- Before I head off for a long weekend covering a few miles, thought I'd quickly change the oil and filters as It's quick and easy to do, albeit dirty!!
Nicely done buddy!!!Got my oil,All filters inc pollen & tackling it this weekend. Will be watching your vid again during as reference.👍🍻 Brake pads next....
Good luck with all that but everything's easy to get to in the Trafic.
Thanks for the video, simple instruction, easy to follow.... A good help.
Free Tip Friday: The fuel filter housing has a drain on the bottom, you can unscrew it to let the diesel empty out before pulling the lid/filter and making a mess ;)
Great tip thanks 👍
Very helpful, will try this in a couple of weeks time using this guide. Thanks chap!
No problem :)
I'm with you on the diesel filter. If you have the money to throw it away, fine. But at the prices these days, I keep mine in. Haven't had a problem so far and I have known others to not empty it out for years upon years of their filter changes. With no issues.
The little plastic plug snaps so easily, I eventually bought at metal one for £24 and fitted it to the car. To be honest, I wasn't going to change it too but had heard that changing it was problematic so decided to do a little video on it.
Great video. Personally I would throw all the diesel from the filter casing. By lifting the filter out you are potentially leaving contaminants the filter has caught since it was fitted in the remaining fuel in the filter housing. When you put the new filter in, some of that contaminated fuel will be on the "clean fuel" side of the new filter.
Good call - I will the next time, always learning 😊
@@garageofdad the cleverest people are those who never stop learning 😃
Great tutorial,, saves paying a garage £50 plus a hour and 20%mark up on the parts
Wow, Absolutely brilliant,, thank you so much....££££ saved
That's great!
Cool video ! I would spray some wd 40 on rusty parts...
Thanks for the tip to fill oil , great ide👍
I just buy same type of car .
1/4 drive will undo sump plug.
Good video! One question, how did you bleed the fuelfilter?
I clamped the hoses then released the just before I tightened the bleed screw. Some fuel came out then started the car and fortunately it ran perfectly. Do not over tighten the bleed screw or it will break!
Put tape in between windscreen and scuttle plate as water goes into engine bay and will seize and foul your injectors. Also highly recommend to fit a oil separator between pvc and intake the save you egr build up. These engines have massive blow by. To check take off oil filler cap when warm and see how much oil vapor comes out.
Mine doesn't leak but great tips thanks
Any chance of a quick video of ur tips. Or picture 😊
Aren't you supposed to replace the seal on the bolt as well?
It didn't come with the kit so didn't do it. Sealed up fine.
Thank you.
hi...what kind of engine is it? displacement? thanks

Mine was 7.7 litres
You say it’s easier to lift it out, mine won’t even lift out 😂
My white Trafic was just the same but after a bit of perseverance, it eventually came out 😒
I thought I was the only car fix it dad I’ve had two days of the sons traffic and the daughter focus suspension on the traffic and starter on the focus then on to my battle bus transit and the kids are nowhere in sight when it’s my turn
That's the name of the game. To be honest, my own Dad always helped me when I was young. Well done though, I'm sure they appreciate it 😄
My 2.4 transit takes 9 l
That's a lot of oil!
Use a funnel.
Did eventually!
I commented before I saw you use it. 😂
