get yourself a $25 Toshiba FlashAir SD card. :) You'll be able to transfer the pictures to your phone in seconds and that will give you the workflow you miss compared to a smartphone. I have two X10s and will keep them until the stop working.

Set the image size to M DDR to 400% Skip the EXR mode now you are in EXR all of the time. Use P, A, S, M with the above settings and watch the magic happen.
A lot of people don't know that the x10 needs to be "tweaked" to explore the best of her, you will be cutting in half the size of your photos but it is so worth it ^^ i have a x30 but still use more my x10.
DDR 400% is a setting that sets maximum iso to 800, am I right? Bought a x20 Wanna get the beste quality out of it, would be nice if you could give me some tips. Why image size to M?
In EXR mode the camera splits the sensor and combines two 6 megapixel images. That might be why you found its images to be subpar compared to a phone. In all the other modes you get a full 12 megapixel image.
I brought myself an X-T10 over the Christmas period just so to lighten my load what difference the older model of the camera really makes the experience is seriously satisfying.

I've owned X10 since it's release, and it's still the Only camera i own till today, i'm not too big on photography, but it gives me a good images of my travel, day to day activities with families, etc that i ever need for my personal collection. There is no need to even upgrade when it still gives me a good photography! i can easily upgrade to Leica or what not, but X10 been with me for over 10 years, and it's my best little camera!~
I came across this camera last week in a pawnshop for $120, went back a couple of days later and snatched it up. They are still listing for over $300 on ebay in 2021. I remember when all these fuji's came out, i wanted one, but a little pricey, I really liked the form factor and sample shots. I ended up finding a mint Sony RX1rii fixed 35mm f2.0 and that ran me $2000. I love that camera, but the X10 i can take with me everyday keep on my neck and not be worried about banging up or losing a $4,000 camera.
I randomly checked a small camera store window one night and saw that they had a X10 in the Box and in mint condition for 125chf. (about the same in $) Got it and gave it to my dad on his birthday. He used to take awesome pictures with a sony alpha but recently only used his phone so I thought this would be a nice upgrade. It really is kinda crazy what they go for on ebay sadly.
Once had one, sold it for a Nikon D5100, then I bought a Fuji XE-2, then I bought a Fuji XT-1, which is still my current camera. I think I want a Fuji X-10 again!
I gave this camera as a gift to my daughter when it was brand new. 6 months ago, she gave it back to me having never used it. The camera is really nice to carry around. While I have other Fuji gear, this small camera is now in my bag all the time. Nice review and quite accurate.

This is my everyday camera. And, although I love my iPhone, the 4x zoom on the X10 makes it worth it for me. The only drawback is that you need 2 hands to turn it on 😂
I was able to repair an old X10 Camera that had a Focus Error. Was able to Tear Down the camera, remove and clean the Lends Unit. Now it works perfectly and is in great condition. A great buy for EUR90. Complements my X30 and X100T. Looks better than the others, is smaller than the others, so easy to take everywhere. Love Fuji cameras and their Film Simulations in 2023.
This is my first and only numeric camera for 7 years so far and I'm still using it. But beware, after sometime the lens can start to jiggle a lot and it seems to be to expensive to repair. I'm looking for something else that share the same size / body material / aestethics, any recommandations ?
I got good results using this camera, but only with the bundled Silkypix raw file converter. I think the EXR sensor created some problems when using programs such a Lightroom.
I still use and love my X10. Don't use the EXR mode. Customize the settings in C1 and C2 for max resolution. In my living room I have hung a print measuring 100x70cm that you cannot tell from a full frame camera.
There are usb c or other type usb card readers with those you can transfer the pictures directly to your phone to edit them. Maybe it's worth trying out.
Yeah, it's a hidden gem. But I just sold it and bought an original version of X100, just because the sensor size is 2/3 inch vs apsc size - the latter times bigger. I do agree, though, that when holding X10 in hand, I always felt it nice and a pleasure to play with, the metal top and lens cap, the small but zoom lens with big 2.0 aperture, and the cold feel of the metal lens cap ...
Results aren’t great, but don’t forget- it’s a lot cheaper than a modern IPhone. So I guess it’s also better, because you have a real camera in your hands and all the manual settings you can expect even from a modern dslr. OVF actually zooms with the lens, which is nice, it’s better than nothing. ISO Performance- OK (a lot better than IPhone 6, which I used before my X10) . So overall, I think everyone who needs a small camera should buy the X10, it’s better than the iPhone and lets don’t forget- it’s a real camera.

The reason you think the images might not look good is that It could be because the x10 has a exr-cmos sensor, a variation of the Bayer, not xtrans sensor man still a cool little camera!
In essence, with the camera set on EXR, are you not comparing a a 9 year old algorithm against a one on a modern phone. I have an X30, and use predominantly Aperture Priority, and alternate between the various film modes. Have you conducted a side by side comparison of photographing the same scene using the EXR, and Aperture Priority modes?

"The Fuji Experience"? I got my exp. in 2008, when I bought the Finepix F30. Awesome little gem, still use it, and now it' s the new "Digicam" film craze with the CCD sensor lol!
Pick up a Canon Elph 310 in fine condition. If you do, try shooting indoors set for cloudy. People forget these pocket point and shoots have in body stabilization. Just keep the pocket dust off the camera. With something. And shoot in program mode. And I own an X-H1 and a T-2.
Man this camera along with the x20 and x30 are almost impossible to find online in Australia. X10 is up for around $900 from U.S or Japan used. There are only one or two ads.i few years ago I remember seeing 10s of these cameras for $150 to $300.
I use this type of cameras more with the concept of "evolved" analogue cameras in mind rather than outdated digital. Shoot some more film guys, and you will understand the importance of good glass and proper, human light-reading skills. iPhone is all about fast performance, hi-res and reliability also for non-photographers (and that is surely very democratic) but, honestly, having three front lenses and being able to even change the DoF in post-production sounds a bit like cheating to me or, in order not to sound offensive to anyone, bringing all the fun almost down to zero. Little gems like the X10 just make you wanna start going all the way old-school (at least they did to me). How many people born after 2000 have experienced looking inside a viewfinder, rotating a physical lens and pressing a real shutter??
Great video, I got one of these last year and I love it! It's definitely not perfect but certainly a ton of fun to use. I really like setting it to the black and white film preset.
I love this camera but I sent it into Fujifilm for a repair and they said they couldn’t help me because they didn’t have the parts. Suggested that I swap it for a $1000 camera plus shipping. I’ll be sticking with Canon cameras.

As some other poster said poor results must be heavily influenced by the user. I have this camera as well as the X20 and the X30 and I have very good 20x16 inch prints from all of them. The quality is no problem.

If you can’t get good images from this camera it’s honestly user error. I’ve seen X10 images that looked as good as it’s APS-C counterparts.

Silkypix delivers good results. I also use RawTherapee and get some great stuff. Wonder if he shot RAW or jpeg.

The specs are not outdated. From a 90's POV this camera is straight out of science fiction.

I've got the X30, but I also want an X10. I'm surprised you didn't find the IQ you wanted, as I've heard it is very good.

Yes it does, but only a few: Provia - Velvia - Astia -B&W - Monochrome + Yellow/Red/Green Filter - Sepia
