering..
Twitter is just shit coded, is not a problem from the Pixel, is a problem of the app getting a random bug in the Pixel
Pixel 8 pro release-oct 12 2023
S23 ultra release Feb 17, 2023
S23 has had many updates in the 7 and a half months since released
Pixel has had zero. Just to put it in perspective
Let's go Punjabi. Another banger.
First comment again...... im a big fan
thanks
Just speed up the animations in the settings, wtf dude.
Does it really matter if an app opens half a second faster on one phone?? Nope. These comparisons are pointless nowadays. Especially for average consumers
In twitter scrolling in s22 ultra not smooth at all I don't know if they fix it in s23 ultra
better on s23
is there a dead pixel on your pixel 8 pro ?
where bro 😮
Great video. i think you should compare pixel 7 pro and 8 pro
I love this video,it so much useful
