    Thanks for the video. The filter is much easier to replace than the one under the vehicle, i.e., in other models. I can't wait until I have an electric car.

      Glad you found it useful. If you change the fuel filter there is a hidden mesh type filter in the top of the housing. It's not really mesh but I don't know how else to describe it (it's more like a course ceramic block) . You need to make sure that it isn't blocked. When I made this video I did not know it was there. It isn't mentioned in any manuals. Another vivaro owner told me about it after he had faults show up that he couldn't solve. Turned out to be this secret filter was blocked. When I played my video back slowly you can see it sitting in the housing.

      Glad you found it useful. I've got a video to do on the braking system soon. The weather is holding me up a bit. Not a nice time of year to work on the van. Especially if you don't have a garage.

    Is there a small round filter in the lid of the main filter that needs cleaning with a small amount of petrol ?

  • @saltylips9965
    @saltylips9965 Рік тому +2

    How on earth did you get that filter back onto the bracket in the bay? Its almost impossible. Ive spent two hours trying to do it. It aint happening.

    • @ItsWhatIDo
      @ItsWhatIDo  Рік тому

      Which filter are you talking about? I will assume you mean the fuel filter. It is a bit fiddlerly. You need to position the housing sort of half way so you are not trying to slide it the full length of the slide. The housing side of the slides are closed off at the top so you can't slide it the full length. Once you have them started into the groves you use a bit of firm pressure (not too hard) and push it down far enough to be able to bend the locking tab back into place. I hope this help you.

      @@ItsWhatIDo yeh the fuel filter. Nah I tried that and it doesn't go on right. I noticed a lot of other videos on here show the van as not having the metal piece on top. So after 2 hours of fiddling around and moving the wiring tab out the way above it and peeling back the material from the inside wall to make more room, I gave up and just kept the top metal part off. Van started up fine and runs even better now! Thanks for the video

    • @ItsWhatIDo
      @ItsWhatIDo  Рік тому

      @@saltylips9965 That metal part is only a guard to protect the fuel lines. It doesn't actual do anything so won't hurt to leave it off as long as you have nothing rubbing on the fuel line. Glad you got it sorted.

    I’ve done the fuel filter but now it won’t start, there no fuel coming up the primer pipe so no air or fuel coming out the bleeder nipple
    Anyone got any suggestions I can’t figure it out tia

    • @ItsWhatIDo
      @ItsWhatIDo  8 місяців тому

      There are quite a few things that can cause an issue. Try taking the fuel cap off in case the breather is blocked. You can also pre fill the canister which will help. If you close the bleed screw does it build pressure? Any splits on the manual pump ball?

    That engine takes more than 5 ltr of oil

    • @ItsWhatIDo
      @ItsWhatIDo  Рік тому

      Yes it does. If you look at the video for changing the engine oil ( ua-cam.com/video/CcBePAR6Q58/v-deo.html ) you will see that although I don't quote the oil volume, as you should be checking that in your workshop manual or user manual, I do state that I'm using some oil that I had left over from the last oil change.
